I’m happy for Michelle Dee. A lot of fans are not satisfied with her performances this season. It was a flat line and expectations for her to win are less not until tonight-the Finals- the only night that will matter to get the crown and she did her best. Her walk and performance can be trained, but it takes YEARS to build up a resumé like hers. She is highly educated, experienced and has great commskills. Even if she doesn’t win/get into Top 5, she’ll more than likely still place because she’s a worthy finalist regardless.

I hope Miss Baguio would join again because I can see her as Miss Universe and Miss international. More Q&A training for her, is my unsolicited advise. Miss Zambales would be a good contestant for Miss Grand, her flamboyant personality would fit this contest. Miss Bohol’s white gown should have a black cape (or something colored) to emphasizer her waist (which is very important in these contests). Miss Baguio and Miss Zambales gowns for me are the best. Miss Makati’s gown has a cut out framed by crystals that made this gown very sexy. Seeing them for the first time, standing on stage, side by side; Miss Baguio stood out so much specially in that gown (I hope the organizers could fashion something like that for Miss Makati for Miss Universe). My top 3 had always been Zambales, Bohol and Makati, but Miss Baguio took my breath away. I have to mention Miss Cortessi’s last walk, my heart gave way and I cried. She tried really hard and I can still see her disappointment and feel her depression. The gold gown is too long for her and caught her shoes (I suddenly remembered Miss South Africa 2018), but she is beautiful despite everything.

When Makati nailed both Q&A round, the competition is over. She is clearly the winner!
But I have a question, since you prefer Baguio for Universe based on stage performances, gown among others, isn't it that Miss Universe is heading towards a different direction. They want a transformational woman with a strong legit advocacy. So what about their credentials? we have to take a look that too right?

    • @yandere8074

This is exactly my thoughts. I think Dani Walker is still on previous era. The new Miss U org wants a strong empowered woman. Who has a strong advocacy and authentic. This is why on the last Miss Universe competition, there are candidates who are weak in pasarela but they got in the Top rankings. Baguio only looks like that because her team made her look like that. Im still not convince of her being authentic. If this is trump era, she will win the title. Baguio’s Gown is beautiful indeed. But the gown carried her. Her make up made her look like a latina.

Baguio got that grit and passion, coming from a humble beginning where she had to work herself up to get to college. Her 2nd question is for the kind people and the people who give so much kindness in her journey. She had a very controversial 1st question, and I applaud her for her answer. No one’s brave enough to say that, especially since the owner is transgender. You could tell she is brilliant, and I do wish she returns on that MUPH stage and claim that MUPh crown once more. She is a dream to watch, and I can’t get over it!
For this edition, they are looking for a candidate who has solid advocacy like Michelle’s (life-long advocacy as her two brothers are on the spectrum of being autistic). Regarding your question about recompeting, I believe that miss charm and Supra will no longer be part of the Miss universe Philippines pageant because Empire PH (which also manages MUP) will be hosting different events for other two since Anne does not allow franchise holders to share title holders. That is also the reason why Baguio and Bohol were crowned at a separate ceremony. Instead of giving title based on rankings, it is said that after finding out the top contenders based on the scores, there is a closed-door meeting with the judges and head of the organization wherein they discuss which of the top candidates will be assigned to a particular international pageant.
That's why it's not always the one who gave the best answer during Q&A that will be sent to Miss Universe. They choose the one who has that Miss Universe vibe. Same goes with the other titles.

Agree w/ you again w/ Baguio she really electrified on stage specially in that evening gown! It's just that Makati besides being a sentimental fave(by the org.too) just really delivered on the Q&A segments!

I'm a fan of Miss Zambales but during the final's night Baguio shine the most. When Miss Baguio came out in the evening gown. My jaw dropped literally. Her stage presence was so strong. I feel like a saw goddess on screen. I thought she would win.

Bohol's fanbase were very angry that she placed after Makati for the second time in a row. I love it that Bohol chose a totally different look for her evening gown that is a major departure from the one she had last year, but unfortunately, EVERYBODY saw that she was trying to emulate Oxana. Copycat and lookalike queens usually do not win.

Insider tea: Zambales was neck-and-neck with another crown winner but she's young and fits the Miss Universe Philippines title so they placed her 1st Runner Up so she can join again next year. ANOTHER THING, Zambales, after the coronation, actually explicitly stated interest to join again! I guess the organization was smart reading into that.
