- What Up!! I’m back with another movie reaction and this time we’re checking out KICK-ASS.
From what I know, It's about a nerdy teenager takes his comic book obsession to the next level when he reinvents himself as a superhero and tries to actually fight crime.
That sound about right? We will see! This is my first time watching Free State Of Jones movie reaction from ya boy Devin G.

I think anyone who laughs at the change of pitch in a man's voice as he is burning to death is a stupid child. The scene is powerful- I have personally put out a child who was on fire when I was just a teenager myself. I'll never forget the sounds she made. They haunted me so badly I decided to become a nurse after that.
Anyone who giggled at that part of this movie in front of me would get decked.

the girl who played Hit Girl did another amazing remake film called "Let me in", it's a remake of a swedish film called "Let the right one in". she kicked butt in that film as well. another great reaction! the 2nd Kick Ass was great too, hope you react to it as well! 👍

Yeah that was a pretty good film (original and with her), it's like Twilight except not horrendously bad. And Kickass 2 is a must
One of the funniest superhero action comedy movies ever made, but it drew controversy upon release due to the character Hit Girl, who ends up killing people left and right throughout the film, which left critics very upset.

Not to mention her cussing. The parents that took their kids to see this sure had big feelings about everything. If only there was a system thats attached to everything that lets you know exactly when you're getting into before you go watch something...🤦🤣
I think the most recent Green Hornet would be a decent followup before Kickass 2

These movies have been around since the 50s.
The character of kickass is extremely naieve and inexperienced yet shows immense courage and character. Alot of people could learn alot from him.
One of my favorites. Kick-Ass 2 is really good as well.

Check out Kick ass 2, it's also 🔥! Also, idk if you've gotten the request before, but a movie called Windy City Heat is hilarious. It's a movie where they prank the main avtor into thinking he is acting in a serious action drama, but the whole thing is a prank, and it is hilarious. Keep doing your thing man!
Such a bad ass superhero film! Came out and shook things up a bit when Marvel was ruling pop culture. Cage & Hit-Girl are amazing here. Check out Pt. 2 as Jim Carey is in it!
Scary truth of Kick Ass is there is a fair share of Costumed Heroes in real life that have actually risked there lives.

2ND movie is fire too. Hitgirl (Chloe Mortez) is a little older, but just as deadly. Seriously, Chloe was amazing in the role. She even did a lot of her own stunts. And she can use a butterfly knife like that in real life too. The actress was 12 in the first one, and 15 in the 2nd.
She even rained with Jackie Chan from what I've read. Girl actually is a bit scary, ngl

One of my faves. Hit Girl rules, Red Mist drools! Fun fact: The lead (Aaron Taylor Johnson) and his buddy (Evan Thomas Peters) both ended up playing the same character (though slightly different versions) of Quicksilver, or Pietro Maximoff, Wanda's brother.
Aaron was Pietro in the MCU's Avengers, while Evan was "Peter" in Fox's X-Men.

Love this movie! I remember when it caused a big stink with people cause they were taking their children to see it thinking it was just a regular superhero movie. You know, because they dont attach the ratings or anything. 😂
Fun fact: The actor who plays as Marcus (the police officer who adopts Mindy in the end) is Omari Hardwick aka Ghost from the hit tv show, “Power”.

You should research some of the differences in the movie and the graphic novel it's based on. They cut ALOT of insane things Hit Girl did in the comic and she was still a controversial character that shocked people! Those of us who were familiar with what went on in the pages were like 'pfffft, that's nothing!' LOL

The actor who plays Kick-Ass, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, has played in a lot of movies. He was the Navy EOD Tech in Godzilla, and Quicksilver in the Avengers movies. A movie he was in, that you should check out, is Savages.

Wanted wasnt supposed to be about bending bullets instead it was supposed to be about super villains who defeated the heroes in their world and took over every industry. They created shows like the adam west batman so that peoole think superheros suck and discourage new ones but the kingsmen still get established to protect the world from them.
Kick ass starts a movement and more people become superheroes thus more super villains emerge too...the rest of the story continues in tge rest of the millar universe

For a couple years I’ve been trying to get my daughter to be Hit Girl for Halloween.
I told her I’ll be Big Daddy and I’m willing to drop some coin on the endeavor.
Hasn’t happened yet. But she was Harley for three years in a row and almost was Jinx last year.
I love this stupid movie. I can tell you loved it too.

If you liked this you should check out Hannah from 2011. Hannah was raised and trained like Hit Girl, but her father is ex-CIA who raises her while hiding out off the grid in the wilderness of Finland. He trains her as an assassin to defend herself against the group that is hunting them. It's no comedy though, straight up action thriller with a little mystery.
Devin G. Just to fill ya in on something I think ya missed. The lil girl(aka hitgirl) is the girl from the denzel movie "equalizer"... the one who was the prostitute in the diner, who talked with denzel every night.
Kick-Ass 2 is even more awesome! And I'm hoping one day for a Kick-Ass 3 😁

I'm not the trickiest guy on earth when it comes to working a butterfly knife, but you figure out pretty quick which side of the handle to keep a grip on--especially when the blade is sharp.

Hobo With A Shotgun starring Rutger Hauer, it's a low budget, ultra-violent B-movie from Canada about a hobo and his shotgun vs a crime boss and his minions. It's very much like Kickass but no superheroes, he's more like a homeless Punisher, it's campy with some comedic moments and strange characters with odd quirks, if you like Kickass you'll like Hobo.

Part 2 is a bit more divisive, but if you enjoyed this one I'd definitely check it out. Its worth it just to watch Hit Girl do her thing...and Jim Carey ham it up as an ex-mob enforcer 😁

Devin, you're the best movie reactor....I watched your video for The Equalizer.... since you watched that one first, you should go back and look at it, Chloe Grace Moretz who plays Hit Girl in Kick-Ass also plays Elena, the young prostitute Denzel hangs out with and saves in Equalizer!
The sequel isn't as good, but it's still fun.
Nic Cage was acting like that because he was paying homage to the original Batman, Adam West. Fun fact....Mr. West didn't really care for it.
