China blows my mind. Beautiful country. Very modern in the cities and many historic ancient historic villages. So cool to see you walk around and eating delicious looking street foods. Friendly people ! ❤❤❤❤
China has amazing culture food people scenic views etc. Shame on western media propaganda bashing China day in and day out. It’s a breath of fresh air travelling with you guys there and experience the real China. It just blows my mind. Thank you and keep your awesome videos coming ❤❤
I just returned from Lijiang. I recommend you go to Dragon Girl Lake. After you reach the entrance of the scenic area, walk in (make sure to walk in and go to the right). There are not many people there, at the foot of the snow-capped mountains, beautiful to the point of taking one's breath away
I'm loving your China series! I have taught Chinese students online for 5 years. When I first started it was hard to find good videos showing unfiltered or unbiased views on places in China. These videos you're making gives me great insight into current life there which gives me a better perspective on how to connect with my students. Seeing some of these places helps me to help them describe their life in their own words, if that makes any sense. Like now I know the streets are quieter, more electric scooters and cars, people go dancing in the park, what ordering food at a restaurants are like, what kind of foods and products they might see, where they might randomly encounter foreign goods (That Russian store was wild!), what the trains and hotels look like, etc. Thanks for these videos, really!
If you really want to connect with your students, I'd recommend that you go to China to experience it for yourself and maybe even meet your students in person. Wouldn't that be cool?
China is such a wonderful country, the more you learn about it, the more you love it. I've been learning about China the last 4 years and the country is nothing short of amazing. Even Marco Polo called it Heaven on Earth from just visiting a few cities in China.
The China Series has been spectcular . To go to regions of China that rarely gets a look see is so very special. You guys ar doing a gret job. This region is bucket list for us. One question for you ? Were you able to fly your drone there. To see no vehicles in the Lijiang Markets is so nice. Again, you guys are killing it. Sending much love and affection❤❤ from Harriet, Jim and Yuki Richmond, VA.
What a fantastic experience, I could walk those streets for hours and hours. I hope I can visit it one day. How great is a city prepared to help Julia, with her severe "pee problem" ha ha. It will help me too, I drink a lot of mate during the day!! What was that thing they offered you to try, cheese? I'm intrigued. Each video and each city increases my desire to travel around that country. Greetings from Buenos Aires
Hahaha, it is a city built with me in mind 😅❤️ ahhh, we still haven’t tried mate! 😫 It was a yak milk yoghurt snack with dried fruits, really good 🥰 Oooh, hope we get the chance to share it with you next year! Love to Buenos Aires ❤️🫰🏼
Your videos are so real! The ancient town of Lijiang is full of art, with many handicraft workshops and exquisite cabins, which is amazing! The ancient buildings are well preserved, people respect history, protect culture, and there are very unique ethnic minorities!Did you know? China has 56 ethnic groups, including Muslims and whites.
Aside from the toilet part😂😂😂 this town is mesmerizing. I would’ve loved to see the outskirts and the mountain. But like you said before -there is a reason to visit again🙂 Loved this.
Awesome video as you really captured the beauty of the place.....and it is amazing that with so many people in the town, the place is so clean and you hardly see any rubbish laying around. The cleaning workers must be working 24/7..
It's only when you travel to China you become aware what you are told in the West is Propaganda, It's a magical place to explore these series of videos have been fab x
You should take the time to watch some videos of "little Chinese everywhere "she travels to the most remote places around China . Her videos are very beautiful informative and heartwarming ❤️
Excited to see more and more international friends coming to visit China, not only in big cities but also smaller-ish places. I went to Li Jiang 15 years ago and thought it was very beautiful. The snow mountain near it is also nice.
What an amazing place!! Talk about sensory overload but in a good way! AND, that toilet placement in your room is hysterical!!! I burst out laughing! 😢That’s the kind of thing I would notice, too! You guys would be so fun to travel with. Keep traveling and be safe!
This was awesome. The city is beautiful. The tight buildings are awesome. I love how this is all set up. Quiet during the day but bustling during the evening. Your hotel is amazing, and loved the umm bathroom set up. lolol Matt's face is priceless. If I could travel like you both do. I'd be there in that city in a heartbeat. Thank you for taking us on an awesome adventure. Can't wait to see more.
Drink tea as spoken in these 2 China southern regions where last time foreign merchants came to trade for tea: 1. Kwangtung - Yum Cha 2. Fujian - Lim Teh So the words, products Cha + Teh spread across the world...
Such a beautiful video you created! Lijiang looks like a fairytale city. Definitely on my bucket list on my next trip to China. BTW the Greek word for "tea" is also "τσάι" (tsai). 🙂
What an interesting town, combination of modern and traditional. The drone shots with all the lights was beautiful. I don't know if you noticed but at the 15:06 mark you got photobombed by a cute young man. It gave me a chuckle. Thank you for all the work you do to put these videos together, I love seeing where you go and China is especially beautiful. I'm still waiting for you to go to Petra. 🙏🏼😌 I don't know if you're allowed to but I want to see inside not just the outside which is all I've seen in pictures. I'm fascinated with the fact that they built that "city" back when there were no real tools. It amazing.
Really enjoy your videos ‘C you threw in some good sarcasm once a while & fun to watch. Think you will be fine learning Chinese ‘c I can’t rolled or twist my tongue in trying Russian.
As a Chinese person who has never been abroad, I never realized that foreigners were so surprised by China until I started watching videos made by them. China's rapid development is something we have become accustomed to, and I used to subconsciously think that all countries around the world were developing at a fast pace because technology doesn't have significant barriers. However, after watching a series of videos recently, I discovered that this is not the case. This realization has actually had a reverse impact on us locals as well. Everyone is welcome to come and understand China, its rich cultural heritage, natural environment, and diverse landscapes.
What a magical town! It’s been on my list actually since reading a book about yunnan. You guys have done an excellent job of showing all its little curiosities and fascinating little shops etc. you look like you’re having a really good time which is so nice to see!❤

I was there last week. It is really gorgeous. And the most exciting part is climbing the Yulong Snow Mountain, which is a mountain covered by snow all year around due to its very high altitude. Beside, the blue moon lake is also very beautiful, very blue, which makes it unreal, like diamond. There, you can put on traditional cloth of Chinese minority groups, and take pictures with yak. At night, you can walk on the streets of this ancient town, and there are so many singers on the streets, you can join them, sing and dance. The vibe is amazing. I really enjoyed my stay there. Highly recommend people come and visit this amazing ancient town.

On the topic of tones, I've watched a video from Thai's got talent on RUclips. I knew nothing about the language, but the content was so interesting (with subs ofc), so I watched it many times, and I also mimicked how they say a couple of words. And for some reason, I started to pick up their tones without even intentionally trying to (and I don't even know how their tone markers goes on paper). So another time I was curious about that language and try to hear some words in some random lesson, I find that tones from these simple vocabularies are not that hard when trying to mimick it, because it's clear to my ear already from previous exposure. (Although vocabulary retention is another rabbit hole, but mimicking it is not difficult).
