Oh,1994 June I was here. I was coming here in a smocked train. Yes 31 years already. It's one of the impressive places while my 5 months journey with a big backpack and a small backpack and an eos 5 camera set bag and 100 rolls of positive 36mm films and some batteries.. totally about 20 kg. I was 30 and first trip alone in my life. And after that no more long journey, because it's enough memories for the whole life.
The beauty of China is not only the towering buildings and ancient palaces in the cities, but also more natural beauty. Congratulations on discovering these, but this is only a small part!
Wow! "Avatar" mountains are truly amazing and the rainy climate helps to give these places a special and magical touch! Love it! It is really a beautiful place. China is a nice surprise. Thank you very much. You are fantastic 🪻💕🍀
I love virtually traveling with you guys. From the comfort of my own couch, you take me to such amazing and interesting places. I don’t even have to wear my fancy pajamas! ❤
Breath Taking Landscape, Mountains, Rolling Hills, Avatar inspired us to go there as it did for you guys. Well done mates . Sending you much love 💞💞 from Harriet, jim and Yuki
I've never seen Avatar, so this was a revelation to me. What a beautiful, other worldly place. I can only imagine what a spiritual experience it would be to see it without the crowds.
Very beautiful when the clouds parted. Very peaceful too, at least from my sofa. China is very interesting and not what I thought at all. Thanks for sharing.
Reminds me of when I went fell walking in the Lake District for a week. Got to the top of all the mountains around Wasdale Head and couldn't see a thing, apart from mist. Love your videos Matt and Julia. You go to places which are so off the beaten track.
Omg Julia I hope you got to feeling better soon! This adventure was breath taking, even with the weather. I felt literally as I was back at Avatar again. It is real and sunning. You both did amazing with the filming and handling the weather. Be careful of what you eat and drink out there. I cannot wait for the next adventure. I am still in awe of those mountains. WOW!!
This reminds me of a time from my childhood. As a family we spent our Thanksgiving holiday at the Grand Canyon every year. Having gone so many times there was only one version of the Canyon my brothers, sister and myself had never seen. Finally one year it happened! I was so excited! The entire Canyon was full of clouds and occasionally a small hole would open where you could see to the bottom. After a few peeks thru a hole it dawned on me that many people came from all around the world for only one day and could see nothing. My heart broke for these people, but I will not lie (as Matt would say) I was on cloud nine for my siblings and me. Yes, that wording was intentional. Thank you both for sharing! Love to be the fly on the wall for your journeys.
Wow! Zhangjiajie is stunning! I wonder if it was the inspiration for the cover art of "London Philharmonic Orchestra Plays Pink Floyd", because the mountains and vegetation, with arch bridges and - yes - a dragon look like they could be straight out of there.
I never thought that I would see mountains like those, very unusual for sure. But absolutely awesome. Those people that you saw were so kind. Hope that you both enjoy the day.
On the contrary, green natural scenery like this in China with a little raining and foggy weather meets the way that Chinese appreciate. Many thousand-year-old poems that described China's mountainous landscapes and rivers were created in such condition. And I don't know if you guys had ended your China trip yet, if not, maybe consider going to visit Xinjiang, Yunnan, Gansu, Inner Mongolia and Xizang(Tibet), which would give you a different conception of how vast and diverse China is in terms of landscape.
@MattandJulia that's great news. The North East of Xinjiang, the grasslands, the lakes, the snow capped mountains, the sceneries in Xinjiang, its the most beautiful place in the world I think. Hope to see you there.
Now that's magic. Magical. I want to have a purple rain coat like you have Julia! Is that just your cameras filming? So many people! Avatar Mountains or rather chimney "trees"? Stunning. Thank you so much for sharing... wow.
Hahaha, those cameras are our film crew Linda, the life of an influencer 😉😁 So glad we could share it with you! And hopefully we will share it again soon 😉❤️❤️❤️
It is certainly a place that best visited when foggy and slightly drizzling!!! After watching this vlog I need to visit again at least one more time since my wife has not been here!!
That view was absolutely stunning. And Matt just as I was thinking the mist/clouds made it more beautiful and ethereal, you said something similar. I must say though that walk to the hotel would have put me off from staying there...Lol.
Hey Matt & Julia! What tickled me about this, was each time you both mentioned hoping to 'see something' my brain went straight to blue Avatar people in the forest (after they were mentioned beginning of the vlog)
First of all “Get well soon” I am sorry for the food poisoning you had. Try drinking plenty of lukewarm water to keep hydrated and for instance don’t eat spicy or oily food yet. Hope you get better. Well, glad you enjoy the trip to Zhangjiajie. Yes the Avatar mountains look amazing. Some people would like it a bit rainy and cloudy but others when it’s sunny. Anyway, enjoy the rest of your visit in China and looking forward to your next video. Take care! Cheers!
I have been this area since 1982. Mountains in foggy weather with mist is so much more interesting than in a sunny day. There are so many more beautiful places to visit in this NP than what most people showing in YT. I am wondering why.
Lovely video! Sorry to hear you got food poisoning...that ranks up there with one of the worst sicknesses to get because you just have to "ride through it".
I felt sad for you not getting nice weather so you can fully enjoy your trip. As far as the vlog is concerned I absolutely loved the fog.☺️ I don’t know if you guys ever been there but a place that looks eerie similar to this “Avatar” landscape and that I recommend visiting is Danube’s Cauldrons.
Thank you for encouraging my imagination! At first, the views were just like Mr. Magoo would have seen them! Haha, luckily, the sky cleared up and we could see that impressive landscape. Who knows, maybe in a year I'll be able to see it with my own eyes! Of course, I want to tour the park only in a palanquin! Regards from Sasha to both of you!
If there is one other place beside Zhangjiajie in China I’ll recommend Jiuzhaigou, it reminds me of the Banff national forest but much more delicate, almost like a designed manor of a deity
I went to Huangshan and it was raining, and foggy... I still liked the experience, so mysterious and reminded me of many Wuxia movies. Many legendary poems and drawings were created when the weather was foggy and misty. Clear weather is boring.
Weather will make or break yout trip, i learned that when we went to Costa Rica for 9 days, the day it was hit by only hurricane that hit CR ever 😂😂😂😂, it rained the whole time we were there. But every time it rains on vacation, i get to say Remember Costa Rica 😂😂😂😂
Im so sorry to hear that you got sick by the street food there. I saw you had some fruits and the fried dough. Which one do you think can be poisonous? I hope you both get better now.
Beautiful I was surprised how many people were still there in the rain. And may I say at my age just turned 70 I would not mind having somebody carry me. Not really wheelchair friendly.😊
Absolutely stunning. Would have been beautiful viewed in silence and far more awe inspiring but I doubt that would ever happen in china. Ty for another incredible tour. ❤
Mandarin is a spoken dialect of Chinese. Chinese is the standardized written language understood by all Chinese. 6 minutes into the video, weather in the mountains can change rapidly. Good luck.
More than 250 days out of a year has rains in Zhangjiagjie. It's annoying to catch rains when you travel there because you are not able to enjoy the limestone peaks. I went to Zhangjiajie with my father in 2018 and caught rains. We dressed up in raincoats and our shoes were soaked. The mist was so thick on top of the mountain, you couldn't see anything 20 meters away. The locals said April and September are the best time to travel in zhangjiajie. Because it has less rains than other months. I don't recommend to go there in low season
It's like Ireland all over again with the rain lollll In that white rain outfit you look like you are about to perform surgery ao spray paint a car. Joking apart i just wish i was there with you. . . my kind of holiday.
Written language was unified during the Qin Dynasty more than two thousand years ago. Officially, in China there are 56 recognized ethnic groups, with 8 different spoken languages, 302 individual living dialects, and 278 of which are indigenous. The five stars on the National Flag represent the five largest ethnic groups: Han Chinese, Zhuangs, Hui people, Manchus and Uyghurs.
You could feel the difference between travelling to Asian countries and European. Lush green forest here in Asia vs Dry stumps without leaves covered with snow there.
This place looks better in this rainy and foggy weather, it really creates the illusion that the mountains are 'floating' like those ones in Avatar.
Oh,1994 June I was here. I was coming here in a smocked train. Yes 31 years already.

this is one of the most nicely done video by foreign RUclipsrs showing their experience in China! Well done! Love it!
The beauty of China is not only the towering buildings and ancient palaces in the cities, but also more natural beauty. Congratulations on discovering these, but this is only a small part!
... and the love of peace of Chinese people.
So unique, no other place in the world is like this.
Wow! "Avatar" mountains are truly amazing and the rainy climate helps to give these places a special and magical touch! Love it! It is really a beautiful place. China is a nice surprise. Thank you very much. You are fantastic 🪻💕🍀
You're so lucky, to visit their in a foggy day when the mountains look like they are floating in the air.
It was so incredibly beautiful 🥰 It brought me to tears ❤️
I love virtually traveling with you guys. From the comfort of my own couch, you take me to such amazing and interesting places. I don’t even have to wear my fancy pajamas! ❤

Fantastic, the clouds were,,,, so so nice.
Wow, it's actually more beautiful in the cloud.
Very beautiful when the clouds parted. Very peaceful too, at least from my sofa. China is very interesting and not what I thought at all. Thanks for sharing.
Another beautiful place I will likely never be able to see in person. Really appreciate being able to tag along with you two. Thank you!
landscape is so surreal. wowwww
I think the steamy weather added extra atmosphere! Thanks for sharing this magical place with us ❤

Love the way you present the beautiful places you are going to and your sweet and innocent interactions with the locals 😍
WOW ,you went to Zhangjiajie in the right time!! Congratulations! This place is fairyland after rthe rain.
Wow! Zhangjiajie is stunning!
I wonder if it was the inspiration for the cover art of "London Philharmonic Orchestra Plays Pink Floyd", because the mountains and vegetation, with arch bridges and - yes - a dragon look like they could be straight out of there.
I think some thing literally can't be put into words.., this view is one of them..
The clouds just made the whole place better😮
I never thought that I would see mountains like those, very unusual for sure. But absolutely awesome. Those people that you saw were so kind. Hope that you both enjoy the day.
Wow! That is incredible! And what a beautiful sunset! Sorry you got sick, Julia!
wow just wow - ty so much for taking us all with you...
Thank you so much for being with us!! ❤️
Amazingly epic! China has very unique mountains and cultures. Thanks for sharing ☺️

Thank you for joining us Alejandro (Sorry, Sasha!)! ❤️ It would be incredible to share this place next year, it is so special 🥰❤️
So amazing ❤
Amazing Topography. Sure no sunny weather but who cares ? One of Earth's natural wonders.. Lovely film thank u both x
Zhangjiajie looks even more magical when covered in snow :)
We saw photos! Need to return for that 😍
@@MattandJulia I guess so and also there is a viewing elevator too.
Awesome epic !! Thank you !❤❤❤
So happy you enjoyed it!! ❤️❤️❤️
These scenes were drawn in many Chinese paintings in the past centuries.

Zhangjiajie is a famous place for tourists (include Korean tourists)
Another amazing adventure with you, just love it. Sorry to hear about you feeling ill. Love as always ❤❤
Matt the lilac mac would have suited you 🙂
Im so sorry to hear that you got sick by the street food there. I saw you had some fruits and the fried dough. Which one do you think can be poisonous? I hope you both get better now.
So so interesting...thank you..
Great video thanks
The mist playing on the mountain side is magical❤.
It was insanely beautiful! Like nowhere else we’ve ever seen! ❤️
Incredible!
So sorry you got sick, I hope your food poisoning ended with a quick recovery!
Beautiful

Amazing video, well done guys, simply outstanding 🤗🤗👍❤️❤️

Beautiful I was surprised how many people were still there in the rain. And may I say at my age just turned 70 I would not mind having somebody carry me. Not really wheelchair friendly.😊
Very beautiful from Pakistan
Eerily beautiful! 🤍💜
I know right, the clouds and mist added to the charm 😍❤️
Thanks for sharing!
Our pleasure! ❤️❤️❤️
Very mystical!

Have a good journey.
Amazing! ❤
Absolutely stunning. Would have been beautiful viewed in silence and far more awe inspiring but I doubt that would ever happen in china. Ty for another incredible tour. ❤
You can find little corners where the tourists don't go - it's a huge park and there are plenty of spots off the beaten paths - I was there.
@@spikermike2843 that’s great
great video
great
Thank you so much!! ❤️
Most gorgeous, incredible view...... (while wearing a poncho). I am so sorry, I really can't help cracking up.
Hahahaa, we thought the poncho added to the ambience 😉❤️
What is the best time to visit without the rain? Also what food to avoid😊
Even as a Chinese Im also confused about the buses. Its not organized well. Just came back from Zhangjiajie yesterday
Amazing ❤
Thank you, so glad we could share ❤️

Julia any idea where you got the food poisoning? Food stall in mountain or hotel?

Haha, a little harsh on Europe, they are very different, but it’s stunning too 😅
