Hi. Do you mean you'll just not show up for the joining flight? 🤔 If someone from the airline sees this video teaching people to do this, they might ban you from flying with them again.😅
There’s so much negativity about China in western media it will be great to see the country through your eyes. Looks like you’ve mapped a really interesting route. Looking forward to future episodes.. 😊❤
It's beyond "negativity" but well prepared (by PR companies & talking heads as well as those so-called Think Tanks) US led West anti-China propaganda with billions of budget to spend for the purpose of disinform people who consume western media. And it's beyond just media propaganda but a system that serves it.
@@NeoTemplarHow is China your enemy? Did they invade your country? Did they assassinated your Minister of Defense or did China over turn your government?
Skiplagging!! high five ✋ 😂those prices make no sense, but that’s not our fault lol BUT, make sure you don’t do it often, especially on the same airlines.
Take excellent care . I know the Shanghai airport… so beautiful. And my life long best friend resides there. Beautiful people. Contact me if you need a local to assist !
Quite easy actually, we gathered our documents and submitted them at an application centre in London (it has the be submitted in your home country), then it was ready to collect 3 days later ❤️
I suspect the cheaper price was because a lot of airlines are struggling due to sanctions, so any flights through their many smaller airports brings in some revenue, but a lot of chinese airlines are struggling with mainetance and parts, so I would highly recommend you guys fly on a non chinese airline, also I am surprised you guys are travelling like this at a time when it is so dangerous for foreigners over there
Harriet and I have traveled all over China. Shanghai being one of the largest financial centers in the world. We enjoyed our time at Jade Buddha Temple , Yu Garden and The Bund. Hope you got to visit there. If you are into Disney . Disneyland is there. Not as popular as the other Disney's around the world. There are many other things to do. I'm sure you found them. Sending you much love❤❤ from Washington DC Harriet, Jim and Yuki P.S. Will you be coming to America any day soon.
I really love your videos, and I enjoy how truthful you are in your observations. I have always wanted to take a holiday in China, and after seeing this video it is definitely on my to-do list!
Oh no, guys don't say that! I'm so bad with jet lag and I'm flying to Shanghai next month, for the first time in China. Also, on that note, please give us more tips about the apps you use etc.
anda harus pergi dan tinggal ditiongkok, anda baru tau bagaimana, bersih, aman dan makmurnya tiongkok serya orangnya yg ramah, masyarakat mencerminkan pimpinannya
Just an advice. Next week is China national holidays and everywhere will be busy and crowded. Trains will be packed with local travellers. Many restaurants may close too as staff travel back home for holiday.
If your flight is to Beijing, then your checked-in luggage will land in Beijing. You will not get your luggage in Shanghai if you decide to exit in Shanghai? Unless you have no checked-in luggage.
This was awesome and what a deal from 700 to 300 on the flight! i am loving the city and cannot wait to see more. Thank you both for taking us on this awesome adventure. I love learning new cultures. Be safe and have fun!
Skipping a second leg of a flight for a better price on the first leg is quite the game in the US. Some airlines are banning repeat offenders but there is nothing illegal about it. Do you miss the polar bears.😱😂
This is probably one of the only china vlogs from westerners that doesn't have the title like "People warned us not to travel to China" or something like that. LOL, kudos.
It is called YIELD MANAGEMENT: the more people buy tickets to Shanghai, the more they will charge. The less people go to Beijing, the less they will charge. Actual costs do not matter anyway, they are probably in no relation to what you fly nowadays... Enjoy China! (use trains btw, they are MUCH better than flying!)
oh lordy, i'd only skiplag on an airline i didn't care about flying in again and there are many countries i wouldn't do it in, china being one of them! glad you're okay! as for the flight price - airlines do this to to get bums on seats on their planes from places they wouldn't otherwise - the cheap ticket entices people flying from london (lots of people, high income) to travel with china eastern to beijing via shanghai, rather than take a more expensive but direct flight with a competitor. now, idk when you flew, and china eastern now have a direct flight from london to beijing (as of june), but even if it was after that, i'd guess those indirect routes had been in the books for a while, and the cheaper price still means that china eastern gets ++ passenger count against their competitors. so, nothing to do with sanctions, like someone else suggested...*as if" china of all places is having a problem with sourcing parts for their planes or materials to make them (!!!)
I'm Chinese, and in China we usually don't say hello to strangers unless I need help from strangers for something. In addition, many Chinese people have the habit of spitting outdoors, but they are not allowed to spit indoors. Many people have this habit, but it is not recommended.
Every traveler to China has stressful arrival. No stress at all if traveling to EU, United Slums of America, UK, and other countries, NO PASSPORT NEEDED.
This is entirely due to the hostility of the United Kingdom and the United States towards China. For unfriendly countries, of course, strict censorship
So we changed polar bears for Pandas! Great !! looking forward to this series from China..... A very important question.... Do people spit on the ground like in Beijing or only at turists ?? ha ha love from Buenos Aires
Nice to see China again. Will there be more Central Asian countries? I liked Turkmenistan, perhaps Tajikistan? And how's things with North Korea? Are they still closed to tourists?
China has 144 free visa is a sign that we want you to come and see the country, nothing to hide. I can just pop up and like tons of young vloggers today roaming the country. See the country before it’s too late… I mean our mindset lags too far behind. Like huawai comes up with a trifold phone or something 😊
My tip for jetlag going east is to stay awake on the plane - arrive am and plough through till as close to normal bedtime as you can manage.... by that time you are so knackered you will sleep - then get up at normal time. Boom! It's always worked for me.
Istanbul doesn't have cheap flights east ? You live there, gateick such a detour or maybe visit relatives ? Shanghai to Being by rail ? Sounds little complicated !
Interesting video. How was the air quality? With so many new electric vehicles on the road, I was wondering if you could tell if the air seemed cleaner given you’d been to China before.
You guys seem to be quite clever and even know how to game the booking system of air tickets. The travel in China is not that difficult as long as you know some basic Mandarin. I have seen many western RUclipsrs eat a lot of carbs shown in their videos during the Chinese trips. Actually you have a lot of choices for vegetables too and having a balanced diet is in fact easier and way more affordable than in the US Uk or other European countries.
@MattandJulia Ah yes... that makes very good sense! Of course...clear Immigration and Customs in the first port of entry. Congrats! 👏 (and love the vlog)
When you arrive in Shanghai, taking the high-speed train is not only a faster option but also more economical, and you can even enjoy the scenery along the journey.
God bless skiplagging. Makes you feel like a champ when you find one. Just beg checkin staff to check you in so far... i.e dropping stuff to your mate that lives there or go hand luggage. Well done guys
You’re not quite in the city centre, it’s considered ‘midtown’ in Shanghai. The real downtown is down where the Bund is, so much more flavour there. I stayed in huahai road near former French area, absolutely beautiful. The bund gives you a view of the pearl tower. Take the train and go see the bund!
One way I always use to overcome the time difference is that follow the local time no matter how exhausted you are, follow the local time to sleep and wake up, then your biological clock will be coordinate with the local time the next day.
