Your explanations really are really clear lol, I find myself searching up your videos before other people's explanations when I'm trying to learn something new. Thank you very much!
@@A_T216 That means a lot to me. ❤️ I try to be that way in my patterns, too!
Finally I understand! After watching many videos on short rows, what a brilliantly concise & clear explanation. Thankyou so much!!
You're a great teacher! I'm so glad I clicked on your helpful video first. Thank you!!
I never even understood what a short row or wrap and turn was supposed to do! You explained it so simply! Thank you!!!
THANK YOU! This is one of the best tutorials on knitting that I have seen--so short and to the point.
Thank you! This was extremely clear and offered an explanation of why as well as how, which made the whole thing make sense. I also really appreciate that you use different-colored yarn - another video I watched had bright yellow yarn, and I could not for the life of me actually differentiate what was happening.
I’m so glad it was helpful!! 🎉
This has been the best explanation so far - many thanks!
This is the clearest short row demonstration I’ve ever seen. Straightforward and concise. Thank you so much.
Aw, thank you!!!
This is a great and simple video. Thank you for giving me a light bulb moment for my knitting.
Thank you so much for making this video. You make it so clear and now makes me want to try it instead of avoiding patterns with W&T. Thank you Gem aka Snuggly Stars
Most succinct, quick and clear tutorial on short rows that I've seen. Explaining the "why" always makes it easier to understand the "how". Thank You!
Thank you so much! I love the why, too!! :-)
Thank you sooooo much!!! I had been afraid to try short rows until your CLEAR explanation....no more fears here!!!!
before i found your clear, to the point video, i tried to watch someone's 10 minute trip to nowhere. thank you!
Best video for sure. It really shouldn't take 10 minutes only to still be just as confused as to the WHY the method is done.
Thanks you for this video, it is extremely clear and very simple, much appreciate.
I love that you explain "why"!! Thank you very much. Deborah Sundes
❤️
Fantastic, this is the only video that actually explains why we do this. Other videos explain how to do it but never why so I was scratching my head trying to understand the purpose of it. Thanks!
Aw, thanks!!! I’m so glad it helped!!
Oh wow, you made that very easy to follow, thank you.
Yay!!! Great!
So nice that this is quick and straight to the point.Thank you
Glad to help!! 👍🏼
Great video! Thank you for using thicker yarn and a close up. Very clear directions!
2 minutes video and now I know what I'm doing and why. Thank you!
Yay!!!
This was a great video. Right to the point and explained something other videos take more than twice the time to show. Thanks!
I can’t express how thankful I am that I came across this video. I just purchased two sweater patterns and they call for short rows and “German short rows” and I have no idea what I’m doing yet! This definitely cleared up tons of confusion for me! Thank you! 🖤
Laura Roberts Hooray!!!
One of the clearest tutorials out there💥👏🏻👍🏻Thanks!
I can't begin to tell you how helpful that was!! I was so intimidated because I didn't understand them, but now I do! Thank you!
Absolutely the BEST tutorial on short rows! Thank you!
This is great news! Fearless knitting is my goal for everyone!
All I needed was a clear video! Thanks. I have watched many on this topic and this one is the best?
You did an excellent job with this video. Right to the point and very clear. Thank you.
oh my goodness!! thank you so much! I have the flu so I'm trying to knit a surgical mask and this was exactly what I needed to learn! you're so awesome!!
Excellent. Very clear, concise.
I agree with all the people saying that it was so clear and concise, no need to make it more complicated. Thank you!!
Thanks!
Cynthia Spencer
Excellent video! It was very helpful to know why one would want to do a wrap (I.e. the function of a wrap) before showing us how it’s done. Amazing!
Yay! I like the "why" along with the "how." It helps me remember. Glad it worked for you, too!
I can watch this on my iphone due to the yarn color variation - super easy to see the work, thank you.
Terrific! I didn't even plan that! :-)
Genial!!! Short and very clear explained. thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing this. I decided to knit for the first time in my life like 3 days ago but I love it so much
Best w&t I have watched. Thank you!
Excellent explanation! Thank you...I have put it on my favorites because I am still new to short rows.
Thank you!! I just bought a beautiful "honeycomb baby blanket" pattern from my local yarn store. My anxiety shot through the roof when they brought the pattern's short rows to my attention. They assured me it would become apparent and not at all scary once I started knitting the intermediate-beginner pattern, but I was still afraid to even begin until after seeing your amazing video. (BTW - the tone of your voice and delivery was super helpful in addition to the extremely clear demonstration!)
Well. You just made my day. 💕💕💕Thank you. Enjoy the blanket!
Thank you! I love that it is clear, simple, and short (pun intended). :-) I'm off to do short rows!
Hi Cynthia your clip was just so easy to follow......l was really stumped until then I'm trying to knit a chook for my grand daughter :-)
Thank you so much
Linda
Great Cyntia, I am beginer, n only with your tutorial i can get click on my head. And I am soooo Satisfied....Thank you. ..
I wish you can give us some knitting technic tutorial for shaping the sleeve.. Button holes etc.
How kind of you. Thank you. I will keep those ideas in mind!
Clear and simple. I continue to wonder why videos begin with what NOT to do instead
of just showing HOW TO DO IT RIGHT! Thanks.
Thank you! I get impatient watching videos, and i assume that others do too!
Very helpful and clear!! Thank you. I needed this to help shave the shoulder part of a sleeve
Yay! So you know, I have an ebook on Ravelry called the Sweater with the Best Fit Ever that might be interesting to you.
fantastic vid! thank you! I KNEW there was a way to do it without all the holes!
Awesome! That "wrap and turn" I kept hearing about sounded a bit scary, but thanks to your video it's perfectly clear. Going to tackle that short-row shawl I've been wanting to knit!
Great teaching voice, excellent thorough instruction
So clear! Thank you so much!
Wow you made that simple! Thank you!

At last, I understand!!
🎉🎉🎉
This is so helpful! Thank you!
Thank you! This was so helpful. :D
Very clear: thanks for posting
Glad it helped!
Thank you, this is very helpful!
Terrific!
Thank you for being so straight forward, excellent tutorial! Can you or anyone else help this newbie with her first short row? Short row 1: knit 32 (336, 40, 44), wrap stitch, turn. I'm lost after knit 32! Thanks in advance to anyone who maybe able to help!
Thanks! Glad it helped! After you knit the 40ish stitches and wrapping and turning, then you continue knitting back to the edge from whence you came! :-)
I am confused because some people like Very Pink knits show that you move the yarn towards you first then you slip the stitch then you move the yarn away from you and then move the stitch back. so can you tell me why you only move the yarn once? Does it make a difference? Also I would like to know if you do it the same on the purl side?
Thank you for your video it was so very helpful I tried and tried but it just didn't make sense, but with your video everything falls into place
I'm so happy to hear that! Yay!
well there you go! thanks!
Very good.Thank you very much
So great, thank you! I like yr voice as well
I try my best to live up to the "Really Clear" brand name!
Thank for explaining and showing the WHY the wrap & turn is used.
@Cynthia Spencer You succeeded!
Well, you nailed it!
THANK YOU!!!
Thank you! Glad it helped!
yes, so clear and you are so right. Lets go make some short rows!! bebebelinda
Excellent!
Perfect 🙌🏽
Thx for this vid. Would you also know how to "unwrap" the same stitch? I am following a pattern that instruct me, after knit so many short rows doing kw&t, to then do un&t. below are the instructions, word-for-word.
Row 1 (RS) Knit to the last st, W&T.
Row 2 Purl to the last st, W&T.
Row 3 Knit to the 1st St before the last wrapped st, W&T.
Row 4 Purl to the last wrapped st, W&T.
Continue as established until there are 10 wrapped sts on each side. (Each side meaning each of needle 3 & 4 to turn the heel of a pair of stocking I am knitting). The pattern continue to read as such: Row 1 (RS) Knit to 1st wrapped st, UW, W&T.
Row 2 Purl to the 1st wrapped st, UW, W&T.
Row 3 Knit to the next wrapped st, UW, W&T.
Row 4 Purl to the next wrapped st, UW, W&T.
Continue until all sts are unwrapped. Resume working in the round.
Could assist clearing this up for me, I never heard of or seen anyone, "unwrap" a stitch. Thank you
Thank you. I was stuck!
brilliant, thank you!
That is my whole shtick! ;-)
im ok with wrap and turn until i have to k1, wrap & turn then k1. not sure how to wrap with the last stitch. end up with a slipped stitch on the right needle with the yarn at the front between the last 2 stitches. not sure what to do here. can anyone help?
Terrific!
Thank you!!! :D
was looking to see how you knit the WRAP after turning. Lots of talk though.
Awesome ty
Thank you. Can I use this approach to make mitered corners on the border for a blanket I have already knitted? I will pick up and knit for the border.
Many Roads to Reading Google “How to knit a mitered edge on a blanket.” The blog by Ramona French shows a few good alternatives that work!
@@CynthiaSpencer Thank you!
I love that you show why it has to be done. But you stop too soon -- and are coy about picking up the wrap! There's still an extra bit of yarn (which doesn't show much in garter stitch, but would be ugly in stockinette) -- the wrap -- that has to be assimilated in some way when you next knit the whole row.
Evie Hammond I️ agree I️ believe there is another part to this that wasn’t demonstrated I️ts in a pattern I’m reading and was hoping to see the demonstration
Thanks...
Was too fast for me whilst looking at mine and trying to follow it. Couldn't get it
Start by just watching the video a few times, without trying to knit, just to absorb the concepts. Then after you think you understand, try it with yours. I agree that you wouldn't be able to follow it and look at yours, especially at first! It would be information overload!
Which is done by now? :-)
Incomplete instructions. You must show how to get rid of the wrap on the next row knitting back.
