Not all social skills are normie traits, stuff like probing people for new (to you) experiences + sharing idea is useful and cool. So you lose some positives and negatives when your social skills are lower. Basically normies pick up social skills in a non-agentic manner, through intuition, so they pick up both the positive and the negatives. People say the Brony Documentary (with Discord voice actor) was patronizing, but I thought it was fine enough, they included many different types of bronies like the british kid with aspergers, The Living Tombstone, the kid with conservative dad, the rural guy with ponies on his car (seriously, awesome, that guy was most interesting out of the bunch for me), TheManliestBrony too. Would have liked to have at least one Military Brony get a segment in there, but at least they were mentioned (passingly). Makes very much sense why jake the army guy would get particularly ticked about that stereotype, since he worked hard getting fit + fulfilling army duties for years, worked to not be "weak", succeded and is confident enough in himself to be public about his show love. So when people judge him off of a stereotype like that they're spitting in the face of all his work.

When faced with long hours and the constant stress of knowing that every decision you make could be life and death, it's good to have a release. In Iraq I new guys that would have regular Disney movie nights, or other "children's " entertainment. That's right it's really rare in my opinion to have a cartoon series that has quality writing and voice acting in it. Heck when I first got into it I just started doing RUclips videos during the same year and I had in mind to do blind commentary videos on the show but not right away because of my shyness. But now I'm doing blind commentary videos on the show. I started with Crusaders of the Lost Mark just to test to see how my at the time current subscribers would react to it. And beginning with the season premiere I began to do blind commentaries on the show weekly. I am a more happier and confidant person than I was before I got into My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.
I love how Jake also has the Umbrella logo on his vest. As if you can't get any more awesome then Metallica, Motorcycles, MLP, and Military, he has a good taste in games.

Well, people want to see "weird" stuff in the news. And, news flash, being a brony IS kind of weird. At least they finally interviewed the sort of normal brony so many of you have been screaming that they interview. Too bad more bronies aren't like that military brony. Military bronies are the only type of brony I've actually enjoyed hanging out with in this fandom.
I don't believe anyone thinks about out of shape basement dwellers when they think of Brony's. What that guy's describing are guys that are into comics, gamers, and action figures. Thinking about a Brony would evoke things like gays not out of the closet, sexual deviants, and other mental illnesses where you're living out a life as a little girl. I'm not saying at all that's what I think/believe, just saying from what I've always heard, a Brony is in no way looked upon the same as the perpetual action figure collecting 40 year old virgin. You should absolutely be unapologetic in whatever brings you joy. You do you; but it is very unusual for a man (or even little boy) to gravitate towards My Little Pony, when there's a million other more "appropriate" things to be into. It's just very psychologically interesting.
I totally agree with those two people talking about Pokémon. This series and MY LITTLE PONY totally changed my life and I still even keep playing the old versions of pokémon. Emerald is my personal favorite.
im 32 year old woman and i started watching my love pony just to make sure its something i want my kid watching and i actually got sucked into it and ended up watching all the seasons
the thing that attracts older people specifically men to FIM as well is the writing too, the humor and comedy. im two seasons into MLP:FIM and i noticed they take the wackiness up a notch which i love so much.
Have you guys heard of Blogologues?? They have a sketch comedy show in NYC that includes a rap that teaches people about Bronies. Their next show opens May 8th! Check 'em out!!
Eh, the whole time whole time they talked you can they are thinking what in the world am I doing and it was even more awkward they they tried playing off that they were Bronies now, when they know nothing about the show. I just wish the media would leave us alone and let people find us on their own and form their own opinions.
Being a Brony is no different than being part of any other social group. Ive been part of the fandom, since G1. I thought this experience was Hilarious: while I was on facebook, when some kid's grandparent tried telling me, that we're part of a Cult :)
Glad to see the comments are full of reasonable people. Most of the time, videos about bronies are hater rallies. As a brony, I get bombared with hatred just for liking it. Anti-bronies are some of the biggest hypocrites out there. Acting like they're the definition of mature when they talk like 12 year old wiggers. I love MLP. It's a great show & I wanna hug the ponies. I'm not a fat neckbeard, nor do I wear a fedora or live in a basement. I also find cloppers to be disgusting. I'm very clean cut & am tough when I need to be. Yes I like MLP, I wanna hug the ponies, I love the Rainbow Rocks soundtrack, & I wanna kiss the Equestria Girls. To this day not 1 anti-brony has said their bullshit to my face.
I used to be one. Got bored and left a huge chunk of it behind. I still have some connections with it, though I'm not really that interested in the show anymore...
One thing I know for sure that the news got wrong about bronies and mlp, DONT LOOK AWAY! this is not hate. All I want to say is that the show is not exactly completely centered around little girls, the toys are for sure but the show itself is in its own way for men, one anti-brony asked someone who makes the show what they think about teen to grown men watching their show for little girls, the woman had something to say. "My Little Pony is not made for little girls, it is made for little girls and their parents to enjoy. And that does include men." Those are not the exact words but that is the gist of it. I am happy to see a general kindness and sort of understanding rise from much of society. It warms my heart. keep it up people. Women are treated fair, blacks are treated fair, hell gays are treated fair by general society, these to many people are subgroups within society, bronies are a subgroup. I also have noticed the red line under the word brony, lets get the word into webster dictionary lol.
I have newfound respect for the show thanks to the recent MLP: The Movie, but I say it's a show that exists and I enjoy these adventures the characters go on, but I don't really go that far in terms of merchandise or clothing. I consider myself a casual fan.
Been a brony since October 2011. 6 cons, have handled for djs and met most of the show staff. To those questioning why; why do you enjoy Disney/Pixar films, loony toons, marvel movies/comics? You do because they're fun, adventurous and an escape from reality. It's the same for us. We enjoy a show; do we have our issues? Yea; so does the anime community, furries and gaming communities. For the most part it's just people simply enjoying something. If you don't like it; cool. WE'RE NOT BOTHERING YOU
Why the hell do you hate ALL of us? What about the people who just watch the show? I personally don't like the cosplayers, or the people who buy all the toys, and go to the conventions. But I deal with them. Now, hate on the cloppers, and the hyper-addicts. The addicts are the ones who try to transform others.
Im so happy i got tara strong autograph for cheap and she called me cute shes the best actor i ever met i say good bye to her at fanexpo 2023 in denver best birthday ever

Guess what!! I'm become the next generation Brony as I'm moving forward to new series of MLP called: Pony life!!! Let's go!!!
I love how Jake also has the Umbrella logo on his vest. As if you can't get any more awesome then Metallica, Motorcycles, MLP, and Military, he has a good taste in games.
D'aww, thank you!
No problem.
I'm a My Little Pony fan also
Same
OOOOHHHHH!! Jacob is the boss! Wow ABC featured Equestria Daily as well the most popular fan website for Bronies. This is what i like about the news kind to our fandom not like FOX News the most retarded news. Most of the millitary are also part of fandom and sometimes protect our fandom as well. Take that haters! Haters gonna Hate. Deal with it. :P Oh Brohoof to anypony /)
Did you just say most of military is a Bronie lol? Your guys fandom is given so much hate for no reason but saying that is a little ridicule.
(\ I'll Hoof to that! I'm so glad i said it last time they talked about a Ponycon, it really is nice how its becoming less "Wrong" to be and older fan male or female.
PEG FourHundred
There is "questionable porn" marketed towards alot of pop culture phenomenons, why should My Little Pony be any different?Yeah, there are probably some MLP Bronies that ARE mentally disturbed, but that doesn't mean all of them are..I think it's cool that some of these guys in their 20's and 30's are into MLP,I've been a MLP fan since I was a kid..my personal view is,if you don't like it and think it's weird or stupid or whatever, then here's an idea IGNORE IT..I go on Equestria Daily at least once a week, and I belong to a Facebook MLP group..I
Beth Goldstein
Agreed..I myself would LOVE to go to Ponycon..I could drop some cash there :)
I raise a hoof to you :)
A Brohoof to anypony..love you guys :D
Hah! I'm featured doing my trademark pose at 4:06!
I loved your cosplay at the fashion show! (I'm Chelsea!)
Thank you! Hope I made you laugh!
You really did!
Omfg why can't you just leave the fandom alone ugh.
I know right
Well, people want to see "weird" stuff in the news. And, news flash, being a brony IS kind of weird. At least they finally interviewed the sort of normal brony so many of you have been screaming that they interview. Too bad more bronies aren't like that military brony. Military bronies are the only type of brony I've actually enjoyed hanging out with in this fandom.
Leave Britney alone! I'm serious!
I'm a pegasister it's so much fun i love how sweet it is and how catchy the song is.
THANK YOU! MLP IS SUCH A GOOD SHOW
I'm 12 almost 13. Pegasister!
I have to wait next year to officially be a pegasister
And who in all of Equestria made up that rule? You can be a pegasister or brony no matter what your age, gender, religion, race, etc.
The Brony Society For Acceptance and Friendship
No, we are pegasister it's just we are fillies. Da fudge and eh tolkang arbot enomar
#Yourockgirl!
Happy belated birthday!
I’m a brony. Who else is a brony?
Me
same here
✋
Get help
This guy is great did an amazing job on highlighting the truness of the brony fandom
To be honest this fandom makes me really happy, seeing all of these people enjoying my little pony makes me really happy. I just love it so much😊
love this cheers from another brony
Not often times you see the news media support the fandom. Very nice of you ABC News.
none of this would be happening without our savior Lauren Faust
2:35 lol that's AnimatedJames
Dressed as the Rapper Pinkie Pie from "Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3!"
I HAD A FEELING!!!!!! XDXDXDXD
I love mlp, even though I'm going into my teen years, I still love it.
i wish the brony comvetions were closer still that guy did good a job answering the questions showing the reporter the fandoms
not full of creeps
It's good to see that bronies are now becoming a little bit more accepted to the world. It's nice :)
Have you guys heard of Blogologues?? They have a sketch comedy show in NYC that includes a rap that teaches people about Bronies. Their next show opens May 8th! Check 'em out!!
Maybe I will. Sounds interesting.
This was honestly such a nice news report. No mockery, just unbiased news, exactly how it should be, I actually really enjoyed watching this
Wish we had more news like this.
Yea
You forgot three words Friend ship is magic
You typed it as 4 words. DING! (*sin counter*) lol
Finally something positive about bronies
i am sure comes the one day when people will understand mlp fans and otakus
Hopefully so!! My old science teacher hates bronies for some reason. xD
Once again not looking at the comments section. I know what's going to be there.
Well done, way to go into it with an open mind.
i am a kid brony, bet you never saw a 9 year old brony, have you?
Awe this was amazing I'm happy someone from the news isn't all against mlp fim
1. My name is jake he is a disgrace
2. Don't tell me a solider is a brony
BlackGryph0n: Navy; JoshScorcher: marines; Me: Air Force. You were saying?
A soldier is a mega brony.
That's ok, as long as you don't go and hate the fandom you're fine :)
2:38 My Little Pony:TNG confirmed. xD
MY LITTLE PONY IS THE BEST!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm Proud To Be A Brony I'm Collect Them For My Collections I'm Love My Little Pony.
Cosplayers really give bronies an awkward image.
I personally appreciate fanart the most, not including R34 of course.
I have newfound respect for the show thanks to the recent MLP: The Movie, but I say it's a show that exists and I enjoy these adventures the characters go on, but I don't really go that far in terms of merchandise or clothing. I consider myself a casual fan.
BRONY FOR LIFE!!!
You said it
Well said Eric Flynn, well said
Poor guy, all the wars messed up his brain
I'm really surprised at how positive this is
I Kinda Feel Bad For Jake The Army Guy I Couldn’t Image If The Soldiers Made Fun of Him During Service
Gonna be a military brony as well, joining the coast guard (when i can :/)
Hey I'm in the military and I love MLP. I even met some guys at training who are fans of the show to. Us Bronies are everywhere.
Respect to you for not making a story that is a deliberate bash on the fandom.
WE'RE NOT BOTHERING YOU
See a soilder stand's for his country and bronys
Why the hell do you hate ALL of us? What about the people who just watch the show? I personally don't like the cosplayers, or the people who buy all the toys, and go to the conventions. But I deal with them. Now, hate on the cloppers, and the hyper-addicts. The addicts are the ones who try to transform others.
Uhhm, why should they stop hating "ALL of us" but hate the cloppers and hyper-addicts?
Willscarlet88 I mean it in the way that we aren't all the freaks that everyone hates. So they shouldn't hate all bronies, just the few freaks.
Nothing even wrong with cloppers.
Max Alex Berndt
Nah I dont think they're "freaks" either.
I don't "hate" the cloppers I generally just say do your thing but keep it to yourself bro.
it's crazy that they didn't say RARITY
It’s not about what you look like on the outside, it’s of question of what’s on the inside, the psychology is bizarre and in question. 1:53
Im so happy i got tara strong autograph for cheap and she called me cute shes the best actor i ever met i say good bye to her at fanexpo 2023 in denver best birthday ever
