The biggest reason why The Virgin King is able to go through life as delusional and out of touch as he is, is that he's got marks asking him questions like "How proud would 14 year old you be now?" when the AEW empire is burning around him. Tony Khan is *terrified* of Cornette. Not so much his fanbase, I don’t think but Corny himself. He’s only ever said that he doesn’t always agree with all of Corny’s takes whereas he’s opened fire on everyone else with no filters. He’s scared of Corny. Notice also how nobody from AEW ever goes after Corny anymore, not even the EVPs? Moxley NEVER mentions Corny by name. That’s a managerial edict. The only guy at AEW that I could see firing back at Corny now is Jericho and even he’s cut down on it

Not a wrestling fan anymore, but in the 90’s when I was a kid, Disco was one of my favorite wrestlers. He was hilarious and he was decent in the ring. Most importantly, he was OVER. The crowd loved him. Half the crowd disco danced when that music hit. Go back and watch if you don’t believe it.

I ABSOLUTELY remember the time when Disco Inferno was in the main event scene in WCW when he tried to get into the nWo Red and Black with Konnan and fought in the main event against I believe Kevin Nash and everyone in the arena was 110% behind him-- that is the power of a comedy midcarder who is booked correctly (ala R-Truth or even Santino Marella) getting over with the crowd.
Wrestling needs these LEVELS to their entertainers, everyone can't be a Tribal Chief but there is always going to be a demand for a segment with R-Truth or Disco Inferno where the kids in the crowd or casual fans will wake up from Paint By Numbers matches to advance storylines to get them entertained and excited about the product. Sad that Tony Khan doesn't know how to book complex style like this yet after 4 years

this isn't really about the topic on hand but Tony Khan's booking of World's End was so bad. Samoa Joe being your top guy going into the new year is a really bad look. Plus that finish to Edge vs Christian made me roll my eyes so much that i think i have a neck injury.
He's even saying that he has people helping him book like Bryan Danielson, Den Malenko, Jimmy Jacob's and a couple of other guys... But I still can't tell the difference because world's end was awful... Chris Jericho's sins are catching up to him and he was booed hard against the Don Callous family and he had to get out of the ring to save the perception of the match... Same old crap and no improvements at all...

I'll say this til the day pro-wrestling dies. Tony Khan had a SLAM DUNK opportunity to absolutely smash the main event of Wembley with Omega/Punk if he would have "Vince McMahoned-it" and demanded they work together cuz it would have been best for business at that time. No shade to MJF or Adam Cole or Samoa Joe but they had it fall in their hands. The backstory was there, the animosity was there, the talent was there, and the match was right fn there. But I get it, I do, but idk, all I saw were dollar signs the second Wembley was announced.

Fantastic idea (except for the dance off thing), but unfortunately Cornette would never do it. Bischoff might do it, but not with Russo involved. So it would have to be just Konnan, Disco, and either Russo or Bischoff. It would still be huge money though. Someone should pitch it to Tony.
I'm not a Disco mark by any means, but he's done a thousand times more for the business than Tony. All Tony's ever done of substance is waste his dad's money.
I'm the AEW base, seen every Dynamite and Collision, even went to the first Dynamite in DC. Just so you know I don't hate Disco, Corny or anyone else that critiques AEW.
