Going down the LEGO rabbit hole

- I’ve been offered paid collaborations for all sorts of crazy things, but this one was truly intriguing. If you haven’t heard of the rabbit r1 yet, go check it out: shorturl.at/tESV0
And while you’re there, check out their amazing world of AI rabbit companions that live in their OS. Their style and design caught my attention. And although I haven't had a chance to play with the device yet (it was officially released 3/31/24) I genuinely think it has amazing potential, and I've pre-ordered mine.
But what sealed the deal on this collab was that rabbit wasn't looking for a LEGO replica of the r1 (which I would have turned down). They were looking for something inspired by it. Throw in how geometric their rabbits are, their concept of the ‘rabbit hole’ in their OS, my own (tempered) optimism about AI, and the fact that caveman literally begged me to do it…and I was sold.
My friends, I give you the r1 rabbit in LEGO bricks. It was a journey, but ultimately caveman was got what he was after.

That split-second flicker at the end from caveman to spaceman left me wanting a ‘Lego 2001: A Space Odyssey’ movie. 😮
The journey of caveman continues
Lego ain't cheap. Let the creator get some brick 💰
Hi! Can I know the brand of the gloves you use? I would like to buy them for my work. Thanks!
Hey bro how do you get a 1x5 lego piece? Do those even exist or did you have to custom order or 3d print them?
They're relatively new. Been out for a little longer than a year.
Got introduced with vidiyo i think
The plates exist, so the brick has been relegated to the "like that'll ever happen" field of the Bricklink Studio Part Designer.
They're expensive, and on bricklink.com, but are a game changer for some of my builds
Huh. Nice build with those smooth curves as always.
I'm... Literally not sure what the product is? Like yeah your sponsorship here doesn't explain, but it did the job and made me curious. So I followed the link, hopefully that helped support you. And. I still don't understand what the product is, after looking at their site, lmao??
It's a beautifully designed and well-engineered pocketable device which connects to an LLM over WiFi the same exact way your phone could do if the software wasn't locked to this specific device.
@@dimitribarronmore In layman's terms: a Personal Directive Assistant (PDA) device with a custom LLM app built onto it.
@@PaulZeroSolisIn all fairness to Rabbit, there is a little more to it than /just/ being an AI companion device. The real draw of the r1 isn't the device itself so much as the fact it gives you access to the software, and the software is actually using a novel technique. It's more or less the same end result as an LLM, and I'm almost certain a lot of the language processing they're touting uses an LLM, but the core functionality is based around an "LAM" or "Large Action Model." Basically, they came to the conclusion that trying to manage automation through a text interface is a horrible idea given how unreliable LLMs are and how limited text is as a medium, so their particular neural network is based directly on tying natural language to human-computer interactions. Mouse and keyboard kind of stuff. It's novel, but the fact it's based around a bespoke device which has all the specs of a phone but isn't a phone seems weird to me.
It's just a crappy smartphone marketed with buzzwords
Portable AI personal assistant basically.
Not one of your usual videos, but very intriguing! Well done! 👍😊
Why do you wear gloves? Is it to stop your hand from becoming sore from the Lego edges when handling them?
$200(not including tax) for a AI voice chat? Brother-man there are apps that produce the same results on the phone. The point of the smart phone is to mitigate the amount of crap we had to carry in the past. :/
Not for chatting, it's a personal assistant.
@@ImmortalAbsol Like Siri or Alexa, or even Google Assistant? Again all free.
@@GUNS_jk maybe u should research a little more about it. theres alot of cool things it can do.
@@Rubiksmagnetic Like what?
@@GUNS_jk it Can calculate the distance between ur locating and let’s say a Burger King, and then it can call an Uber from ur location to the Burger King in split seconds
Around 3:00, the amount of time and finger pain that tiling must have cost.
Great work and interesting to see this different style of video, I’d be happy to see more but I know they’re controlled more by the other companies.
I would love to hang that on my wall as art work 4:28
Neato
Fun watch as ever, good build.
I think this is a nice build for an interesting product, if all ads were like this one I'd hate them a lot less.
Cool build. But that rabbit thing is all sorts of bad news to me.
NIJNTJE! : D
Had not made that connection, but very apt
I bet your bragging rights that you cant make a gyroscope out of legos
It's okay to do ads, but not for a scam. :)
The lego goat himself calling out your scam sponsor must feel bad. Brick Bending, have you considered taking down this ad? Considering the information that's come to light about it.
✨ ✨ wabbit ✨✨
Now that's a fun way to incorporate an ad. Nice job my dude!
That is so freaking cool😮
lovely little rabbit goober
also be careful with ai
rabbit looks like he wants the true macaroni build
This was honestly rlly cool and I was surprised when I saw wat it was he was building lmao
I just with the actual product was in the video..
Cool
Over 9000
You are so clever with your Lego bricks…my children call me a Lego Genius (at 82 years old)…because I love playing with them!
I agree with your children 🙌
Looks good man!
Beautiful
You're four days late, Brick Bending.
Great builds take time 😆
Ads too long for a 5 min video.
Guys stop hating bro needed to get the bag
Promoting scams is kinda fucked up. You need to do research before you accept sponsors.
Bruhhh
people hating for no reason honestly
I just love how the music is louder than the voice actor
edit: muaic -> music
I think it makes it cooler.
👍🏻👍🏻
Good Video! :)
Damn not you …
if this thing is, or inplements generative ai, that sucks heavily
but if its more like a siri type of thing, that is... less sucky
Queen really hating on her kind
It's not generative AI, not creating voices, music, pictures or videos.
It's a personal assistant that can browse the web and after your approval book and organise things for you. It can collate research sources for you to look at, instead of taking from the source to generate.
@@ImmortalAbsol well then, thats much better
hopefully no weird privacy controversy happens in the near future
WTF is this, why you shilling for a scam?
Nah.
ppl hating cuz there was a single ad?? stupid. several other RUclipsrs do it too and y’all are hating on this guy?
It's literally a scam
Can't agree with the hate. The video wasn't bad, I didn't care that it was a collab ad. The more money you can make, the more time you can devote to bending LEGO, right?
The people complaining are likely the same people who pirate video games. Pay them no mind.
I pirate video games and I thought the build was pretty neat.
People who pirate video games typically spend the most money on video games. Also, I think this particular product that's being promoted is potentially a bit of a scam with what they've promised and how it's likely to be in reality. Still, people way overreact and I don't understand why people are hating on the video.
@@Ironically-Sarcastic Probably because they, like me, thought BB used AI in this video without actually watching it.
ad dont watch
people need money from somewhere
Nice build though (i think)
the guy has rarely posted sponsored videos and makes cool builds he’s allowed to post a sponsored build. and its not like he didn’t try at all either
You suck !
Amazing ad for an amazing product!
Bummer, 3 months timeout
disappointing to see you posting about ai stuff
Not all AI is generative.
Luddite
To all those haters :
YOU SUCK !

Dude you try buying this much Lego let bro get his bag
Зря потраченное время
Been following your work for a long while, and appreciate the effort, creativity, and the passion you invest into and brought forth to make some of the things you have out of mere Legos. However, AI should remain where it was best suited, industry and manufacturing, not in the creative fields and certainly not catered to children like Adobe has taken advantage of in their recent advertising market.
Paid or collaborative doesn't much matter, from a personal standpoint, at the least. The AI "Market" isn't really meant to be used in the creative fields in the first place. When NFT's and Bitcoin saw blowback from the artist communities and suffered losses, the techbros turned to outright theft and plagiarism in the vacuum wake of the other fields. With laws starting to gain traction to put AI-"created" content in its place, it's becoming a scrape fest to see how much they can steal before it's got a ban or limitation placed by law.
From one lego enthusiast to another, genuinely, your creativity and passion for your craft and art is far more priceless and valued than any ad/collab with an AI marketing project. Pure and simple. You're far better off finding companies that would value your time and effort than to take advantage of your platform for their own ends.
No malice or hate for taking the leap you did, but after all this time, it really does suck to have to unfollow. I do hope your lego endeavors continue to give you joy and improve, but not as a result of AI.
You need to educate yourself on what you’re preaching. I don’t stand for generative AI art either but rabbit, at the moment anyways, is decidedly not that. They’re trying to use AI to automate your interactions with the computer, so like an actually functional Siri.
AI can 100% be used in the creative fields. The issue isn't it's use. It's it being trained on unconsensual data and it's use in lieu of human capital. Resolve those issues and it's halal.
People really need to stop with this generative AI inherently bad rhetoric -- it's nonsense.
Promoting AI is extremely cringe.
Luddites are cringe.
Not all AI is generative or even controversial, this is just like having a personal assistant like Jarvis.
Bummer unsubscribing
Grow up.
With a handle like fartbarf, my expectations are low for that 🤣
