Yes great player! I remember him playing this on a Les Paul. Strangely, he makes the Strat sound like the Gibson. Perhaps these days he prefers the lighter weight.
Ian as a front man is simply amazing, the energy and presence on the stage is awesome. I had a chance to see them back in the late 90's when my dad considered getting tickets but he decided not to, to this day he still regrets not doing it.
To bad they don’t make music like this anymore. One of the most memorable guitar solos ever. Thank you Martin Barre, Ian Anderson and the rest of the gang
Doane Perry...not many talk about him, he is a drummers drummer. I was very lucky to have him as one of my drum instructors when I attended Musicians Institute 91-92. He's one of the best in the business and a nicer man you'll never meet.
Ian Anderson is one truly brilliant individual and one a top quality groovy banana ... I have been in awe of him long , long time ... he hasn't lost his shine
No, his voice is memorialised… his music will never die his voice will always be there… just versions have changed over the years doctor. but go back to the originals… there was no one better… his voice is legendary.
Got to see this show in AMSTERDAM (Heinenken Music Hall-on June 10th) got meet the band b4 & after the show and even got to film it for myself....Just a little different angle than REMY TENAs' version.....but my battery died B4 the encore.....even took home a whole balloon too...................GREAT!!!
As a student in Delhi in the seventies, I heard the voice of Tull, Traffic more often than I heard the voice of my own mother. And I regret that. Listening to Tull today, in 2020, that ancient regret is reborn. She is dead, dead.
I've seen J. Tull ,three times in N.Y. and each one was Brilliant.. One time in Central Park ,just Blaring thru the City, they really were are help for an aching Head...
This is the last Jethro Tull line up , the best progressive rock band until 2011 when Martin Barre , Doane Perry , A Giddings and Jonathan Noyce left the band . This line up was great . But the best line up was of the 70s , Jethro Tull Of the 70s was the best band of the progressive rock music .
@@leandropessina3961 Why A Giddings and J Noyce left Jethro Tull? , I am sure it was for Ian Anderson and Martin and Perry were fired by Ian in the most aberrant Anderson gesture .
Among the most iconic opening guitar riffs and lyrics of all time !! "Sitting on a park bench ...eyeing little girls with bad intent" ..... love it .. haha.
rick henderson Interesting bit:. Anderson played a Fender Stratocaster originally, because "guitar players got girls". Traded it in for a flute and a microphone. The rest, as they say is history.
I had almost all the Tull records back in the day. I'm sure I played Aqualung more than all the rest. Somewhere out there in oblivion is an old wornout record

Mr. Aqualung: Ian Anderson fabuloso !! Dupla Anderson Barre uno de los mejores grupos de Rock progresivo junto con Yes, ELP, Rush, Génesis, Camel, Uriah heep y muchos más, los fabulosos 60's - 70's. Genios creativos, innovadores.
Fantastic Jethro Tull 🤩🥰
❤
The drummer is amazing
amazing guitarist, and the others too!
Ian Anderson the greatest performer of all time
Trueee
Ian's theatrics are so entertaining. His showmanship is so unique.
One of the top 10 rock songs ever
If each band has one entry definitely
Martin Barre's solo on this is just wonderful, brilliant, brilliant guitarist.
That's right, Martin is great, His Tone powerfull and his playing excellent. Have a good day. 🎶🎛🎙🎼🎤🎵🎸👍😉

Yes, he is one of the best. But the original solo on the 1971 album is unmatched!
@@joe22589 I actually prefer this, both great though.
Martin is touring, playing the entire album, with Clive Bunker. In Victoria, BC on 7/21/22. Yes, I'll be there. Check tour dates at: martinbarre.com/
My god these groups of long ago are just beyond. . . . . . . . .Brilliant.
This music is truly heart and soul. Everytime I hear a song
Great music then and now!
Enjoy it, music died long ago. The world has moved on...
Hell yeah.
Some things DO get better with age. These guys are timeless
Saw him interviewed recently and couldn’t believe how humble and down to earth he was. Multi talented with class.
Long live the 70s!!
Martin Barre, such an underrated guitar player:his solo in Aqualung is one of the best ever....and Ian is just awesome,1000% charisma and showmanship.

I’m just discovering this band. This is a masterpiece! 👏👏👏👏👏🤘🤘
wow , i never thought he got enough recognition I'm glad you , found Jethro Tull ☺
Where were you ?
I remember listening to him early 70's when I was in the Marines. Great songs and music.
marc jacob , Thank you for your service, brother.

OK, now i have to find the encore!!
listened to this as a young apprentice and these guys are still doing there day job love it xo ps the 1970s
Yes , that is our student time !
Ian Anderson is simply just a bad ass...
Ian Anderson is one truly brilliant individual and one a top quality groovy banana ... I have been in awe of him long , long time ... he hasn't lost his shine
Just his voice
Bruce - I still always have a mental picture of him running around in the woods in tights, playing the flute. Groovy banana, indeed.
I'm afraid he has lost his voice ,but still such a talent
No, his voice is memorialised… his music will never die his voice will always be there… just versions have changed over the years doctor. but go back to the originals… there was no one better… his voice is legendary.
Terrible good Jethro Tull, know them from 1970th, they have deserve more attention even if they was popular. A band with fantastic quality.
Neat to see him snapping memory shots
Truly awesome music
Omg the same since the 8 track!!!!! Love them!!!!

Classic rock and roll, one of the best groups ever, loved the “Stand up “album
Stand Up was the 2nd LP that i brought way, way back in 1969 ..... I'm so very very glad that I was born in the mid '50s !!!!!!
As fresh as when they performed in the late 60's!! Love them forever!!
Not.
A crowd like that does not deserve Jethro Tull
why not?
"Never too old to rock and roll!!!

Hi Javier. If I can: Noyce and Giddings left already in 2006/2007. In 2011, Martin and Doane didn't leave by their choice

Awesome guitar work in this Jethro classic!
El Maestro, Ian Anderson excelente, fantastico, magnifico, a true Rock Legend.

Jethro Tull is nothing short of , but a musical Genius with their orchestrated style of music, A Genius indeed along with Martin Barre!
Um, Eric.
Jethro Tull is a 'them'. Not a 'him'.
@@TheBatugan77 "umm" I know that , referring to the whole group, not one individual. Only you perceived it to be in that context!
Magistral
Great band! Jethro Tull reminds me a Lot of my brother, who already passed away few years Ago.
Barre is a brilliant guitarist....
Drums sound's great!!!
everything sounds great
Whole band sounds great""...
I think that's the guy that John Bonham said was the best drummer in the world
A masterpiece...with one of the best solo in rock history
I am also fan of the band, Anderson, Barre, Cornick, Bunker. Fave LP "Benefit"
my god. Great, great, great. The music of my 80s.
Ian Anderson, the best one legged flautist I've ever heard or seen!
rick henderson Interesting bit:. Anderson played a Fender Stratocaster originally, because "guitar players got girls". Traded it in for a flute and a microphone. The rest, as they say is history.
The flamingo flautist.
When I saw Ian as a very young (and high) young girl, I actually thought he had only one leg... I was such a doff.
I have been a homeless man. I relate to this song very much.
Marc Duperron Glad to hear you got out of it :)

Ian is one cool dude 😎👍
Have seen Tull about a year ago in 013. Though much older Ian was still on one leg and master of the flute. This video was new to me, don't miss it!
No matter how many different band members are seen, Martin Barre is always there, he and Ian Anderson are the anchors of the group! (understatement!)
Ian is wonderful!!!! Jethro Tull is my fav band till today n will always be ❤
The last truly great line-up of Tull.

Saw them in 2005-6. Ian's humour was spot on. Missed Martin Barre but Florian Opahle did a brilliant job!
A timeless MASTERPIECE
Love that mini-parlor guitar.
Thank you boys' for your service. Salute
Tanti anni fa ho partecipato a un vostro concerto 🎺 indimenticabile
I miss the raw power Ian used to project, but the spirit is still alive and flowering in the hearts of the wishers and wanderers.
Brian Walendy , goosebumps and electric currents here. Thanks. 🙏🎶💕✌️🌎

Lovely. He always used to ay a Washburn or something and sounded wonderful. Seems like he's mastered that sound on a HH style Strat too.
