The amount of drummers at an open gig without their own clutch is astonishing. I'll play on a shit kit and make it sound good but a good clutch is essential. Plus I almost always keep time with my left foot. 4 on the floor or 2 and 4. Sometimes the +'s for a cool feel. Killer video man. This will help beginners and intermediate drummers out huge. The only thing you missed out of my bag are in ears. But you probably got those as well lol
The cymbal felt/improvised mallet idea is brilliant - thanks.
I need to get those rods! I play in (kinda crappy) cover band and those would def help me out 😀
Do it! They’re gonna save you a**!!
I always have a spare spring for the bass drum pedal in my bag as well.
NICE!
Hey Swedish i use A Stick Bag i use Road Runner Stick Bag i Use Vater And ProMark Drumsticks 5B and i use damper pad Moongel
Great selection! But I´d definitely bring the Gaffa tape too. It has saved me and many other musicians many times. It is also like extra cymbal felt, a kind of "shared commodity". I´m not sure who actually buys the Gaffa tape, but everyone I know picks a roll up when they see one... :D
Oh, and when I played the most, all drummers had an extra stash of big coins (femkronor) AND an extra wooden club for the bass drum. We taped a big coin on the bass drum where the wooden club would hit. It does not sound good without a mic, but with a mic - you can really get a "fat and wet" sound out of a bass drum. The local "Drum Kings" back then used to have a bowl with broken coins and some pieces of wooden clubs.
Any tips on snare tuning
Depends on how you like it.
I like to crank the bottom head very high and tune the top head pretty high ✌️
Great tips ...i actually didn't understand the rods function until you explained it ....
I know i know ...google exist...but they seemed to me like a novelty...like the brushes or the mallets...somthing that im not gonna explore until i become a bit better....
I’m glad my video could help!! 😃
Awesome video, what drum kit do you play?
Thanks bud!!
It’s a Pearl Reference Series kit 🔥🤙
So rad I have the same scarlet fade but without the gold hardware
I agree CJ axe the gaff tape!!
2:40 I figured I'd need mallets. I have a pair but I felt like I need smth more like this for actual use. What's like your preferred brand/type?
All major stick brands make great mallets, but I’ve got a pair of Pro-Mark mallets and Wincent mallets. Both great!
Interesting video. Thank you
Thanks for the tips!!
✌️🤗
😃😃 great tips!
Somehow I always forget to bring the drum key 🤣
Me too 😭
I’ve made that mistakes MANY times 😅
My drum key has a bottle opener on it so I never forget it 🙂
Hi there! What is the brand of your cymbals? And drumset? Hehe.. thanks
A mix of Sabian, Paiste and other brands at the moment. The kit is a Pearl Reference Series ✌️
nice video! Thanks :D 🔥
You can always grab a bit of tape and wrap it around a Bic lighter so that you don't have to bring the whole roll. Then you have a lighter if you need it too. I've been carrying tap in my bag this way for years without it taking up much room at all.
I guess that's a pretty good idea! Although I've never had to use a lighter at a gig 😅
And doesn't the adhesive from the tape mostly get stuck to the lighter so it won't sit as well on the drum?
@@ThatSwedishDrummer yeah the tape will come off on the lighter, but you wrap like 10 wraps and the tape won't stick to itself too bad, since it's basically like remaking the roll, just using the lighter as the center.
I was going to say the same except you wrap around an old credit card or store card. You can wrap a lot of tape around one of those and it takes up zero space.
I’ve used tape wrapped around a #2 pencil.
Which cymbals are combined to make that hi-hat?
It’s an old, cracked and cut-down 18” Zildjian custom crash and a 16” Stagg dry crash
Bro! I found your other Chanel!
Awesome!! :D
👏👏👏👏

Ear plugs, anyone?
Definitely. To me that's a given, but indeed! Bring ear protection!!
Who cares what's in your kit bag
That's up to the viewer!
If you don't care, simply don't watch it ^^
What a waste of a comment. You should be able to figure out the answer to your own question.
