also she has bad compatibility with Bailey and a negative relationship with Vlad. When she met Semaj he was all alone and she was like ''yeah, I love you, thanks for building me a cave, of course I'll marry you'' and then slowly but surely he starts turning into a crazy scientist more and more collecting occults and she has been nothing but supportive of him! the least this queen deserves is a massage!!!!
@@Preciouslynnette Child of the Ocean trait makes a sim sad to go fishing or to eat or mount fish, but I've had a mermaid without that trait who got a happy moodlet with a shark emoji that LOVED eating fish, soooo
@@Fuffydud Yeah, it's easy to forgot with how cute they look that mermaids are basically the coast's apex predators. They hunt both humans and fish and they're damn successfull.
After accidentally planting the fruit I cackled when the salmon got mounted 🤣🤣

I thought it was hilarious that James didn't realize that if you plant the plantsim fruit, you get a tree that grows lots of plantsim fruits. He kept stressing out that he couldn't get more of the seeds from the big tree, even though he would be able to get them from the planted tree. (I probably wouldn't know anything about plant sims if it wasn't for the scenario that TS4 has. The Plantsim scenario is one of my favorites. I generally use it when we've just had an update and I play without mods until the mods get updated.)
@@junerussell6972I think he was stressing over not getting more because he wanted to become a plant sim in this episode. The waiting for the tree to grow also added to it🥲👍🏻 When I was playing it took like 2-3 days i think for it to grow but my sims had some extra traits that helped with it😊

I love the idea that he vehemently hates reading archaeology and history books because he lived it and half the info in the books is factually incorrect or wildly misinterpreted/taken out of context because history is written by the victors. 😂 And on top of that he appears to have raging adhd
I just had an idea: isn't the Night Wraith technically a ghost? my thought process is that instead of adding the Sim you kill to your household, find the Night Wraith that won the lottery and add them to the household. I feel like your household deserves that money since if it weren't for Bailey getting cursed, the Night Wraith wouldn't exist in the world to begin with. just a thought. I LOVE this series so much that I decided to start it myself (modified because I don't have all of the packs) and I'm learning so much from watching this one. the UFO room looks so great! *fingers crossed* for an alien baby!

Hear me out for the UFO light: the Get Famous pack has these moving spotlights, you can flip them with the TOOL mod and give them a green hue. That would look much more realistic. I'm loving this chaotic build btw!❤
and the light will still show, right - even if you size it down?

@@gisela_oliveira -- But the Night Wraiths that have become separate households might actually just be ghosts dead by overcharge. Since they're in the Manage Worlds screen it could be possible to move them in (which James would have to do anyway because ask-to-move-in is bugged).

I was yelling at the screen! James should just get one of the other household members to go into the forbidden tree. Since it will be their first time entering it they will come out with the plantsim seed. Then they can gift it to Semaj. The chaos of this series is epic! I love it all! Lmaooo 😂

@@Preciouslynnettenah, there's a chance to get the event again. It's just a matter of RNG after the first one. I got like 5 cowplant berries before I got my second Forbidden Fruit lol

Once you cross the portal in the day, it will close immediately as soon as you are back. Only one entrance a day is possible

Vlad is such a sweetheart. Banished from the group activity he goes to the spaceship to at least be able to watch his family fish, while he is forced to read nonstop for the higher goals of the family.😄

Yeah, it's so annoying when you want your sims to learn something and they just WON'T read. In Sims 3, you could make the action symbol longer and they'd read until they learned a skill point. That was such a good feature!!
Sometimes I think the bookworm trait helps you read. It might help with burn out but I don't know because I don't have either GT packs. I miss my get to work pack.

Speaking as a drama student: Lou is the perfect representation of a drama student. Doing the bare minimum, being anything but a straight A student. It makes sense. Please keep him in uni. The challenge is going so well, this might just be the little added chaos we need! He might even join the secret society/(oc)cult

I would love to see you do a “reality show house” mini challenge. Basically, create 8 sims with different stories and have them live in a house together and compete in skill-building challenges. Eliminate whoever gained the least of that skill that episode. Could be so much chaos haha

You can claim the sleeping pod! It says "Claim" instead of "Assign to" but it will claim it as Tom's. Also, I think reading has been bugged for awhile because Sims NEVER want to keep reading. I found it helps to queue something up after it, like sleeping or using the toilet or taking a shower!
Or reading the same book they are already reading 😂
@@notllikethat I’ve never had that work for me 😭 it always just refreshes the queued interaction and then they get up again. Some things also replace the read interaction, like watching tv. Idk why
For the Ghost sim you should get Cletus! Your co-worker from the scientist career!
If it's helpful - I was having the same issue you were with Vlad and reading. I think when sims read books from the shelf they autonomously try to put the book back which breaks them out of reading. I've found if you put the book in the sim's inventory first and then tell them to read it, they don't have as many issues with that.

i feel like it doesnt matter whether or not the book is in their inventory, but i will be testing that next time!
i think if you add it to favorites in the inventory, they won't try to put it away
I also just queue up another action after reading and that seems to help, since it blocks their autonomy to put the book back
I was looking through the Sims wiki at the spells. From the description, Floralorial seems to clean up the plants. ( bugs and weeds) Herbio however, the description says Create a fully grown plant in even the most fallow of soils. I don’t know if this makes a new plant or works on existing plants.
It makes a new random plant.
You can buy the fruit in granite falls at the camp ground. There is a little hut where you can buy camping supplies and for some reason they added that fruit to the buy list there.

ghost sims. I like the Beetlejuice Potion (bar drink) for making a ghost... vs killing them.. more occult that way, plus a beetle juice themed room....:)
YES! And the Beetle Juice ghost doesn't feel the effects of a haunted house (though this one isn't haunted anymore).
I literally laughed loudly at both mishaps (accidental growfruit planting & salmon mounting), but Night Wraith winning the lottery made me completely lose it these series are quite literally keeping me going through some hard times, thanks James
The rain is what’s draining the servo’s durability-any water will break them very quickly. I believe the umbrella helps, but it’s still risky. They can self repair though, so at least Nalani doesn’t have to fix it every time

Maybe this would be longer than 10 parts but you could do Deli’s tiny town challenge but you use 6 Bigwallets that we haven’t really focused on as the different sims to unlock. That way we could do a challenge but still expand on the Bigwallet legacy a little bit.
IDEA FOR THE NEXT MINI CHALLENGE: experience every type of death in the game including pack exclusive ones like flower arrangements, beetles, sharks, any basegame deaths have to happen in a none traditional way or one that uses another pack (like getting electrocuted by the dryer). Collect all the ghosts along the way and explore their special effects and powers.
This episode had me cracking up 😂 everything was just so difficult, from trying to get Vlad to read, to trying to get the Plant Sim Seed, to trying to get the salmon 🤣
Speaking of Futurama references, the notification that popped up "What makes a Sim turn neutral?" is a reference to a line Zap Brannigan says haha

Also maybe do an “every townie challenge”. Like have missions to get the goths, the landgrabs etc to join the household. Maybe just base game townies, or famous ones from every game pack 🤔
A let’s play idea I have is the every expansion let’s play, you start with one sim (get to work for example) and you do a task/challenge associated with that pack and once completed you move on to the next one eg get together and so on.
This includes My First Pet Stuff, right? He hates that pack.

i always wanted to do this with sims 2 because i mostly played always with most/all the expansions so I probably didn't use so many of the specific packs features

I think Vlad had spent so much time of his eternal life reading books and now he just gets really bored when he reads and hates literature, he's the opposite of the "pick me girl" trope, he probably prefers watching a movie now

This episode has been chaotic! Love it! Oh btw, if your Sim ever experience a burnout again, giving them a massage or making them do yoga helps getting rid of the moodlet fast too.

You might have to use a different sim to go into the tree. The few times I've played around with it, it only seems to give the berry the first time a sim goes in. After that it's a bunch of random rabbit hole adventures that give random stuff.

James, I'm going through a devastating loss and your videos are amongst the very few things that manage to take me out of the awful situation I'm in and provides me with a little break. Thanks for always making an effort to create fun sims content.
Carl has a mod that is called try to make friends. It will automatically use friendly socials without duplicating the same one too many times. Also, if you start failing socials, it will stop. I find it useful to not have to use the social menu to spam things.
13:50 Hot tip for those of us PC players who don't use windowed mode, when you're in the game just click the windows button if you have a windows computer so that it will minimize the window and then you can hover over the game icon and then click X then click on the game icon to re-open the window and that saved game box should pop up, however it doesn't when you're stuck on the loading screen so if you're stuck on the loading screen then just do the windows button thing and then go to task manager and force close the game, which unfortunately means it won't save like it just reverts back to the last time you saved so honestly anytime you're going to a loading screen save first
alt f4, as james suggested, works fine tho? it’s more straightforward and it gives you an option to save before exiting

Ravasheen has a mod uplifting elevator portals that allow you to use basically a door with no tile requirements. You can build your own elevator room/shaft. The door is 2 wide though, so it would have to be 2x1.
New series idea: All the ways to say goodbye ☠️
Start with Semaj and add a person to the household, then spin a wheel to decide how to off them. Do it for every way a Sim can die. Keep all the graves on your home lot with an homage next to their grave on how they went.
