99% of feedback is from sim flyers, but it's wayyyyyyyy harder for us 3rd party sim devs - the transition MSFS 2020 to 2024 is just BRUTAL. Asobo/Working Title were supposed to improve the graphics and add careers but SOMEHOW they broke almost everything outside the code they were looking at and still are asking for 'feedback' to find out what has broken.. Hi Huddison, I think we have all been feeling the slump. There are still so many issues with mfs 2024, still no market place. It has become so bad I have gone back to msfs 2020 and may start looking for another flight sim. Good luck 👍

I jumped on, first time in 2 weeks only to have the same bugs, freezing up, then CTD. (X Box Series X) So yeah, my desire to fly is just not there right now, and my frustration level is just too high for this! So, I can only hope MS/Asobo will just get their acts together --- soon --- and make this enjoyable without constant issues. Honestly, this is beyond unaccepable for all of us that purchased this title on day one Nov. 19....heck, those who purchased this maybe Dec 25th, or Jan 1..whatever. Still...months later, this whole "cloud based" sim I still think was such a massive mistake.
I literally had just re-installed MSFS 2020, and having done that uninstalled v2024 probably right around when you were releasing this video (love the new intro my friend). Never flew a flight sim before 2020, and it took a bit to get accustomed to. Your videos helped a lot as well as some others, and it was largely straight forward. Then I had a blast. In general I like and enjoy 2024 and 2020, having said that it does get very frustrating when I’ve set up a flight in an airliner and 45 minutes into it the sim crashes. I’m on the beta with Xbox X. When it is working it’s quite impressive. I wish it didn’t take so much time for these fixes I think that’s part of the frustration too….the waiting Thanks Hudd, good topic

I haven’t played a flight sim in 20 years! Kids and not having a computer that’s capable kept me away. Now I have time and a Xbox series X. So I went for it. Since I only have my old memories to compare it to, it seams awesome. I do get some system crashes on occasion, but that usually means it’s time to go to bed😂. Going to give a joystick a try. As someone that didn't have a flightstick for 2020 but got one for 2024, they really do make a difference. For one, helicopters become manageable without all the assistance settings. For two, you get a greater sense of control over the aircraft. Mine isn't a fancy one either, just a Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS One. 🙂

Totally agree with you H. I pre ordered MS2024. But due to the difficulties I have not bothered to download it. I am really getting tired and fed up of excuses. I think with all the down side to it all I really have started to fall out of love with flight sim which I never thought would happen.
Thanks for the excellent video and discussion. I fall squarely in the 'biding my time' group - I simply don't want to spend money upgrading my hardware until I can be confident that MSFS 2024 is much more stable. On the other hand, I noticed how fabulous London looked in your video, running on your mid-range PC I presume. The engaging RUclips videos that you and others are producing encourage me to keep flying in MSFS 2024 pretty much very day. Best regards.
Thanks for this video Huddison, same questions that we all have. I personally am finding plenty to do, although I have been getting a little bored in career mode. But that being said, I keep expanding my area, have about 6,000,000 credits saved! LOL I'm definitely not going back, in fact I uninstalled 2020, only looking forward. I have a new 7800 XT video card on the way, I've been using my 6700 XT all this time with my Ultrawide monitor. my FPS stays around 30-35, no stuttering, and very smooth game play. No, not going back! (Had a chance to get a MSI 5080 from B&H Photo, first time ever getting notification, but the I going to us the 7800 XT until AMD releases their new cards in a couple of months.)
My money is staying in my pocket for now, I watch your channel and others and hope that the issues raised are sorted out in the near future. Would it be realistic to hope that by the end of 2025 things will improve dramatically, let's hope they don't dilly dally!. Best Wishes AL.
Whats annoying is setting up the Flightplan, turning on Tobi, BATC, Simapp, Spadnext, Navigraph, Simlink, hit the air, get sound stutter, then boom, back to desktop. I wasn't having these problems a week ago. Not using the Beta neither.
Running msfs 2024 on a 49" monitor in ultra settings and even over London it's running totally smooth, the only problems I have encountered are some addon sceneries not working or making it sit forever if I try to fly from or too there, but I'm totally loving it
I've actually FLOWN MSFS 2024 for 3 hours since I bought it on release day. I've spent more time trying to get things like Tobii working, and trying to get the controls down. I really look forward to the bugs getting worked out and especially the multiplayer issues where we can all get back to group flights.
I’ve been flying much less recently due to issues with the sim. 2024 can be really good, and it looks great, but there are so many frustrating issues. I wasn’t even able to get into the sim for over a week due to an error msg about internet connection. My internet is fine and I finally found a “repair” option for the sim which took care of the problem. I flew this morning in career mode and am glad to be back. Idk if this fix also fixed multiplayer for me but I’ll check this afternoon. I haven’t been able to see anyone for several weeks. I miss group flying so I hope I can sort it out. I’m glad it’s not just me who has been in a slump.
Xbox Series X user here and i'm maybe I'm one of the few but I am still totally loving the sim. I see other Xbox flyers having issues which really confuses me with a closed system as I am having very few problems at all. It loads pretty quickly now, getting to a flight from the World Map is also nice and swift and I can be up in the air in no time. I love the new flight planning facility and being able to load it into the avionics/EFB is just so cool and simple. I see other traffic now in my flights which is fantastic and adds to the immersion. I'm just now starting to fly helicopters and genuinely can't wait to get on each time I have the chance. I wish others were enjoying it like me. I'll just count myself fortunate.
I'm just the opposite. Since 2024 came out, I'm flying at least twice as much. 2024 is so much nicer looking in VR on my modest 4070-5800X3D rig. I fly GA at about 1,700 feet or less where I can see the power and the glory ! All of my 50 or so airport addons transferred over from 2020, many of them free from flightsim to, work fine in 2024. My Pimax Crystal Light is the best hardware I ever purchased and it arrived here just before msfs2024.
My main issues are menu related, with glitchy thumbs, settings not sticking etc. I think there's a few aircraft with sound issues but I have a solution to that and I'm slowly testing each one out. Flying isn't perfect but far better than 2020 for me. I can't say I'm in a slump with it but I only ever played when I felt the need and that has continued from 2020 to 2024, so I can't say it's made me fly more.
I guess I’m just lucky, because I literally haven’t had an issue with 2024 since a week after lunch. It’s beautiful and runs great for me. I went back to 2020 briefly for the PMDG stuff, but I just couldn’t stomach how it looks compared to 2024, especially since the beta.
It’s driving me up the wall …I’ve got a great computer and system and 2020 and 2024 won’t ever launch properly in steam…no one knows how to help …I can be playing and get a cuppa and come back and it’s on the home page….very frustrating
I can help, Google "Basic Troubleshooting: How to troubleshoot crashing/CTDs issues". I had a sevre problem on the Tech Preview/Aviator Edition (but was fine in GamePass) of the sim crashing seconds after launch, sometimes it would go a minute or two but it always crash. Turns out it was the ROG Sonic Studio Audio driver which I had to disable in the Device Manager (not remove that won't work). More of these software/hardware crash causes can be seen in the article. Best of luck!
I miss Bush Trips and I have a hard time finding a purpose in MSFS2024. It feels like there's a content gap between the slow pace of career mode and the absolute freedom of free flight.
I call MSFS the most beautiful piece of sh$t I've ever dealth with. Viruturally every step in setting up 2020 was a royal pain. Yes, I'm still working on 2020 and trying to get it all working. I don't dare think of 2024 yet....
Fenix and Cows is what keeps me engaged with MSFS2024. Did refund Aviators edition initially and only picked up basic one after Fenix A320 was compatible and fix 2 was rolled out. Best joke is Tobii not working natively still despite being officially supported hardware.
Mr. Huddison, I am worn out by trying to "get in the seat" and have the energy to fly in '24. Plus, the PMDG 737-600 won't fly yet. I am retired/disabled and have no desire to do a "carrier." been there done that. The free flight is as one on your video said, "It just takes too much psychic energy," to get started. I have surrendered and retreated back to '20. I've got a really expensive app that just doesn't bring me any excitement or joy. Feelings are not right or wrong (I do have a clinical background in this!), they just are. I'm sad and hope they can get it up and running. .
I don't have much to add, other than to say that I genuinely don't remember making that comment. I must've been on the sauce that evening 🤣🤣 I stand by it though. Playing other games has always worked for me whenever I get burnt out with flight sim. After a couple of months I'm right back into it again
I tried to fight the good fight with MS2024. Played the career mode until constant crashes left a bitter taste in my mouth. Then the lack of study level a/c. So I reinstalled MS2020 yesterday and actually flew a full flight in the PMDG 737 without any issues whatsoever. I'm sticking with it until 2024 improves. Also I'm on almost a 1000 mbps line and yet the streaming is still shit with crappy textures, etc.
Fs2020 load times are escalating but it’s not going to make me switch to 2024 until it’s well out of the beta stage…if you guys want to do Microsoft’s job for them, have at it…
Mmmm good question. Not a slump, not frustration but just weird. As you know I got a pc for it and I dont regret that. I think the initial excitement has died down. I rarely launch 2020 actually. Everytime I launch 2020 it feels like it just doesnt feel as good. Just my opinion. I loved career mode until the bugs became too annoying, and the flights became far too long. Havent touched that in ages. My TB Flight Deck annoyed me by breaking. So now I am without a joystick. I recently got a quest 3. Just doing VR flights in the 172 with the xbox controller is really fun. So its just a bit meh really. Hard to explain.
Agree. I was really excited anticipating 2024 and so far it has been a major disappointment. It was released before it was ready and they don't seem to be making significant progress getting it up to where it should have been on day one.
I dont know why, but some of the most popular (spesial for tourists) buildings in my town is gone now. Maybe after I installed the beta update some days ago...
Bullshit. What are you comparing it to? This is the MOST amazing edition I’ve ever had. I started with FS1 with an apple 2E. I have an amazing system that allows me fly anytime I want. The New Career Mode is all I play. Everyone is way too critical. Lightning up and enjoy what we have. Very fly able
Forgot to ask, somebody fly over or land at KAKR in FS2024 and tell me if the 1000'x200'x200' solid black Airdock has appeared...it's missing in FS2020.
I am rather enjoying MSFS2024 atm (except for the stupid bugs in VR, and no Marketplace) after DLSS4 released and even in VR (Varjo Aero) it performs wel (2020 performs better though). But I am really really worried that some SUx will ruin it again, just like SU7 in MSFS2020. Contentwise there is enough, I am learning the Fenix A320 atm, and the COWS DA40. 2024 Should outperform 2020 as was "promised" or predicted, because of multicore optimization etc. We will wait and see and shiver.
On xbox x i have msfs 2024 right now im only using 2020 its a much better experience i deleted 2024 i will download it again in probably a year or so im disappointed with it in its current state i have faith it will work asobo has a lot of work to do.
Huddison would never lead us up the Garden path and These videos are always a pleasure to watch but what annoys me is that we will have to change to windows 11 otherwise as long as 2020 is supported I am not botherd realy . oh 2024 would drive me round the bend for sure.
In a slump with 2024? Yeah, Everytime I boot it up, I just get depressed and can barely bring myself to finish a flight. I'll take-off, and just think "why bother?".....and that's if I don't CTD because somehow, the Beta is WORSE than the public release. I thought Beta was supposed to test fixes, not make it unusable. Whereas as 2020, I just finished a real-world UA flight from SFO to SAN in the PMDG 738........on Xbox with zero issues. If I'm being honest, I can't bring myself to care about 2024, despite what it's supposedly brought to the table.
I am just staying with MSFS 2020 with my addon's it looks great and run's well on my system so I have not bought 2024. I have spent enough money in MSFS 2020 on addons and don't want to do it all over again.
Well, it doesn't help that in career mode, my xbox keeps CTD in frightening regular intervals. The graphics deteriorate to 4 bit blocks without any discernable features after an hour of gameplay, and the frame rate slows down to about 1 frame per 10 seconds. Beta-1 has made things even worse. And don't get me started on the 737 Max!
What a piece of luck for Nvidia, the Paper Launch of the 50 series came just in the nick of time, Flight simmers DON'T need an upgrade this year as the sim is to problematic for most users to care.
I wish that I had gone for 2020 when I returned to Flight Simulator, and not listened to the fan base and gone with 2024. I have no interest at all in career mode it is way to gamie for my taste, I'm done with grinding. I just want to fly the aircraft I want to fly, every one has been a 3rd party Dev which means I like most players are still waiting after Asbo/Working Title/ whatever MSFS is now have made life very very hard for the very people that have made MSFS what it is now. What worked no longer does all for the sake of a GAME. I cannot help but think that was their plan all along. Lets face it they hate free ware. As a foot note all reputable content providers are still producing their videos in 2020. The only plus I see it, it looks pretty!
I've invested in 2024 but the aircraft that I chose to use in 2020 are not available to me in 2024. I have a look from time to time but I'm sticking with 2020 for now. I have to admit that I am spending far more time playing games than simming now.
Just dont get who 2024 is aimed at currently. 'Xbox gamers' seems the answer from PC folks, but I am one of them and tbh spent a few 100 hours on 2020 on Series X, but slow going on 2024. Fantastic that the last SU1 beta patch fixed the silly 'manic mouse' issue in cockpit, looks better and less horrible popups. Improving, except 2nd flight was CTD to Series X... this is not fun on a 3 minute load time. I'll stick to gamer stereotype and continue Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for now (which is awesome btw)
FS2024 has been rather lackluster for me. There are palm trees, banana trees, lots of jungle trees, in Mississippi, and those should only be along the gulf coast, if that. No improvement to PG, at all. Sim crashes at the drop of a hat... any hat. VR looks awful in it. Lots of following ghost lag, and distortions, no matter which DLSS I use. Pretty bad, really. Thanks for the video.
Why did we have to pay Microsoft 100% for a product that is 70% delivered? It's pretty, no doubt, but it is taking too long to get up to the altitude of what was promised.
I'm not disagreeing with anything else you say but you didn't 'have' to pay for it. You chose to buy it instead of waiting and seeing how good/bad it was first.
The 2024 release and ongoing fiasco with 2024 has put a huge cloud over fsimming for me for last month. I’ve forgotten 2024 and starting to enjoy 2020 a lot. I’m out of this 2020/2024 argument I don’t care. Feel sorry for devs being stuck in a no one’s land now all Asobo/MS fault. Carnt wait for the A350 to release a real highlight my fav plane in RL
I think Microsoft should REFUND EVERYONE WHO WANTS IT…….for those of us who were sold a bill of goods who bought all the prerelease hype of a bigger and better version than the 2020 ! 2024 is and remains such a terrible disappointment.
I agree. I want my money back from this monsterous disaster if a sim. As bad it is, if these de:elopers take another break or vacations without any real progress, the Sim is going into the recycle bin. Trash.
im still enjoying flying on ms2020 at the moment when i get the chance ms2024 looks good but its still not giving me the vibe too do the change over yet
Stopped playing 2024 weeks ago due to mostly server issues I went back to 2020. Thank s for being honest. 2024 sucks Manny youtube rs make it sound great I want a refund
Uninstalled FS2024. Got a refund. Be buggered if I'll pay Asobosoft for the privilege of being their alpha-tester. It'll be years before it's fixed, if ever. Face it, FS2024 is a failure.
I love aviation and flew on the sim most nights and every weekend. Since the release of 2024 I simply can’t be bothered logging on the simulation anymore. I think I’ve had enough of it and fell out of love with it. Cup of tea and a bacon butty flying from Manchester to a European county was my Saturdays but now i feel no love for it. MS/Asobo have failed to deliver their product they advertised pre MSFS 2024. Hopefully, they fix the issues and I’ll be back having paid over £100 for this new simulator. I have zero interest in GA planes only commercial jets. Give me a fully working A320 with real world AI liveries and model matching. Looking at blocky aircraft with the spirit liveries or delta airlines at a UK airport doesn’t cut it for me!
I have been using 2020 since it came out, I have just upgraded to a RTX4060 16gb and it's like a new sim, no need for MSFS 2024, buy a new graphics card

It will get to a similar state as current FS2020; but we should be there already. I am also looking forward in that respect.
My money is staying in my pocket for now, I watch your channel and others and hope that the issues raised are sorted out in the near future. Would it be realistic to hope that by the end of 2025 things will improve dramatically, let's hope they don't dilly dally!. Best Wishes AL.
Great video James! I agree with eveyones comments, Lets just hope the near future arrives with bug fixes and more
We can only hope Nick.
Wow, excellent feedback - thanks for sharing :)
Thanks for this.
Do you run any addons in 24? Do you do log haul flights? No issues?
@ I use Active Sky and the Fenix. Works amazing. Did a 2000 mile flight yesterday, cruised at 4x sim rate and not a hiccup.
@dtrjones thank you a lot ...I'll try it
I miss Bush Trips and I have a hard time finding a purpose in MSFS2024.
When have you seen the last developer stream? Are they hiding from this disaster ?
We'll see tomorrow.
I must've been on the sauce that evening 🤣🤣
I stand by it though.
Fs2020 load times are escalating but it’s not going to make me switch to 2024 until it’s well out of the beta stage…if you guys want to do Microsoft’s job for them, have at it…
We need some more 3rd party helis, the sim feels dry at the moment with 2024
It definitely does.
First! Love your videos. Thank you.
Yay! Thank you!
Agree. I was really excited anticipating 2024 and so far it has been a major disappointment. It was released before it was ready and they don't seem to be making significant progress getting it up to where it should have been on day one.
works great since day 3. in VR, and even better now with DLLS 4
Thanks for the update.
Sticking with 2020 for the foreseeable future
I dont know why, but some of the most popular (spesial for tourists) buildings in my town is gone now. Maybe after I installed the beta update some days ago...
Bullshit. What are you comparing it to? This is the MOST amazing edition I’ve ever had. I started with FS1 with an apple 2E. I have an amazing system that allows me fly anytime I want. The New Career Mode is all I play. Everyone is way too critical. Lightning up and enjoy what we have. Very fly able
Fair play.
@@Huddison yeah people are extremely picky nowadays
Forgot to ask, somebody fly over or land at KAKR in FS2024 and tell me if the 1000'x200'x200' solid black Airdock has appeared...it's missing in FS2020.
Some help certifications are bugged. Landing at night unable to see some runways. Still no heavy cargo missions
Sim Updates are always a scary tine - should we really have to suffer that though?
Tobii 5 eye tracker are you still using ? discount at store at the moment, thanks
I will check
I am rip1outdoors and I am addicted to the career mode 😢
Hello Sir Huddison...is Jayne going to do snother Asobo monthly interview? LoL😅 Im staying with FS20 till I get a new pc or Xbox X
Huddison, have a look at VR Flightsim Guy, he did a very good video on VR. With the new DLSS
The Indy game is awesome indeed (lessons to be learnt).
Thanks for sharing.
Why did we have to pay Microsoft 100% for a product that is 70% delivered? It's pretty, no doubt, but it is taking too long to get up to the altitude of what was promised.
Really solid point.
I'm not disagreeing with anything else you say but you didn't 'have' to pay for it. You chose to buy it instead of waiting and seeing how good/bad it was first.
I got a refund. There's major work to be done on it so I'll bide my time. Still happy with msfs2020. We all need to be patient 🙏
The SIM runs great, but geez, the setup of a new aircraft with controls suck...
Thanks for sharing :)
Since I loaded the beta thing my sim keeps crashing more.
Yes has put me right off.😮
& it's you I really feel for.
I think Nintendo more than likely would release the game on the switch 2.
It's a possibility 😬
Stopped playing 2024 weeks ago due to mostly server issues
I went back to 2020. Thank s for being honest. 2024 sucks Manny youtube rs make it sound great
I want a refund
FS2024 has potential (I'm also counting how many times I've mentioned that); I'll honestly fry it if it doesn't soon deliver.
you always wait 1 year before you buy a knew sim. The hardware needs to catchup and the software needs updating. Old shool stuff.
I don't agree with your assessment of this.
Uninstalled FS2024. Got a refund. Be buggered if I'll pay Asobosoft for the privilege of being their alpha-tester. It'll be years before it's fixed, if ever. Face it, FS2024 is a failure.
It's nothing new really. I'll sim for a couple years, and take a break for a couple years. I've been doing that since 1997. Lol
