So their argument is "he yelled at my son for doing an illegal move!!!".
As a high school wrestling coach, I cant stress how routine everything was up to the dad running out there. Absolutely no reason for what he did
I wrestled at a powerhouse wrestling school. We had some wrestlers who were flat-out nasty. We had guys getting called for potentially dangerous all the time...never did a parent flip out like that...
I appreciate both of your comments.
As a guy who played soccer as a kid, I've seen worse parents.
I didn't even play beyond Jr. High.
Both the parents should be banned from all school events. The students safety, as well as the school officials, should be a priority.
@@Demanicon Every event
There is actually a case of A dad running up on stage and practically tackling a teacher because he didn’t want his daughter to shake hands with the black man
I’m retired with lots of free time. It’s incidents like this that keep me from volunteering for any school/student activities.
Hell, I got roped into judging a Halloween costume contest for babies about 38 years ago. After I made my choices, I literally had pissed off parents getting in my face because I didn’t choose their kid.
Former wrestling coach here … that call was a good one and that dad should be banned from all sporting events.
The mom is just as big of a problem as the dad. "Be an adult, don't yell at the kid!" as the dad proceeds to attack a ref. Surely these people are Trumpers!
Children learn from losing. If you think your child has to win everything you are the problem. You encourage your child to win and soothe them when they don’t. It’s not the end of the world if they lose
Total Trailer Trash Actions... he Deserves Jail Time!! Parents Need to Grow UP Good Grief.
Physically assault someone because things don't go your way. Way to set an example for your kid.
To anyone backing the parent, how can any call the ref makes justify violence?
Nobody is backing him.
Im gonna go out in a limo here .. insecure conservative dad with fake bravado?
Did the behind the back shove/battery give it away? 🤣
Bet he has a huge trump flag on his pick up truck 😂
and a teeny tiny....
Definitely a Trump supporter…they are taking control of the country.
If only that had been an official act, he would have been immune.
Imagine being so fragile about a referee raising his voice. Entitled parents are the worst.
Being bothered by another guy disciplining your kid is ok, just not going next level with a cheap shot, blindside shove. Cowardly. Too scared to square off.
That level of aggression especially in front of minors should be serious time. Angry dad could have done some serious damage. Great vid mom, did you seriously think that would help!? You and hubby are delusional.
Both parents have issues
Dad is wrong, mom is ridiculous, and i hope he is convicted of assault! I'd be embarrassed if i were that kid!
Awwww, poor bully! This dad not only assaulted a man over a kid’s sporting event, he set a horrible example, for ever kid in the gym.
Loser parents need to stop living through their kids
Dad needs proper prison time.
Yep. But they'll mostly likely just give him "anger management".Most likely he's done this before and he's gonna do it again.
What? No one told you these "alpha" types are fragile little flowers... lol
Indeed. All the same brainwashed Maga types.
That’s a sucker move..tried to whiplash the unaware coach..that is a coward.
just a cowardly move, indeed
What on earth would their point be? Even if the call was wrong, we don't put our hands on people...
Don’t yell at a kid? Ummm the ref was admonishing the child for violating the rules. And the parents get mad? Yeah this is why I would never want to be a referee.
Don't yell at someone, but assault is okay. Cognitive dissonance.
Don't get in my son's face!!!!
Those parents are soft as a baby's bottom. How do they expect their son to excel in a tough sport like wrestling when they're teaching him to respond to a penalty and a face to face explanation with violence? Softttttttttt
I'm so tired of these privileged parents.
Kids can't take their parents ANYWHERE nowadays.
Whatever happened to the guy that didn’t shake the superintendent’s hand? Need a follow up on that.
Are you really this clueless?
The best education moment for the kid is seeing that choices have consequences.
He did an illegal sport move and got called out.
His dad then did an unlawful act and embarrassed the kid and himself, got kicked out, then got arrested.
Choices have consequences, kiddo.
If you hadn’t purposely broken the rules, your dad wouldn’t have acted like a maniac (that night, anyway), and he wouldn’t have gone to jail.
This is also a good lesson in chain of events, and a demonstration of interconnectedness: how our personnel choices can have far reaching and unintended impacts on the world around us.
“Don’t yell at him!” damn when did we get so soft 😂
WE didn't.
Thats exactly why i came here... Dont yell hes just a kid... Really??? This is an event and there could have been injuries... Dam right someone needs to yell!!! Parents need to sit down and shut up!
@@hollynivy3769 Adults yelled at us all the time growing up in the 70s! Our relatives would discipline us, neighbors, teachers etc. Did we hate it? Yeah but you sucked it up.
The Supreme Court just ruled that any Republican can assault anyone at any time for any reason so the charges will be dropped.
I wrestled all through HS n the ref was in the right. I would have been mortified had my parents acted that way. If it had been a bad call, my couch would have calmly spoken to the ref. I hope those parents are shunned from the sports community altogether.
THe Father should be BANNED, shunned as well but most definitely banned. You assault someone at a match, especially a participant, then you're out. No three strikes.
These parents are less mature than the children. How pathetic. That man ran up behind the ref and blindsided him. Remember that all bullies are cowards at their core.
He should be banned from all school sporting events
My husband was a soccer coach for 3 years, but thats all he could stand because of the awful parents. Im glad he quit, people are nuts
And without people like your husband who coach and ref, there is no sport.
@@DaveSam-v5d I know it's really sad. He loved it so much
Another reason I almost feel you should need a procreation license to bring a child into the world, including demonstrating emotional/mental maturity.
Dad looks like a real winner. I feel sorry for his son.
Not really... let's not forget, sonny made an illegal move. Likely learned that from daddy.
Looks like he eats a lot of greasy cheese burgers and drink a bunch of budlight😂
Hopefully, the parents will be banned from further sporting events, but I'm sure their anger and hate will pass on to their children.
Sad but true.
I can’t even imagine what the boys life is like when he’s at home. 😒
And here we go again with the "I've got the proof, but you'll have to take my word for it." Defense. There's a lot of that going around.
Can you imagine being these parents & having everyone at your kid’s school know you’re toxically fragile to criticism? Can you imagine how embarrassed their son probably is going to a school & having the other students make fun of him because “daddy has to fight his battles for him”.
I feel sorey for their children. Being raised by an unhinged and violent roided out dad. And a mom that just backs his ignorance and hatefulness up. It's absolutely insane.
His son was losing the match so he cheated. The father came on the mat to defend his son by blindsiding the Ref. The son lost the match and the father lost at the game of life a long time ago. The mother was also part of the problem. 9:34
And that is why the kid tried to do an illegal move. Because his mommy and daddy allow him to get away with bullshit. Self entitled parents and kid. Garbadge family that need to be banned for life from school athletics.
I bet the Dad showed his kid that illegal move and got caught by the ref. We can see where the aggressiveness comes from.
Just the dad the kid could still learn.
Good angle on the mom's phone. Shows the infraction clearly, justifying the ref's decision to stop.
Totally agree!
Even if the ref made a bad call, no reason to attack him.
Daddy’s little boy couldn’t hold his own so thug daddy steps in and assaults the ref !! Maybe dad will learn a lesson about bullying kids while in jail.
He won't and the illegal toe hold proves he taught his son to be a bully. Anger management classes for mom & dad thugs.
The funny part is that with the wife's footage, we can see the toe grab so much clearer.
Parents attacking the referee not to yell in their childs Face. Giving a bad example in behaviour.
That white man who assaulted that black superintendent by putting hands 🙌 on him to stop him from shaking his daughter’s hand at her graduation only got hit with a disorderly charge..privilege!.
People like this are why i stopped umpiring and refereeing... because the way my self control is set up....
"...he was arrested without incident" - Yeah, I wouldn't start shnit with the Sheriff of a town named TAZEWELL either.
Just because you can make a baby doesn’t mean you should make a baby.
Wow, the parents are absolutely horrible, if their kid isn’t exactly like them he must be so embarrassed!
The kid xlearly is like them, because he oulled the illegal move, or tried to.
If the coach/referee is very awful, you file a complaint or report; dont attack sports officials 😡😠😡its appalling !!!
That was the evidence? LOL I bet he is abusive and she defends her husband out of fear.
Most likely. Or out of conditioning. "He loves me."
Of course the cheating kid belongs to the angry entitled parents
Sadly wife's video shows the correctness of 'speed turtle's' call.
So her video is better because it doesnt show her husband assaulting the reff? Is that really their defense?
As youth football coach, 5-6th graders I send time every practice, and every game day reminding my parents that their job is to cheer and support. I remind them the reffs are often high school kids, and to be kind and respectful. The stuff I hear and see and am some times subjected to is shocking. I am not surprised by this incident at all.
You know these parents will blame everyone but themselves
Roid/HGH rager who clearly peaked in high school trying to relive his "glory days" through his child...you can practically set your watch by it.
very on point
All that's missing from these parents are red hats
Or white hoods. Probably both
Guaranteed they are Trump voters. That's of course if they e en vote at all.
Sign that wife up for the police force. She already knows exactly when to obscure the body cam to hide police crimes being committed.
Obviously the dad has his kid in wrestling and BJJ hoping his kid gets to the UFC. The ref recognized a dangerous non-sanctioned move going down and acted correctly. Vicarious ex-Jockacracy dad felt like he was being cancelled, so he lost control. It's like HS all over again for the dad, when someone dropped a pass or something, and dad blames them because he didn't get into State U, and still rehashes it daily like Al Bundy. He woulda gone pro if it wasn't for..........!! So now he pushes his kid.
Although the last name doesn't sound like it, his face looks Eastern European. Wrestling is big in places like Serbia, and they aren't known for their gentle nature.
Parents have all but destroyed youth sports.
The Hammonds seem like a real POS family
So her the big revealing videos only difference was her commentary about being upset her son was yelled at and the fact that she shoved the phone in her pocket so there isn't any video of the assault? What does that prove? That she's entitled, delusional and bad at taking videos?
Yeap its the parents..ive been coaching since 87
How can anyone defend this? The other side put the video in her pocket and all I can make out is a Karen getting mad that the ref raising his voice at her kid in a loud sporting auditorium. God forbid that the ref has to ensure that everyone can hear him.
I am a parent, a coach, and I have been an official. The truth comes down to 1 fact. People suck. Kids these days are awful, parents are awful, most coaches and officials are as well. We live in a society where most people do the minimum and expect everyone else to do the maximum.
Do you possibly think Trump's antics are to blame at least in part? MAGA-hat loonies are always shooting things and blowing them up in their video clips.
Those parents are losers. She got mad because the ref did his job so she hqd to make something up to be mad about: he yelled at her son. Lol yeah because thats his job when your son is doing something against the rules
My husband coached a high school-aged hockey team. It was a club sport in which all families paid to join. He had all the boys play, not just the stars. Some parents were horrendous in their complaints to my husband for NOT having their kids play more minutes than others. We had a game where had to eject one of the fathers for disorderly conduct and threats against the Referees.
Lots of truth in the very old saying "No good deed goes unpunished" is still true.
The nickname for Mr. Hammond is “ head and shoulders “
The ref could have DQ the boy for interference of his parents
Long time PA official here.
I would have made the EXACT same call! Potentially dangerous. No penalty, no harm....just stopping a potential danger.
Parents should be barred forever.
THAT is why I DO NOT coach anymore!! These parents don't care! Don't want their kids to learn or be coached hard! Always complain when things don't go their way and it's usually a dad with everything to say but don't want to help coach!
While they complain that children are too soft nowadays😂😂😂
You know you're lacking satisfaction in your life when you need to get physical with your kid's coach because of a ruling. Bit sad, really. Pathetic.
Here in Canada parents have to attend and pass a course on acceptable behaviours. If the parent are in violation of the legal document they signed after completing the program they plus their child are banned from the sport. Done and done. So what do you do in America? Put them in the Senate?
Rob Ford?
Wrestling is a great sport. It is an individual AND team sport. I've been to so many matches, so many, and I've never once seen this dumb stuff. You know the refs after having wrestled in their schools/ districts umpteen times. You know wrestling parents/ kids...we fed the opposing teams out of our coolers. You can leave your purse with Heavy's mother from BFE, because it's safe. This is some sort of outlier, because nobody likes this, or tolerates it.
What part of Canada or Ontario you talking about? That don’t happen in Atlantic Canada
Alberta, my son refs 10 years to collegiate in basketball and a childhood friend 60+ refs hockey.
@@PeterKazakof I ref 45 years minor hockey, my coach ref 90 yrs, that don’t mean they make it mandatory across Canada for parents to attend a course to watch there children play, don’t make a blanket statement saying it’s the standard across Canada
What the nuts was her video supposed to improve? It didn’t show the dad NOT assaulting the ref, it didn’t show the ref doing anything to require a physical intervention, therefore it didn’t help his case.
lashes out......i feel sorry for his kid, taught to be a bully and the overbearing wife - i bet shes known in her street and disliked by all her neighbors..i bet they hav huge flags all over their home and about 8 guns
@@nobodyhere7973TOUCHE!
Bottom line he attacked the ref.
I've never wrestled, but I know that all of the small joint manipulation self-defence techniques we were taught in martial arts are illegal in combat sports.
I officiated for over a decade and I left because I feared for my safety. If I was injured by an upset parent or coach this could result in my inability to provide for my family. In addition it was rare to hear fans yell at players and coaches for a bad play or a bad call. The losing team typically does give credit or accepts blame for the loss but blames the officials. They target the officials.
The parent will get a slap on the wrist - probably pay a fine, take an anger management course for two hours, after telling the judge that “this isn’t how I operate but…”. Now let’s look at the child, who gets to go back to school and lives with this humiliating incident for the rest of his life, because his buddies will never let him forget about the time his daddy came to save his baby from the nasty referee. I am pretty sure that’s the end of any athletic pursuits the child has as there is no way he’s stepping into an athletic arena knowing his parent cannot control himself. However, it must also make one wonder what life is like in that home. Is shoving a normal every day occurrence? One does not get to this level of uncontrol without some practice.
How would you like to be that kid going home to those 2 parents after losing in anything? Definitely feel bad for the kid....
You don't need stricter laws. You just need to enforce the existing ones more thoroughly. This Criminal here could have and should have been charged with Felony Assault (coming from behind), in addition to two counts of Battery, Assault on a Minor (he shoved the ref into the other kid), multiple counts of Reckless Endangerment of a Minor, Criminal Trespass (for rushing the court) and on and on and on.
The mom could also have faced charges for being a Asset to these Crimes.
And the cops should have arrested them either right then and there. Or they should have gone to his home, arrest him there and seize their phones as evidence.
There is enough that Law Enforcement and Justice System can do, already. Stricter laws would not have prevented this, nor would they have been applied. Do you wonder white **cough, cough** why??
Well stated.
Those parents are terrible role models . Just so shameful
Oh, well...her video just proves...um...well...what does she think it proves?!?
That toe hold (or almost any such knee or ankle manipulation) has been illegal for forever. There's no world where that isn't an automatic stoppage at least and a possible DQ at worst. A referee yelled at him? That dad needs to go to a practice then. He's gonna need to get his gloves on though because he's going to be punching every coach on the team, half the trainers, and most of the faculty involved in the financials of the sports in the school. Believe me, they all do more than yell daily.
What Daddy did there, is to end his son's future with wrestling or any sport. His son is now a pariah, because his Daddy is a Violent Criminal.
Father is a muscle-headed thug. When kids are competing, keep mouth shut and hands off! You're supposed to be setting an adult example. NO EXCUSE. The wrestler must be so proud of his dad!
Both parents are vile. The man was doing his job. If the parents thought his command was harsh then they can complain.
'You didn't see what you saw! My husband's innocent! Just watch what I didn't record, it's proof.'🥴
Sadly. That's what they actually will declare and defend.
he put his hands on a ref, you can't do that
Regardless of why the official stopped the match, there is zero excuse for assaulting the ref.
My brother has been a youth baseball/softball umpire for nearly 20 years. Pretty much every game he has to deal with an argumentative or aggressive parent. Fortunately, my brother is 6'3" and 240 lbs, plus he has memorized every rule, so he will quote the rule number and what page that rule is on. Unfortunately, a lot of his colleagues aren't his size and many are women. Several of whom have been physically attacked (no serious injuries). It's a huge problem and every season it gets worse.
To actually outsmart someone which....maybe because I am of mid intelligence is rare....that can be a scary thing. Its almost a blessing to be average when you choose your words not so wisely and fail to outsmart people who'll clobber you.
The fact that the official is also an attorney is so satisfying.
And they wonder why people don't want to officiate anymore...
I used to be an AD for a youth sports league. We always had a cop on hand. That asshole would've been arrested on the spot
My dad was an ump for baseball like 20 years ago and a kids dad charged him and he dropped him with his facemask
Crazy story from my youth to back up what the referee said. I was on my high school wrestling squad, from a small rural town, so to fill in gaps in the weight classes there really wasn't a difference between the JV team and the senior team. In my very first match ever I was matched against a guy who had won the state championship for two years straight. I was definitely outmatched. But I didn't know this. I bet my coach didn't tell me so I didn't psych myself out. At the very start I took him to the mat, which pissed him off totally and he then went on to pretty much do whatever he wanted with me. At one point in the match I stopped him from flipping me onto my back by stretching out my opposite arm, which put a great deal of stress on my shoulder joint. The ref called a stop, stating that my opponent was forcing my limb into a dangerous, unnatural position. So yes, that is a thing. The referee can stop any action deemed harmful and potentially dangerous. There are lots of barred moves in amateur wrestling. Btw the way my coach was proud of me, stating something to the fact that not getting pinned was amazing considering who I was up against.
That’s pretty impressive … did u have a good season ?
@@bayjustin3885 Overall, yeah I did. I won over 60% if memory serves, which was okay for a guy who had to match up in weight classes from 150 to 175 because of how short we were as a whole team.
Clearly the Dad likes setting bad examplea for his son, as witnessed by the kid bending his opponents knee the opposite way it should go.
