As a non-American I found the image of Majorie Traitor Green giving away that gun absolutely abhorrent. I can not imagine why any household would need a gun like that. The reasons given by gun owners make no sense to me.
There have been many occasions throughout US history in which white people like these MAGA folks scapegoated minorities and acted violently towards them. Government institutions were not always willing to protect these populations. So they sometimes have to protect themselves.

When they say it's okay to abort a fetus only under those conditions then clearly they are dictating what a woman can or cannot do with her own body. What makes a fetus conceived through rape or incest any different than one that was unplanned, and unwanted?

You only have to look at the history of Australian gun violence and the ban on guns, to know that banning guns works. John Howard (Australia's prime minister at the time in the late '70s or early 80s) got rid of heaps of guns. You can look up footage of truckloads of guns all destroyed. Before that, Austraia had a mass shooting problem, but after the gun ban, there is hardly any gun violence in Australia. The United States could really learn from Switzerland, where there's a high rate of gun ownership, but extremely low in gun violence, because they have strict gun laws. That's exactly what we need here. I wouldn't ever trust any of the January 6th insurrectionists with a firearm, yet Donald Trump calls them "patriots".
