    Lovely. I never get enough of walking on the streets of Tallinn old town. I'm not sure if you know it but Helsinki exists because of Tallinn. It was a successful almost 400 year old Hansa trade city when Finland was a part of the Swedish empire. The king of Sweden Gustav Vasa wanted to have a competitor for Tallinn in the Swedish empire and founded Helsinki to the opposite shore of the Gulf of Finland in 1550.

      ... interstingly, Helsinki's urban architecture strikes being strongly influenced by Soviet like style, whereas REVAL (Tallin) could luckily prserve its Hanse-based flair.... wonderful!

      Thanks for the Information

      @@camouflage962 not actually soviet but more from the czar era. You remember, Finland was an autonomous grand duchy of the Russian empire 1809-1917. Are you Finnish btw?
      The original Helsinki was about 6 km northeast from the current location of the downtown. It has burned and there's nothing left of it. The center was moved to its current place in 1600s and the oldest stone house preserved is from 1757. All the wooden houses have burned or replaced.

    Normally I skip your city tours (I'm here for the rides). I watched this one just because of the opening clip and the "old town" got better and better. 👍

      Thanks for giving it a go 😎 Part of motorcycle travel for us is being able to get to places that one would not normally visit (although Tallin is very accessible), unlike the typical city tour we don't hang around to long so it's usually just the highlights of a place before getting back on the bike and finding the next place. Anyway glad you enjoyed it and maybe catch you again in the next city tour 😉

    I visited Tallinn when cycling though Estonia on a cycling trip last year - it's now one of my all-time favourite cities! I really fell in love with the place - and the surrounding area with its beaches and forests are stunning as well. Really enjoyed watching your video and reliving some of my memories!

      We had heard that it was nice but didn't expect it to be this good!! It really is an impressive place and I think we will be back here for sure sometime in the future to explore the surrounding area a bit more. Sounds like you had an incredible Cycling tour! -our friend Nick Sanders is currently riding around the world on an E bike and he is enjoying that.
      Thanks very much for your encouraging positive comments and we are really happy that these videos are bringing back memories for you =)

      @@SeanandEmily No worries! Definitely go up to Pirita beach if you do go back - the whole area, including the forest, the botanical gardens and the TV tower - is stunning. It's also really nice to cycle through with lots of cycle lanes and kids on e-scooters everywhere - it feels much more civilised than England 😆

      @SeanandEmily  Год назад +1

      Thanks Eugene, glad yo hear you are enjoying the videos.
      A lot of 1 piece helmets probably have enough room to magnet them on directly however flip up lids have less space so we use a lavalier mic and tuck it into the cheek pad. We recommend the following mic to use with the DJI mics:

      In the 15th century, the Hanseatic League consisted of 160 European cities, including: London, Krakow or Stockholm, which cities were certainly not built by the Hansa, because the Hansa was only a trade union, not a political entity.
