Alright I found the dates of the bottles After almost an hour of research...it appears they are post 1890 because of how the number 34 is centered above the girl and lion and not to the left of it. However it must be pre 1920 as the number 34 does not have quotes around it (ie. “34”) therefore, best guess is they’re between 1891-1919. I personally think it’s probably from around 1900-1910 but I’m a clothing expert, not a medicine one so what do I know? That’s the best I can do for now 😌(And plz comment if you find anything else)
Looks like the book that was mentioned “Humphrey’s Mentor” was originally published in 1906! So the boxes would have to be post-1906 (edit: the tonsilitis box is the one that mentioned the book, so that specific box must be from sometime after 1906)
When I was young I would always go to this antique store near the dentist I go to and it was always fun seeing the knick knacks they had. Now I like to live through Erin since I only go out when it's groceries, but I'm so fascinated and wish I had some of this stuff!
I'd be interested in the video you propose around 20:00. I had old books like that as a kid and I was fascinated by them. My mom and uncle found these huge compilations of German magazines much like that Good Housekeeping one, except much larger (and in German, obvs) and though I couldn't read a word, I spent quite a lot of time poring over them.
My German grandparents still have loads of old things in their house since it's the house my grandad was born in. There's lots of old tins and trinkets, even a sewing machine. You've made me wonder if they have any old magazines like these
A video of you going through the book would be amazing! When I worked at a museum my favorite thing was to look through all of the old books and news papers. I once spent a whole day reading through London news papers from the early 1900's.
@@risebellthesummoner in the past people didn't dispose of their garbage like we do now. They would typically have a garbage pit on their property where they would put empty containers and food scraps. In some cases they would put their garbage in the outhouses (outside toilet) which are are always full of interesting things.
That’s so cool I bet you find a bunch of cool stuff as an archaeologist! Are you allowed to keep any of the old cool stuff you find or do you have to give it to museums?
@@brendan5798 We never keep artifacts to ourselves as that is essentially looting. And yes! We do send artifacts to museums and academic collections to be used for education and research. Thanks for the question always love answering questions about my job 😊
Things we technically don’t know about Erin but can safely guess: 1: was one of those kids that made “soup” out of rain water and leaves in the fall 2: sweet tooth 3: insult studio Ghibli around her and hell will break loose 4: tiny bit of pyromania 5: weekly clears out the entire shelf of glass bottles with corks at Michaels. 6: Erin: *sees rock on the ground*, Erin’s brain: TAKE
She has on a past video stated that as a child she had buckets of rocks and stretched out dresses for carrying them, she’s done a few Ghibi role plays and has stated she enjoys them, in another video she talks about being fascinated by fire, judging by her show and tells she has a large collection of glass bottles. So the only ones I can’t confirm for you is the sweet tooth and soup
I feel like you’d make an amazing charcuterie/cheese board ASMR, one of my favorite moments is Bridgette putting together that care package with the bread and cheese.
