You cannot compare across eras. Bumrah does appear more economical, however Wasim was more lethal and won matches with clutches of wickets. Lets just enjoy Bumrah's bowling

Bumrah will never become the highest wicket taker due to his workload management. But, with regards to impact while playing, he is unmatched.

But this is unrelated to how I feel about Bumrah and Wasim comparisons. I think Bumrah is better, considering how batting friendly this era is compared to the 90s.
Wasim at his peak was better then any one who has ever played the game, no doubt Bumrah is amazing but only last one year of his career has been incredible so we can’t suddenly compare him to Waz.
What rubbish. Bumrah has been at his peak for the last 5 years. Look at his stats. He has had more amazing match winning performances than Wasim already. Look at his stats in overseas test wins. Beats Wasim hands down

Not to forget Wasim also benefitted from a 1- ball in ODI cricket era and without cameras/tech where he could get away with ball tampering. Bumrah gets wickets with a slower ball yorker in test cricket- no way Wasim had those range of skills. Bumrah has won India Test Matches overseas single handedly- something Wasim hasnt. One T20 Match Fluke win by Pakistan doesnt prove anything. Wasim lost a World Cup Game to Bangladesh in 1999 for Gods Sake

They don’t need a full team to create “pressure” or a bowling “partner” to make them successful

i think the comparison is unfair to both Akram and Bumrah............. arguments in favour of Akram: Akram contributed with the bat too, he is still type A diabetic........... arguments in favour of Bumrah: Akram never played t20Is, Bumrah lost 1 to 2 years because of COVID

The only reason in favour of Bumrah is that he bowls in an era where the pitches are way more batsmen friendly. Similarly, the handicap Wasim faced was lack of DRS - the question then is what which of these is a bigger factor in helping bowlers get wickets and would then determine who is a better bowler
Nah, way too early to rate Bumrah over Wasim. Let Bumrah take 300+ test wickets, then we can compare. Wasim had 414 in test matches at 22. Bumrah is awesome, no discredit to him. This coming from an Indian, btw.
