I love Italy! I've taught photography three times there so far across 11 different areas, for two different universities. My favorite coastal areas include the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento area, including swimming in the Baths of Queen Giovanna in the Sorrento area.

Tropea has just recently been crowned "Jewel of the Mediterranean" and having been there, I certainly understand why... breathtakingly beautiful and a charming town with cobblestone roads, many outdoor patios and great food.

Our favorite beach here is in Ansedonia which is in southern Tuscany. A 9 kilometer crescent beach. Cleanest water ever. And a great restaurant/beach club at one end, La Capannuccia. Fantastic food and you are right on the sea. Not near the sea, right on it. We go every year for my wife's birthday in late May. Bare feet, bathing suits and dog friendly. And no, I don't own stock in it.
I love Italy. Except for the U.S, it is probably my favourite country to visit.

These aren't even all of them just a little selection by mojotravel. Being a peninsula Italy is full of stunning beaches from north to south, not to mention the islands like Sicily and Sardinia which are just incredibile! Plus there are a miriad of tiny islands all around the "boot" all enchanting and each with it's own charm.

Ah, Tropea! The whole area around the town is called "costa degli dei", meaning the coast of the Gods; there are countless towns with countless amazing, breathtaking beaches!
I believe the most beautiful beaches are found in Calabria and Sardegna
Calabria DOESN'T have a single beach that could be compared with the beautiful ones in Sardinia, region which have really preserved its coasts and environment, on the contrary of Calabria, where mafia even sank radioactive ships and the coasts are totally ruined by illegal buildings.

We are looking to spend a month in Italy, We eat 100% Plant Based. Are there plenty of Vegan options as we travel around the country? We have only been to Rome.
Hi, I come from Italy. Basically there are many because vegetables here in Italy are top quality. The majority of recipes contains animal derivates but the vegan culture is spreading more and more and u will always find something to eat. Always ask if something is vegan cause there are many recipes with animal derivates (like lard)

How do you get around the Amalfi Coast? Can you rent a car? Where is the nearest airport?
Nearest Airport is in Naples (Napoli) you can rent a car of course, but public transportation is the way to go in my opinion, especially in summer, driving in the Amalfi coast can be a very stressfull experience because of the extreme traffic, lacks of free parking and very skinny roads
