Very interesting enroute ! I used the train to travel from Bucharest to Beijing in 1984, via Mongolia, 9 days. Many changes produced in China ! I visited China 8 times, last visit in May 2019: Shanghai-Xian- Beijing.

The 1st Great wall can be seen when the train passed thru it in 17.15.
What the clip owner visited is the inner Great wall , the visitor tourist point.

This video introduced me to the music of Buckethead about 3 months ago and I haven't stopped listening to his music ever since. I'm even going to see him live in a couple of weeks. This video changed my life. I enjoyed the other music as well as the video itself too.

WOW! Thanks for an amazing video. I did a similar journey (Beijing to Helsinki) by train a few years ago - watching your video today has made me realise its time to do another long train trip - dogigniter you have inspired me to plan it for later this year. I'm thinking Hanoi to London!

I really like the Mark Knopfler song. I've never heard it before. Thanks also for introducing me to Buckethead. I had heard the name but not the music. This song is great! Thanks. Interesting video especially for someone dying to go to china but hesitant due to my fear of flying.

Rather good for 1st video! I like the presentation method of referring map to scenery. Camera work rather amateurish :D The music should match the mood of the landscape. Landscape is the basic material of the video.

I often went from Amsterdam to Guangzhou (by plane). Going by train seems so more interesting. There are only 3 things that hold me back; the number of Visas you have to arrange for (about 4 ??), the time it takes (about 3 weeks?), the priceticket (about twice). But going by train is less boring and you really can see the different countries. Maybe when I retire and have lots of time I will do it by train again?

Great travel video. I went from Pacific to Moscow once, under Soviet Union. Do this again but add more commentary. Travel by plane is fast but not as interesting. Once in awhile, One shld. alight from train and spend a day or 2 in town, to get the track out of one's head. Russian track gauges are wide (talk about gauges, customs, currencies, restrictions, languages., etc. Nowadays, countries are more tourist-business oriented.

fantastic video apart from the music i wish you explained where you was in parts of the video rather than playing music all the way through it some commentary would have been very helpful at least we would know where you was in tour journey as you only put the dates and day number and a quick glimpse at the route map and i mean quick as it wasn't even up long enough for us to read where on the map you was, to read where you was we would have to pause the video so commentary would have been more helpful

I need to do this one day!! But I think I would spend most of the time thinking about who lives in that lonely house, who built that snowman, who is buried in that cemetery, who constructed that bridge, when was the last time someone walked on that patch of land. That person may have a unique view of the world that can change everyones life or has an interesting story, may be...

You must have stopped in Beijing overnight to take a walk along the Great Wall & the Forbidden City! Where else did you stop to smell the roses?
Did you pick a longer route ( & more costly) by going through half of Russia to the North end of Mongolia & then head south to China?
I wonder if it might be cheaper & you would have had more to see if you had gone from west Russia to Kazakhstan, Xinjiang Province in China, Inner Mongolia, Beijing, & then south to Guangzhou.
Your video is well done as an overview summary of your trip!! The indicators on the map really help to clarify your location & raise the viewer's curiosity about what may happen in the next country that you will pass through!!! Perhaps you could post separately more details of the few special places or events that you had experienced on your way.
Thank you very much for sharing your adventurous spirit!!
I hope you are enjoying your teaching job & adventure in southern China!! ( I've retired from my long teaching career in Canada & I'm planning to visit China in the near future! )

Thanks for the comment. I stopped in Moscow, Nizny Norovgod, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Ulan-Baatar, Beijing and Wuhan. I didn't actually have a lot of time as I was due to start teaching in Guangzhou and so had to plan my route accordingly. Sure, I'd like to do Kazakhstan at some point, but for this trip I just settled on Russia. Organising a trip like this with all the right tickets is tough for one person. I visited Xinjiang last year on a separate trip which I am planning to do a video of shortly. If you do end up in South China drop me a line

It wasn't that I had to, or though, to be honest, I don't even remember now, it seems like a lifetime ago. I think I went this way because it was actually slightly faster and required less visas. Also I wanted to see more of Russia than just Moscow, and I do plan to visit Central Asia at some point. It actually wasn't that boring a trip because you never knew what you would see around the next bend, and the longest continuous time I spent on the train was 2 days. Thanks for your comment!

The Chinese have plans to dominate the world economically and by colonizing other continents. Don't believe me? Look at their activities in Africa and Latin America.

John F. Magee it’s more constructive than bombing the $hit out of every country the US seems to be colonising.

John F. Magee Absolutely I do not believe what you say. You still think the british empire way. Since ever and what China does is all to bring prosperity and peace. The World suffered enough because people who think about power and domination as first mighty thing before prosperity through cooperation with other nations. It is enough. The World is neglgently inflicted with so much harm. It is because of people can not think better or think as you think? Being against China what China does economically it is to be against humanity, peace and prosperity . China now, fights on all fronts to correct the mess and poverty given because of decades of neglegence and abuse, but obviously as usually there are people as you, who with jealousy and hate saying aganinst Chinese. Whoever is against the Belt and Road, those are against peace in the World and peaceful coexistence.
