      As a person who's anglish is a second language, sometimes when i talk I mismach the pronounts( i could talk to the most feminine or masculine person and still call them different) I do it mostly when talking quickly and not giving it much thought and i fear the day when I will mismach the prounounts of someone to whom those are important, i hope that with practise i will get better tho. Plus the first time seing prounount them(in use for a nonbinary person) I thougt it was about a group of people not one😂 now i just have to check the person to know (i don't want to make anyone sad or uncomftable). Ahh the struggles and fears of talking in different language😂

    • @randomripoff123
      @randomripoff123 5 лет назад +2

      there are SO many languages that are totally different about pronouns--so don't worry abt it! i've even made the same kind of mistake myself--like you said, especially when you're talking quickly. lol the general rule of thumb is that if you're trying and don't make a big deal out of it if you slip up by accident, all is good! speaking another language is rough enough, so you get plenty of leeway&empathy on that front, no worries. appreciate the concern and effort! but don't sweat it too much and just keep on trying. you're doing fine. :)

I thought growing up that you could be attracted to someone and only wanted to have sex with them AFTER you starting dating them and getting to know them. Then I learned that’s being demisexual and not everyone does that. My mind was kind of blown when I realized I just thought that was normal, even with being gay or lesbian or trans.

And more pertinently, is it even possible to overstate how fucked up that is? I just... I don't understand what the hell they were going for with that one...

      Katrina Hockman - Right? I mean, one long-time friend suddenly wanted to start an affair, and another came out of the woodwork of the land of ‘we used to be good friends years ago’ because he got divorced and was texting me all friendly-like, but was really in a long-con of just looking for a hookup, so I guess good riddance. The idiot in the conversation is this mess of a person I’d shot down TWICE in the past (the second time because he apparently forgot I was in a relationship?) and some time later had insinuated I should give someone (presumably him) “a chance” - lol, I have no idea if he thought I never banged a dude before or if he forgot AGAIN I’m in a relationship and meant to give HIM a chance, but I bluntly laid it out for him that nobody’s got the magical dick that makes my sexuality change 😂

      Yeah, it is a big debate cause ace people havent ever been like burned or imprisoned but at the same time the lgbtq+ community is supposed to be for everyone whose gender or sexuality is not cis/straight and ace is not straight so that leaves people kinda confused. Personally, (im a pansexual cisgender female btw) i simply don't have the knowledge or understanding (i dont think anyone does, really) to draw untouchable lines of who belongs in the community and who doesnt. If u are ace/aro etc and u think u belong in the community, then thats good enough for me.

      Turns out I’m technically “pansexual”. I like men, women, non-binary, transgender, intersex, whatever. I love the person, not the gender. I just didn’t know the term & assumed if you like men or women, why would not like any in between, mix or non traditional? It seemed phobic of any non-traditional gender. I see know it’s more recognizing there are MORE THAN 2 genders AND, YES, that ALSO I PERSONALLY don’t care about any gender in my attraction. I can be attracted to any gender, it’s the specific person. Bisexuals may NOT feel that way. 🤷🏻‍♀️👍🏽

Mary Hines may feel both, but not because all bisexuals are afraid to be alone! 1 doesn’t cause the other. She’s bisexual & maybe she doesn’t want to be alone RIGHT NOW.
      Also, Mary, that’s hard to admit. I applaud both your honesty with us AND YOURSELF!! Maybe looking @ it wondering why you might feel that way could be helpful. I get it. I’ve rarely NOT been in a relationship since I was 16. I don’t feel a need to have a romantic partner or anything. I’m whole & happy alone. (Unlike some, NOT TALKING ABOUT Mary, BUT MORE I have heard some people can psychologically be afraid to be alone & not know why.) I’ve also not only been lucky in attracting mates I really was attracted to & fell in love with, whether I was looking to or not, I also have had really amazing, happy wonderful partners in all but 1 of the 4 boyfriends/1 is now & has been for 8 years my husband. So I could see how relationships can be so healthy, happy, wonderful & fun to have! I can see why with that kind of experience, dating is fun & enjoyable. So why not always have a healthy, happy, wonderful romance! OR maybe some people just enjoy dating? That doesn’t sound BAD either!

And I explained that she was born with the same body parts as a boy, but inside her mind she was always a girl... So she needed that surgery to make the body match. And he was like "ohhhh... That's good" and happy that she could be herself and be happy as the girl she was. He used to think girls used their bums to pee... Cause they don't have a pipi, so... Yeah... I had to explain we have parts that are different... That we are not like plastic dolls or anything. I am not sure if he fully understands, tho. And he is 9 now. But that is how kids are. They are most concerned about happiness than other stuff. Adults are the ones who put bad things into their minds.
      I have a fiancée and they adore each other. He said that he likes having 2 moms. Is twice the love and the cuddles.
      By the way: english is not my first language either. We are alright^^

      @@BookishBetsy thanks for the info, it makes sense that not all trans folks would identify with feeling as though they're "trapped in the wrong body." However I do think it might be an easy way to describe a pretty complicated idea to a young child at first. If you don't mind me asking, what do you think would be a more accurate and/or inclusive way to describe being transgender to a curious young child?

    • @Phenrex

      who-what-videos-maybe Can I ask why you say biromantic instead of panromantic? Doesn’t biromantic mean you only want to date people who fit the binary, meaning people who strictly identify as men and women? If so, why would you not want to date other nonbinary people/other genders? (Curious)

    • @Phenrex
      @Phenrex 5 лет назад

      Generic Name That doesn’t really make sense to me personally? Isn’t the entire point of having pan and bi because they mean two different things? Doesn’t bi, considering the prefix itself literally refers to two (on/off, 1/0, male/female) would if not exclude anything else excluding the two within said accepted binary? (half-lit, 2, nonbinary/genderfluid)?

    • @Phenrex
      @Phenrex 5 лет назад

      Generic Name Yeah, I think that using bi- specifically if you are only attracted to men/women and using pan- if attracted to any gender is kind of important for making the terms understandable in the long run. What’s the purpose of having bisexual and pansexual anyway if they are going to mean the exact same thing? Plus, if someone is attracted to men and women but not nonbinary people then they are left without a suitable term or label to use to efficiently voice that attraction to others.

    • @Phenrex
      @Phenrex 5 лет назад

      Generic Name True, though I believe that it still has its place as there potentially could be people just not attracted to nonbinary or genderfluid individuals regardless of the existence of pansexual/panromantic people. Like, you may not personally know anyone like that but that doesn’t mean that label as a descriptor suddenly has 0 possible usage to anyone.
      Additionally, I know transgirls who make no moves to actually transition excluding socially with pronouns and the second I hear they are a girl I see them as a girl. I don’t feel attracted to them and I just find them ‘adorable’ instead. (I’m a gay transdude, to clarify). Could it not be the same for ‘bisexual’ people who wouldn’t want to use the pansexual label?

    • @Phenrex
      @Phenrex 5 лет назад

      Stella Klespitz Well, your romantic attraction, who you feel inclined to crush on or what have you, is usually going to coincide with who you want to date, lol. I don’t feel an attraction or inclination to date girls because I’m homoromantic, I only feel interested in dating other guys. Peaking interest enough to ask someone on a date is how you start the process of love anyway, or at least how you develop a romantic relationship beyond potentially one sided feelings or a crush.

      @@LuLu6214 Pansexual is usually defined as being attracted to all genders OR being attracted to people regardless of their gender. Bisexual is usually defined as being attracted to two or more genders (this may or may not include nonbinary genders depending on the person). Some bisexual people report attraction feels different depending on which gender it's directed at, while pansexual people are more likely to not find it different. Hope this helps!
