Made an albatross with my p770 6 iron from 208 yards two weeks ago. With or without it, I love those clubs.

I got the 790's 3-PW & score high 70's low 80's all day! Only been back playing golf about 4-5 months. I'm 34 now , and haven't played since I was 13. I won all my junior competitions, but I think I'm only still OK because I've practiced a lot these past couple months. That & the fact I love my golf clubs!!
I just switched from P790’s to P7MB’s. Love the feel and workability with the P7MB’s. They look unreal too

how forgiving are they?
One thing I can’t stand in my mid and longer irons is a long blade and you answered that right off the jump. I’m saying this as a player who routinely scores in the 90s and my best score ever was an 84. So, if you prefer the smaller look (where the blade don’t feel like a hockey stick and have loads of offset) but think you have to score in the 70s to have them, erase that thought and get the clubs that inspire more confidence if that’s what you prefer. In fact, I think no matter the skill level right down to beginners shoulder start with players irons, not forged blades, but smaller clubs without the chunk. Those type clubs set my game back for years, as long as I used them. Different variations of Burners if you’re curious lol.
Agreed. I just hate the look and feel of a chunky iron. My golf brain functions much better when I see a thin and lightweight-looking club behind the ball.

I’m about to get fitted for either the 790 or 770. Does a combo set of 790 from 4-6, and 770 from 7-pw sound like a good combo?
Did you end up going with this set up? I'm considering the exact same iron selection but also including a 3 iron
@@jessejamrowski8786 I went with the full set of P790 because it was a bit more forgiving and it was my second year of golf. Really happy with them, but if you have played for sometime and want a bit more control with you shorter irons i would definitly recommend using P770 from 7-PW

The 770's are gorgeous. When I got fit the rep said either the 770 or 790 would be great for me so to take my pick. Compared to my Sldr irons I moved on from the 790 I hit 12 yards farther and the 770 I hit 8 yards farther.
the shafts are 1/4 of an inch longer for the entire p790 set, and the lofts are 1 to 1.5 degrees stronger throughout. Not saying that the hollow body and speed foam didn't make a difference, just saying that they probably are actually 5 yards longer when you factor in those stats.
I’ve just watched this in amazement, it’s pure marketing twaddle. Major companies have inflated prices of their equipment supposedly due to technological advances. Please remember, you can enjoy the game of golf with forty year old blades, without speed pockets, titanium weights and all the shit these manufacturers like us to believe, is essential to the game. Please Taylormade et al, no more twaddle.
I get what youre saying but the feel of the p770 vs the feel of my old irons is just in incomparable. Stats are similar but the feel is just so much better on the newer sets of iron. We are talking 2012 vs p770 (2020?)
little bit of this side, little bit of that. There is a big difference in mishit trajectories, but it still isn't rocket science lol, and it probably costs them about $40 a club to develop, manufacture and ship.

P770 look really good l. I have the old and discontinued ones but they feel great!!! P790 also look clean

I currently play ping i210 irons playing of 7 hc. What do you recommend I try ? What reasons should I not go for more forgiveness from the p790? Is it just spin I need to be concerned about? I have a p790 2iron and love it.
I also have the p790 2iron and game the 2019 p790s I’d say go to your local fitter and see about a fitting an see what club works best. It may be you find no improvement from similar irons. I’d say throw your money at good wedges an putter as that’s the scoring end of your bag
