My god. I'm seven months late but I absolutely love Dead Rising 2: OTR and this video is documentary level. There really isn't much exposure for this game and this video makes me really happy that at least a few other people out there feel the same way I do. This video really captures the unique gameplay aspects that the original Dead Rising 2 never had. You're seriously underrated and I hope you receive the recognition you deserve.

To me Off the Record is the #1 Best Deadrising game and Frank West is a God damn GOAT in this game. His one liners are soo cheesy and just so perfect lol I personally like to think of this as the real sequel to the first game. Every once or two years I'll do a playthrough of Both Deadrising 1 and DR2 Off the record and pretend that is the end of the story. Feels very satisfying every time I go back to these two games.
Off the record is meant to be satisfying tho It’s meant to be the perfect ending that never was, case west is still the definitive end to Dr 2 and Frank West

The only thing I don't like about Sandbox mode, is the Royal Flush Plaza safehouse is empty & I feel lonely when I head back there. The reason why I hang out in there, is it's free from zombies whenever I want save the game. They should've had those survivors hangout in there, incase people wanted to play a poker minigame with them in sandbox mode.
Love your video my man. Transitions to every point of the games content being improved is so well done. OTR was my Dead Rising 2, it was disappointing how this was non-canon, considering how well developed the story was compared to Chuck’s. All and all, it was a great tome to have this being my childhood game.

I honestly want them to continue this timeline in a future Dead Rising game. Dead Rising 3: On the Record or some shit. For the People. I know those are dumb titles but give it a sub title and make it take place after Off the Record. I don't really want to live in a timeline where "Frank" went through the shittiest transformation and story in Dead Rising 4, utterly ruining Frank forever in the future. That's not saying they can't ever make a Dead Rising 5 but I'd just save that timeline for new characters and Chuck at this point. OR if they want, just release a game called Dead Rising 4 and never address that they made 2 DR4's. And obviously the new one would be a replacement and hopefully better.

Best way to make the 1 Mill without wasting in game time is to just go into sandbox mode grab all the magazine needed for gambling and go nuts on the big screen casino slot till you get the money. No time wasted in story mode and easiest fastest way to get money.
That's exactly what I did when I realized your Sandbox Mode save can be connected to your Story Mode save, you can also get the entire Proto Man costume by unlocking things in both Story Mode and Sandbox Mode. Some pieces of the costume come from the Story and some come from Sandbox.
Im still waiting for a good sonic game! I really loved Frank and when he met the photographer in the first game it really showed off the type of character he was. going after his big story but not being a straight psychopath for his mission
Great review / video on Dead Rising off the Record. Just my opinion I think it would be cool if just like in the first Dead Rising they were to bring back the feature were after beating the game to show the chart of those survivors that Frank saved.
Dead Rising 2: Off the Record is everything Dead Rising 2 should have been. I would love if they continued the story of this alternate universe. It's just a good game and a good story.

But yeah, Frank West is the much better protagonist in my opinion, plus OTR has the Proto Man costume with the hilarious run animation. I hope Capcom will bring this series back to life after remastering the first game, or at least give us a DR2/OTR "deluxe remaster" as well.

as far as I'm concerned...the series ended after Off the Record...there was no Chuck Green Dead Rising 2, or 3 and ESPECIALLY no 4...Frank uncovered the Phenotrans conspiracy, killed TK, rescued Rebecca and they both went out to break the story wide open and ride off in the sunset...yeah I know that's probably MY crazy What If universe, but its sure as hell better then what actually ended up happening...a washed up main character that no longer looked or sounded like our original hero, in a flop of a game constantly being made look bad by his younger female protege...with a game you needed to PAY DLC to get the WHOLE story...which resulted in Capcom shutting down the studio...yeah what is canon when the series is dead? I personally have never enjoyed time missions, but a timed game? That was something I had never imagined, and both times I got into the game without knowing there was a global timer. I understand it's crucial to the structure of DR, but I just want to have fun. I just found out this one has a sandbox mode, and maybe this is the one (DR4 also doesn't have a timer, but it feels like a straight up downgrade).
To me Dead Rising is just the 2 part story of Frank with the OG and OTR and DR2 is the what if for me. I've never played 3 though and 4 sucks so that's why I just make that my headcanon.
