I think the title is causing most people to think that the texture release ruined your hair, when really it was damage from heat, then adding another texture release on top of it (which also uses more heat). I had some heat damaged parts before I did my texture release and it basically just locked in the straight part. I was able to get some curl back using bond repair. Strangely the heat damaged parts are super health though. They don't break off and they don't have split ends. 🤷🏽♀

I’m sorry to hear your experience. I currently have a texture release and I’ve gotten it 2x. My hair is thriving and retaining length like never before, however I do keep it curly majority of the time and only straighten when I get the texture release. I did freak out the 2nd time. I washed my straight hair it stayed straight, but I just didn’t wash it well (I washed it again) and it went back to normal. Also on some peoples hair the texture release last longer!
That’s the mistake I made!! I should’ve only straightened it whilst getting the texture release 😭 glad to hear yours is going well and that process works! I’ll be sticking to that when my hair grows out :) xx
I've also had very few issues with my texture release. But then I don't straighten it very often and do very little to it. I had it done in May 22 but feel that silk presses professionally done will do me for now.
Tysm for posting!! I’m wanting to do a TR but I don’t like wearing my hair straight. Glad to know your hair can still be healthy as long as heat is moderate. 🙏🏾

I'm so sorry for the difficulty it caused! the messed up part is that it only takes 1 time ugh you never really know. my hair once got heat damage from only ONE straightening in more than 4 years. it'll grow back!
Based on what you said at the 6th minute, you’re title is therefore false? The true culprit is getting a TR done on already heat damaged hair. Especially if the intention is to preserve your remaining curl pattern? Just trying to make sense of what is being said? I really feel sorry for you, because you definitely received bad advice. Especially as you are intent on preserving your curl pattern they shouldn’t have encouraged you to get thé TR. :(
@@clairedaniels1877 she should have stopped straightening it once it wore off. The TR is a safe way of straightening our hair, she’s at fault not the TR.
I have used the design essentials sts texture release on my 3c/4a hair type for the last two years mind you I only get the treatment done 1-2 times a year. It works perfectly for me. This is an amino acid treatment not a texturizer or relaxer. My hair is still very curly just without the frizz. When I decide to straighten my hair it is very straight. I am big on conditioning and heat protection. I also use olaplex.
@@Virtuenow Correct! After I receive the texture I will wait about 4 days to rewash my hair and then i will use the olaplex for extra support. My scalp is naturally very oily so I wash my hair every 4 days in general. Side note I only receive the texture release in the warmer months just to remove frizz. That's why I only receive the application 1 or 2 times a year. I don't need it the colder months.
honestly that gaslighting behaviour of some hairdressers makes me soo mad. So sorry this happened to you. I feel like I'm forever changing hairdresser as I haven't been able to find one that I trust. If you have any advice about how to find black hairdressers in London that'd be much appreciated! (treatwell is not the one!)
I had a really good experience with Ama’s Hair Salon in North London, I've only been there twice but when I got a silk press it lasted ages and my hair is so healthy & no damage.
I would advise to avoid hair salons at all costs. Aim to find a mobile or home based hairdresser that is organic rather than commercial, and is transparent. They're very rare however, there are a small few.
You just need to find a hairstylist with 20 yrs + and absolutely do you homework check the pros and cons. There’s some good cosmetologist here on YT Elite Hair USA, Cyn Doll but still try to find information in books, dermatologists.

I've literally been lurking around your page every week for ages. I was just looking for an upload of yours to watch and I stumbled across this title 😭😭😭😭 oh no. Lemme watch
The saddest part is it's usually the ones with the thickest hair, which mean it has nothing to do with being "kinky". I find my hair very easy to make but I have low to medium density. And then because they have so much hair, they prolong washing their hair regularly so it becomes matted. I had a roommate from Iran that had loose curls but she had so. much. hair. She had me put a relaxer in just to see if she could get some control over it. Thicc!!!
@@BklynBabe: Sometimes this is the case too. But many *many* Black women are unhappy about texture and curl pattern irrespective of density and volume.
Why is it problematic that women want easier options in caring for their/our hair texture? My hair is fine and tight. It breaks alot when detangling, combing, etc. So, the length that I manage to get, I don't maintain. Amino acid treatments have helped me maintain length. Not that I own anyone an explanation, but I'm just trying to share a different perspective with you. Can't it just be preference vs problematic? Maybe your texture is easier to manage. Maybe not.
@@tfilcrab: I say that because people *treat* and *talk about* Afro-texturized hair as IF it were problematic. I’m not saying it IS, I’m saying it’s perceived that way. We, more than anyone, camouflage or hide our hair with other people’s hair *always* straighter and more loosely curled and usually longer than our own. We go to great lengths to alter its natural texture and appearance. We behave as if the straighter and longer our hair is the more it’s a flex. Why does it even need to retain more length? Why not let it do what it does and be what it is? We all know texture release and keratin treatments can be damaging and not only make hair more “manageable” they alter the curl pattern and are formulated to make straight styles straighter. Centuries of colonialism, enslavement, being historically ridiculed by Europeans, disenfranchisement, segregation, discrimination, etc., have affected our attitudes and thoughts about our hair and our complexions. I think a lot of us are in some degree of denial about how racism has seeped into our collective subconscious. Even Andre Walker, who created the hair-typing chart said, “Kinky hair can have limited styling options; that’s the only hair type I suggest altering with professional relaxing.”
@@hereforit2347 Thank you for replying. Much appreciated. I can't speak for anyone else but myself and I'll admit that my hair is, at times, problematic. As such, I want options that allow me to manage my hair. I have no shame in admitting that (NOT THAT YOU'RE SAYING I SHOULD/DO). I think everyone will always want something different. No one solution fits all. Why does someone need to retain more length? That's hard to ask or assess when you dont know the length they are currently at. I love my chocolate skin tone, but yeah, I do wish it was easier to manage without needing to apply heat, chemicals, etc. A Texture release and a keratin treatment can be damaging, but so can wearing my hair in her natural state (mine having the issues listed above). That's why I've come to ask questions and watch videos. I mean no disrespect and I'm not debating with you. I hope you don't mind me replying to your post. Just sharing another perspective as I'm sure there must be someone that shares both of our perspectives. Blessings you to and Nucchi
So, did the texture release ruin your hair or did it make an already bad situation worse than it was? You said you should have gotten it again. So, I'm confused. I'm asking because I'm interested in the TR, but I dont want to make a mistake in getting it if it will destroy my hair.
I think the TR made it worse in the sense that it only exacerbated the inconsistency in her curl pattern (or lack thereof). This was in part due to the application of the more recent TR because the stylist did not apply it down to the root, meaning that she had her natural texture, as well as the partially and extremely damaged mid length to end hair. It would make the hair look bizarre because the untouched roots would revert way quicker, while the parts with the texture release would just hang. Had the texture release been applied better (all the way down to the roots) then her hair would look more uniform, as opposed to inconsistent. In addition, she would probably have to use even more heat just to lay her roots down which completely negates the benefit of the texture release because that part of her hair would only stay straight if she kept straightening it = more heat damage
@@silverscots6788 Thanks for your reply. So, it’s not that the TR is a bad product, it just exacerbated an already compromised situation. The title is a bit… but I see it has a question mark.
@@tfilcrab i think shes saying if she wanted to keep wearing her hair straight , she shouldve got the texture release bc it wouldve kept her hair straighter for longer. but because she didn't she kept straightening her natural hair which gave her heat damage. so i think she's saying that the texture release wouldve prevented the heat damage she got to the extent she got it. and then it was made worse by the texture release on top of the heat damage/ the stylist
Hey girlie! So sorry you are experiencing this! Breakage at the crown happened to me too. My hairstylist, who is a "top dog" (lol) here in Los Angeles for WOC, said that the crown is a common place for breakage because that can be a stress point on the head for many people. So essentially...we may just be stressed 😭💆
It was your stylist. Not the texture release. A step was skipped or the iron was too high. I've been doing texture releases since thr beginning of my career 7 years ago & every single client still comes. W/ absolutely no heat damage. & they only get 2-3 a year, heat damage should've even be possible when its that sparce. Following instructions is important. Alot of stylists wont do exactly what the instructions say once they think they know what they're doing & try to tweak it.
I know it’s under a lot of scrutiny atm but olaplex 0 and 3 really changed the game and literally reverted my heat damage. Use at your own risk lol but it changed my hair
Head damage or a TR? ...your title is misleading either way I hope your hair recovers...heat damage I feel like needs lots of hot oil treatments back to back but that's just for me I'm no expert. Got a TR yesterday ill see how it is I aim to just put heat once a month cause I got the 7 passes so I can wash and go
I’ve been waiting for someone to talk about this, I thought I was the only one who struggled with texture release. I even had it done twice and my hair is in bits, different length, feels awful…never again!!!
I received it twice, my coarse thick hair was bouncy, full, & bodied-it looked so hydrated & healthy!! But I really should have stopped after the first application, tho! My scalp broke out in sores & scabs-it was like it was on fire. After going to urgent care and receiving an allergic reaction creme, I felt as tho it would be okay the next time. Dumb me, I kno-the 2nd application was not as BAD as the first, still having beautiful bouncy & bodied hair! BUT-it was shedding & coming out sooooo bad to where if I had my sunroof open hair would be all over my car, shoulders & sometimes in my mouth. It was coming out in my hand if I just rubbed my hands thru it. My stylist informed me after seeing picts of my hair in the sink, that it was as normal. My thought process was NOT FOR ME!! Well, as I type it’s been 2 months & my hair has been treated with OLAPLEX for the so called shedding, BUT it didn’t stop my hair from breaking off at the roots. Yes, I tried 2 strand twists & air dried-my hair broke off at the root in some areas. Not to discourage anyone just giving my experience with Texture Release. P. S.-only used heat with my stylists at my appointments (1 x a month) Good luck
Sis your natural texture was already beautiful. I would recommend you to keep your hair well conditioned and moisture. Keep it in braids for a protective style. Drink lots of water. Blessings ❤️
I'm sorry for what happened to you. Im also a adept of texture release, it does loosen you hair but your hair is still of kinky but not as like the natural state of the hair. Honestly when its done properly and without over using heat throught time, its a great product. I personnaly would recommand to do it twice a year with 6 months between the two time.
So, when I tell you that I am sitting here with my sister screaming at the phone. I was like "look look, she is going through the exact same thing that I am!". My sister wasn't bothered lool, but I am perplexed. I, too, got the weird heat damage where some parts were straight whereas my front hairs had random, inconsistent curl pattern variations. I assumed it was the straightener I used, because it is keratin infused one which I have never used before but I donno. ALSO, I twisted my hair (no added hair) and randomly me and my sister noticed that there was massive patches of hair missing near my crown. The issue is when there are too many variables involved with the routine because it is hard to pinpoint what the damaging factors are. I've just been putting my hair in cornrows and going about my life. My hair routine has to be simple for my own peace. I wouldn't even have to apply so much heat to my hair if stylists would style my hair as it is naturally smh. Also, unrelated, but something I just found out. The CHI silk infusion product is not supposed to be applied before heat styling, it is supposed to be applied afterwards. It has a high alcohol content and many people have not been informed how to use it properly
This was the risk in using a texture release and a strong possibility with using high heat alone. Hopefully people walk into these hair systems with full awareness there’s a strong chance your hair WILL NOT REVERT. I am hoping mine will NOT revert but it always shrinks back 😩 (my hair is very unmanageable at 90% shrinkage). Again, if it’s not breaking or falling out then it achieved the proper results. We know regular heat use can do that by itself for most people.
Same happened to be and im triming regularly now every 3 months and i went for the top dog and she still ruined my hair the director of the hair salon and i had mine done ONE time last year September and it still looks wierd my new growth is coming in and i trim it mayb i need to wash it more because these days i braid it with extentions because i dont like how it looks lol and my hair is short with the trims.
I have locs now but I still like my hair the best straight. The thing with relaxers or any other chemical used on the hair is it only takes once to ruin it completely. It is just too stressful.
Thank you for this because in my salon most of our customers just keep doing it but we do get customers asking will it change my hair pattern so this is helpful
Happened to me too. I didn’t even consent to it. I think I was a Guinea pig. This was over 10 years. This isn’t new. I had to big chop. The silver lining is that I have more hair than before and it’s healthier and curls are beautiful!
Please learn to LOVE your natural hair. You fighting against the texture God gave you is what is destroying your hair. It's fine to try different styles, but it should be because you like having fun with your hair, not because you're hiding it.
It’s a chemical …the chemical is heat activated , it’s similar to a keratin treatment. Avlon requires 5-7 passes of heat at 450 degrees to activate that keeps your hair straighter…just like a keratin treatment. Formaldehyde-free hair straighteners do not technically contain formaldehyde; however, they contain other chemicals such as glyoxyloyl carbocysteine which releases formaldehyde upon contact with heat.
It's ironic how some of us will complain that kinky natural hair is "hard to manage" but will end up with damage, "hard to manage" hair after chemically altering the texture. Very ironic indeed.
Im am so upset I did a texture release - my regrowth is growing dread like or should I say its really tough to comb - where as my hair before used to be so easy to detangle with just my fingers - now getting a wide tooth comb through it is pain
If you like the idea of Texture Release, please do not give up on it. You just had a bad experience of it due to the SHODDY JOB of an INEXPERIENCED HAIRDRESSER.. It can be a bit of 'TAKING A CHANCE' sometimes, putting your precious hair in the hands of a hairdresser. Some couldn't be bothered to do their best. Few are PASSIONATE about treating clients' hairs as PRECIOUS!
I had that crown breakage as well and it also came with a lot of inflammation in that area - I went to see a dermatologist as I suspected it was CCCA. She said she didn’t think it was CCCA and prescribed me with 5 % minoxidil spray with 1% tretinoin. My iron levels were also super low so I started taking iron tablets and after that the hair grew back and it’s never happened again. I think it’s a combination of the hair there being very fragile and susceptible to breakage combined with other factors like low iron, mechanical breakage (eg from combs and heat damage)
Texture release also damagedmy hair. I only used it once, and rarely straighten my hair, but still the damage was permanent. Now because of the changes in textures, my hair is breaking off.
Haven't watched the whole video yet, but have you tried using beer to help it revert? Beer rinses have a tendency of tightening my curls back after straightening.
Same thing happened to me from a blowdry try k18 and aphogee curlrific and keep cutting the ends trust me your hair will bounce back and inches hair conditioner from enitan
I had a similar experience. I have very fine hair to the point that the stylist who applied the texture release questioned why I was doing it. I got it done in Feb/March. Once my texture release "wore off", I noticed that curls were never the same. I wore my hair in braids through the summer and then in the fall I started to get it pressed again; however I didn't go to the stylist who applied the texture release. Worst decision. After three visits I noticed I had absolutely no curls left. 😩😭 So I'm in the process of treating my hair at home using olaplex. I've done three washes so far and I'm starting to see my curls return. But I'm still having to combat breakage due to my kinky roots and wavy/straight ends.🥴 Between the treatments and trims I'm hoping to have all my curls back and I probably won't do the texture release again. I'll just deal with my presses sweating out after two days lol 😄 I would suggest using a treatment system like olaplex or maybe the k18. I haven't used the latter but I'm planning to after six weeks of olaplex.
Was the hairdresser you went to Maison style by any chance in a London?👀 I ask because I was just looking at their website and know they have lower prices for junior stylists and the owner advocates a lot for texture release…
I had my TR done there by the “stylist” who was not the lead stylist or a junior stylist. It’s been about 2 and a half weeks and I could not be happier. My wash days are simple and quick now. My curls look amazing and my hair is even more amazing straightened.
that doesn't even scientifically make sense. hair grows by cells multiplying in the follicle. there is no way that a texture release could effect that.
Jennifer Cynthia here on RUclips does texture releases. When I looked it up I found it’s just an amino acid treatment that is allegedly harmless. Clearly, this is not the case.
Yeah they state the organic ingredient then conveniently hide the toxic chemical ingredient. Or sometimes the toxic ingredient is under a scientific long name. It's important to be wise and cautious especially when going to these commercial hair salons and using commercial hair products. A texture release sounds like a sophisticated name for a chemical relaxer. It wasn't too long ago that people would say they are getting their hair texturised and this was another name for a relaxer that apparently loosens your curls. See how they play and dupe you.
@@mariepearl-harbour2335: Right. A “texturizer” is definitely a relaxer. It’s a mild relaxer like an “S-Curl” which does the exact same thing a relaxer does but to a lesser extent by loosening the curl without completely straightening it. Revlon, Posner, and other companies also used to sell “mild” relaxers that did the same thing. Maybe they still do. I used to use a mild relaxer to loosen my curls just a tad when I wore a bob back in the day. And then, there is the “tex-lax” method which is leaving a regular-strength relaxer in your hair for less than the manufacturer’s recommended time in order to leave some texture in the hair and cause it less damage.
@@mariepearl-harbour2335: No, no 😂 . . . I didn’t say that. A “texturizer” and “tex-lax” are relaxers, not a “texture release”. According to Google: “What is a texture release? A texture release is a heat-activated straightening system that uses a combination of amino acids and glyoxylic acid to temporarily loosen curly and coily hair. It's a treatment that has to be done in-salon by a professional.Oct 26, 2022”
I'm sorry you had this experience, but a Texture Release is a relaxer, it is just semi-permanent using milder chemicals. Your thick ""kinky" hair is gorgeous
Thanks for the clarification. I thought this texturiser was a sophisticated word for a relaxer. See how these opaque hair salons deviously deceive you into putting silent chemicals in your hair. There probably is a natural hair texturiser that releases your hair curls that is natural and organic. However, many have been introduced to the counterfeit chemical one that will damage your hair. A coconut milk hair relaxer is organic and natural.
@@mariepearl-harbour2335 I doubt they're hiding anything. The science behind it is in papers you can find on Google Scholar , and patents seen on Google patents. The scientist's who invented the Avlon Texture Release is Dr Ali N Syed, for those who want to do their own research. Anything that's a chemical has the ability to affect you negatively if used in the wrong way.
Best thing is to cut out the texture release growing it out will break your hair off even more get regular deep professional hair treatments and leave natural
I had one texture release a couple years ago and that was enough for me, I saw the difference in my curls straight away and knew it was lies about it bounces back... It definitely loosened my curl pattern and I would imagine the more you got it done the worse it got, density completely went and I am still recovering. You live and you learn. Olaplex is my girl and has been that girl . Side note... Sounds like you had uneven heat distribution unfortunately but it will grow back 🙂
I was so happy when the person who puts cornrolls in my own hair so i can wear my hair said. It's best not to use heat or anything to change my hair texture. And my hair is easy to braid and last once braided compared to their mix kids hair that tangles and don't hold braid easily. Its my brother but still😅
You have beautiful hair. I would just start from scratch and learn how to work with it. Find a good natural hairstylist that doesn’t do silk press. Rock the curls. ❤
I’m not understanding why you went so long without washing your hair. That’s not even hygienic😧 like seriously, your scalp needs to be cleaned. There is natural hair oils and candida that builds up on your scalp and can cause health issues, a lot of build up and inflammation, and it stunt the growth and health of your hair if you don’t clean it regularly. As a black adult you should wash your hair every 5-7 days. Some people feel that’s too soon, I get it. But you should never go over a month, EVER! Every one of us has a cell turnover each month, that’s when the scalp sheds cells and tissue/skin, it’s the only time we should get white flakes on our scalp. It usually happens during ministration time. Yep, we are amazing women! Our whole body does a detox at that time every month(even our breast sheds cells and tissue each month) True Story!😊 so a good clarifying wash each month is essential and a deep condition afterwards. Instead of waiting for the national oil to reach our tips we need to massage the scalp and pull it down onto our hair. Because our hair is kinky curly the oils does take longer to coat the hair shaft and it builds up on the scalp and slows hair growth. So we have to help it…. But going sooo long without washing! That’s not it.
I keep telling yall to quit jumping on all these trendy trends lol. Ol school was the best school. Grandma n great grandma didnt have any of these problems caring for their grils' hair.

Tysm for posting!! I’m wanting to do a TR but I don’t like wearing my hair straight. Glad to know your hair can still be healthy as long as heat is moderate. 🙏🏾
I've used maybe 6x and I wear it straight most of the time. I love that it stays straight in the humidity.
@@jcsgrl359hiya how humid are we talking? Im going on holiday soon and want to get texture release but Im unsure whether my hair will revert in the heat.
Or maybe she should've gotten less passes with the flat iron to preserve her curl pattern once the texture release started wearing off?
@@clairedaniels1877 she should have stopped straightening it once it wore off. The TR is a safe way of straightening our hair, she’s at fault not the TR.
@@MissAngie25 Oh ok
Probably should just let the hair stylists do it
So sorry this happened to you - but the title does seem to imply the texture release is to blame when it sounds like it wasnt
When do you use Olaplex? On non- application days, correct? If so, How long after your texture release do you use it?
@@Virtuenow Correct! After I receive the texture I will wait about 4 days to rewash my hair and then i will use the olaplex for extra support. My scalp is naturally very oily so I wash my hair every 4 days in general. Side note I only receive the texture release in the warmer months just to remove frizz. That's why I only receive the application 1 or 2 times a year. I don't need it the colder months.
Very helpful, thank you
@@Princesspookii3 You're welcome!

honestly that gaslighting behaviour of some hairdressers makes me soo mad. So sorry this happened to you. I feel like I'm forever changing hairdresser as I haven't been able to find one that I trust. If you have any advice about how to find black hairdressers in London that'd be much appreciated! (treatwell is not the one!)
Girl.. I don't go yo black hair salons anymore. That's right I go to a white salon and a black trichologist.
@@pamg4174 Just because a hairdresser has 20 years+ experience doesn't mean they are homemade and organic. Most hairstylists are commercial, some commercial hairstylists are great, but are great commercial hairstylists who specialise in using commercial products. Not homemade or natural and organic hair products. Homemade natural and organic hair stylists who are also hair nourishers are rather scarce.
Furthermore hair salons were designed to take women out of there home...
I've literally been lurking around your page every week for ages. I was just looking for an upload of yours to watch and I stumbled across this title 😭😭😭😭 oh no. Lemme watch
So you ruined your hair with heat damage…not the TR...
It’s sad so many of our people see our natural textures and curl patterns as problematic and in need of alteration.
Yea I don't get what she's saying....it sounds like she put chemical on her already damaged hair ...
@@iamabee4452 the chemical being the texture release.
Where in Los Angeles is your stylist? I have been looking for one in the area.
Same!
Head damage or a TR? ...your title is misleading either way I hope your hair recovers...heat damage I feel like needs lots of hot oil treatments back to back but that's just for me I'm no expert. Got a TR yesterday ill see how it is I aim to just put heat once a month cause I got the 7 passes so I can wash and go
If you had payed attention you’d realize that both the heat damage and the bad texture release job damaged her hair.
Afro hairnisnt unmanageable you're just lazy
Same happened to be and im triming regularly now every 3 months and i went for the top dog and she still ruined my hair the director of the hair salon and i had mine done ONE time last year September and it still looks wierd my new growth is coming in and i trim it mayb i need to wash it more because these days i braid it with extentions because i dont like how it looks lol and my hair is short with the trims.
I have locs now but I still like my hair the best straight. The thing with relaxers or any other chemical used on the hair is it only takes once to ruin it completely. It is just too stressful.
Rollers are best
Maybe she was having fun. Did she say she was hiding it or did you ASSUME?
@@cfoster6804 Have you watched her other videos where she is constantly negging her true natural texture?
Thanks for this comment. I will keep putting curlers in my hair lol
EXACTLY! like you don’t like your hair as much as you want others to believe and that’s okay if you did you wouldn’t straighten it in the first place
Not really. If it was naturally looser it wouldn't have been damaged or hard to manage. But also kinky hair isn't hard to manage
@@OlulasantiI straighten my hair twice a year to trim it. That doesn't mean I hate it. You're definitely a man
Im am so upset I did a texture release - my regrowth is growing dread like or should I say its really tough to comb - where as my hair before used to be so easy to detangle with just my fingers - now getting a wide tooth comb through it is pain
I have broken hair in the same area. I have also used a texture release once on virgin hair. I think it may have something to do with it.
Your natural hair is beautiful
Thank you ☺️
I had that crown breakage as well and it also came with a lot of inflammation in that area - I went to see a dermatologist as I suspected it was CCCA.
And I also have a patch of short hair in the back, and I had not had braids. It was probablt secondary to severe damage
Girl! I’ve been wondering where you were! So sorry this is happening ugh, it’s a part of the journey though :/

Thanks so much for the advice! :)
Enitan products did nothing for my hair.
That’s fine different hair types different things I feel like our hair is trial and error
I'll just deal with my presses sweating out after two days lol 😄
I would suggest using a treatment system like olaplex or maybe the k18. I haven't used the latter but I'm planning to after six weeks of olaplex.
Seems your bad experience was your fault. Too much heat and no heat protection.
I was told those faux locks suffocate your hair so that’s probably what happened. I was told they lead to a lot of breakage
This is me right now. My hair is damaged so bad
I'm so sorry! The same thing happened to me when I did a hyaluronic acid treatment which also texture released my hair. I really hate it
My hair is completely damaged as well. Was beautiful at first but my hair just broke off in clumps.
Perfect timing, I’m getting my TR this Saturday xx
I thought the same when mine ‘wore off’ 😮 it definitely feels permanent
that doesn't even scientifically make sense. hair grows by cells multiplying in the follicle. there is no way that a texture release could effect that.
@@hereforit2347 Thanks for this information. It's appreciated. Please do alert others who are unaware that this texture release is a mild-relaxer.
@@mariepearl-harbour2335: No, no 😂 . . . I didn’t say that. A “texturizer” and “tex-lax” are relaxers, not a “texture release”. According to Google:
“What is a texture release? A texture release is a heat-activated straightening system that uses a combination of amino acids and glyoxylic acid to temporarily loosen curly and coily hair. It's a treatment that has to be done in-salon by a professional.Oct 26, 2022”
@@hereforit2347 Yeah I saw that definition also. However, I do question this product???
You might be thinking of texturizer, a texture release uses amino acids to straighten hair.

God Bless You 🙏🏽
