    Good job my dude but you should’ve taken a few extra minutes to test the trigger coil and the stator separately before just replacing both. A no spark condition can be caused by a bad trigger coil or bad stator exciter/source coil which is the covered coil on an AC stator that powers an AC CDI directly. Even though they are in close proximity to each other and wires run together they are two discreet components.
    Also, No need to cut, splice and solder... Sometimes replacement electrical components like the stator, regulator, rectifier, etc. may have the wrong connector, pins in the wrong order, male/female connector reversed, or no connector at all. The majority of the plastic connectors on these scoots have removable pins. Look at the face of the connector, there’s a small notch below each pin. Stick a precision flathead screw driver in to push the retaining tab down and the pin should slide right out the back of the connector. Most of the male and female pins will be either 2.8mm or 6.3mm get a set of both off Amazon for cheap plus the correct crimper to make your own pins/connectors and you’ll be good money. The larger kits come with all the most commonly used 1 thru 9 pin male/female connectors for small engine vehicles. One of the water proof connector kits I ordered even came with the crimper and the pin removal tool.

      @@IFixShet it is definitely the stator? My bike has a steelmate alarm fitted and the guy I brought it off said the alarm is draining the battery? So could it be the stator 100%?

    • @IFixShet
      @IFixShet  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@2strokecherry You said that it instantly kills the battery. So the way this works is when a stateor fails It will use the rest of the power the battery has to create spark to keep the scooter running but when it can't then it's completely dead until you recharge it. So it's just a little 12v battery in there it won't take long to kill the battery if it doesn't have A way to charge while driving. The alarm should not affect the scooter unless it is left there for like a month armed without running. Now I don't know how old the battery is but if you haven't replaced it recently then I would replace the battery first and see what happens Because it might just be a bad battery. Scooter batteries are about $20 on ebay Pretty cheap

    I have a 2003 yerf dog rover 8400 with gy6 engine and a dc cdi.
    When I turn the key. I get one single spark. I can't remember if this happens when turing the key to ignition on or when cranking.
    I eventually gave up on it and put in an ac stator, dci, rectifier and it runs.
    The ignition system i put in it was for a gokart or something and the wiring harness is incorrect and short and would like to switch back to the dc system .
    It has a mikuni carb
    That I have cleaned extensively a couple of times.
    The engine has no power or speed.
    The idle speed used to slowly increase the lower it was running. I would need to decrease the idle speed to shift from R N F.
    Will adjusting the idle air mixture screw affect top speed and power?
    My second thought is the diaphragm and needle that is attached to it.
    I did not see any holes in the diaphragm.
    I dont recall if the needle is adjustable.
    Any ideas would be helpful.
    There was one suggestion that a missing ground was the cause for one spark

    I have a question about your work there, does the scooter have a CDI controller on your scooter and so far I can’t find one anywhere without taking all the body components off to see if it’s somewhere inside the front covers, with that said I have the small manual that came with the scooter and the parts list in it has a line through the space listed for the CDI do you know if some of them came without a CDI and it has I think regulator/resistor that might regulate the spark it has 5 pole plug and some of the things don’t add up with the scooter it’s 2006 or 07 Schwinn Sport LH 150cc and I can’t find out much about it but I will hopefully figure it out thanks!

Or I just have not found where it is this scooter is different than most I have seen the wires out of the stator are all plugged together in a harness that goes down the frame towards the front some where that’s the part I’m unsure about and the battery sets in a small box in front of your knee unless it’s under the battery box that I can’t see until I get the rest of the plastic off and the fuel tank is under the foot pad and not beside the tank because I can see the tank and fuel gauge wire plugged into the tank and nothing beside it so it could only be in the front side somewhere?

    • @rogeradkins1785
      @rogeradkins1785 8 месяцев назад

      From all I’m learning on RUclips it’s got to have a CDI to trigger the spark to the coil to fire it and I just have not found it so far on the scooter but I’m going to remove the body shell and see if I can find it because the stator is plugged into the harness going to the front and my best guess is it is somewhere between the plugs and the front of the bike so I will let you know if I find in there towards the front end and sometime this coming week I’m going to remove the stator and test it to make sure it’s on the money or possibly bad , but I don’t know anything about this bike and the man that had it passed away a few years ago and his daughter gave it to me last week so I have more work to get it running and thanks for your help my friend!!!

    My 2013 TaoTao moped still runs but the tackometer jumps all over the place often times going past wherever the numbers stop and they stop and 10 but it is going to where 15 could have been on the tack I was told it sounds like a stator issue. So I ordered a new stator and rectifyer and now my issue is getting the old stator out I think I am going to need to order a crank puller on Amazon. It has reached a point where I can ride about a mile and then it will stall. Does my original issue sound like it will be fixed by this operation?
