It's like watching a foamy RC plane go straight up, half a century of turbine development has made this possible - 44,000 HP dumped into enormous composite props. The crazy thing is we can still go up from here, GEnx attached to that A400M would turn it into a spaceship with likely real vertical acceleration.
During the Viet Nam war, even passenger jets landing in Tan Son Nhut, Saigon, would make a very steep descent, and take off at an angle like this, to avoid getting shot down.
No, I'd almost guarantee that was because AIrbus paid handsomely to male sure it was featured there, or at very least was the one who offered the use of their plane gratis, to help drum up sales.
Someone does something cool. Leave it up to the comment section to discredit it in every way. Its not that anyone in here did anything better or cooler.
The old Boeing was a great engineering company, then mcdonnald douglas bought Boeing with Boeing's money ,Boeing went from a great engineering company to a sales organization , then the failures started to show ,the poor design the cheap manufacturing ,the corner cutting
the C17 crashed was: ruclips.net/video/jrngajyaPx4/видео.html Was caused from heawy pilot errors: too low speed, too long bank= side slip, stall...Such big aircraft cannot hold such bank angle because too much G force ans loss of speed...
I very much doubt it, although that depends a great deal on how you define "maneuverable" and at what speed and what altitude you are measuring it. An Avro Vulcan can supposedly out-turn an F-4 Phantom at 50,000ft, but not at 10,000;
guess you have to look up the C-160 which is a closer comparison to the C17 on a full fuel load the A400M has about tripple the range of the C17, so sure fully loaded it's heavier

The most powerfull turboprops are the Kouznetsov NK12 15000hp (Antonov AN22 and Tupolev Tu95) and the Ivchenko Progress D27, 14000hp (Antonov AN70). The Europrop TP400 10690hp is only the powerfullest turboprop from the european/american industry...
+Mr.Clem Sadly, we don't see these often around here. But I've seen a couple fly over fairly high. Quiet isn't a word I'd have used to describe them, but they do have a really cool and unique sound.
nope: the last military cargo plane who take such demo manouver is crashed, all killed (C17), the only who is capabble to make such manouver is the Antono AN70... ruclips.net/video/jrngajyaPx4/видео.html
Obviously not useless. You could argue that the money could have been spent more wisely. You could argue that doesn't need a plane with this exact set of characteristics, or for this price, but that doesn't make the plane "useless". That means (blank) air military doesn't have a need for this plane right now, not that the plane is "useless". It is clearly a useful aircraft to the right user. A useless aircraft is one that cannot fly, or carry cargo, or passengers, or fight, or bomb, or even fly recon flights. It's hard to even argue that a Cessna is "useless" in spite of being mostly meant for rich people to putt around the sky in for fun. If a Cessna isn't useless. it's impossible that a plane like this is.

One of my favourite aircraft - and this definitely is one of the reasons why! Amazing video, brilliantly shot. :)
Cheers 👍
I was there and I loved it. I watch the video now and I love it. What a beautiful machine!
Great watching that big lump climb so steep and effortlessly like that. The power to weight is immense!
Footage of an airplane in the sky. The video that defined a generation
Your video is starting to get quite some attention on reddit mate :D hopefully you can reap the rewards of it and reach a wider audience!
A photon gets on a plane and the stewardess asks him if he has any luggage...
He says: "No, I'm traveling light.".
Brilliant!..
1st what!
2nd the moment you get it !
3rd the moment you truly get it !
"Ladies and Gentlemen, that was Tony Music!! He'll be here all week!! 3 drink minimum!!"
Good one!!
Until it it gets to a diffraction grating
Physics, reality, not interested! This thing is just the best thing ever. Love you A400, sooooooooo much.
That looks like fun!
James Purcell definitely on my bucket list to fly on that plane, busting that sweet ass take-off move! :-D
That is just insane.

Wish you'd nip back to laos and clean up the tons of Unexploded ordnance left behind, millions of tons
Probably why the A400M was the plane of choice in the opening scene of the last Mission Impossible movie.
No, I'd almost guarantee that was because AIrbus paid handsomely to male sure it was featured there, or at very least was the one who offered the use of their plane gratis, to help drum up sales.

Super video! You're great! Thanks! 100% Like!
Thank you
That's incredible
I hate these stupid clickbait thumbna..................oh shit, nevermind. Wow.
Very cool this plane and take off amazing!
Gorgeous plane!👍
The 400 has grown on me over the years
Just wow!!! What an ascent 👌
Always impressive seeing this big aircraft take off in this fashion
Wow, just wow
Spectacular takeoff
Now that is cool. That thing has 498 propeller blades on it, I counted them.
only 32.
That's what I got too!
Mark Ifi you took all the fun out of that.
498 & 1
miscellaneousone You are right. I double counted and I apparently missed one.

both are still used, i thought?

Whoah! Love it!❤️
Love the A400 airshow takeoff.
Caught the A400 in the mach loop this week, video will be up soon
Very fantastic 😎👍
Always enjoy seeing the A400 airshow take off
@@bobsurgranny ooo that is absolutely awesome 😎✌
Damn I wanted to see one of these take off after finding out that Tom Cruise hung off the side of one for a movie 😮
@Bobsurgranny Do i have the permission to post this video on my facebook page? assure you your work will be credited?
No I'd rather you didn't, thanks for asking =)
I didn't get you sir
0:32 - that is just mad! No wonder the voice on the soundtrack says "Oh, fuck it!" Nothing that big should be able to take off like that.
LA PUISSANCE 🤯
Magnificent watching this big lump leap into the air in this manner.
Power to weight really shows at airshows
@bobsurgranny Yes !!! This huge massive airplaine "jump" in the sky with is
4X11000 ch motor is impressive 🫡
Reminds me of a globemaster c-17 falling off from the sky in Afghanistan at Bagram from the same take off stunt that burst into flames.
Same here
Oh. I stand corrected. It was a 747, actually, not a c-17 globemaster,
That was from cargo not being tied down properly, and it all fell to the rear of the 747.
the C17 crashed was: ruclips.net/video/jrngajyaPx4/видео.html Was caused from heawy pilot errors: too low speed, too long bank= side slip, stall...Such big aircraft cannot hold such bank angle because too much G force ans loss of speed...
that thing is more manueverable than the zero i think?
I very much doubt it, although that depends a great deal on how you define "maneuverable" and at what speed and what altitude you are measuring it. An Avro Vulcan can supposedly out-turn an F-4 Phantom at 50,000ft, but not at 10,000;
Wow! And i thought U2's had a steep take off angle.
Too cool!
Before we go hootin' and hollerin' let's see it take off with a full cargo load.
Generally in a war zone it will have dropped off it's cargo and will be leaving a hot zone empty or with personnel only
Big fast boi
The way it left the deck here was immense 😎
Damn IF i was in That plane and IT turned like that, id shit myself the First second. Im such a coward..
RKZ Yno
Glad it's not just me!
Amazing! No JATO bottles needed on this!
Damn if jato attached it'll turn into VTO
TANKS INSIDE SLIDING AROUND...
Except that it could never climb that steeply with any actual CARGO inside of it. Just when empty and with minimal fuel load.
super !!!!!
Like fun
Cool
vbgggvvccc😍🙌
It’s called a tactical takeoff
imagine if you need to go to the toilet during this takeoff
Wahnsinn!!!!!
Great watching that huge lump climb so steeply like that!
@@bobsurgranny I agree with you. Must be breathtaking live.
A400: Look at me, I’m so light and maneuverable...
C17: That’s awesome! Now do that carrying some weight...
guess you have to look up the C-160 which is a closer comparison to the C17

Fabrication Française :)
l'A400M est assemblé en Espagne...
leneanderthalien la pointe avant est fabriqué en France ;)
Thrust dou
Practically zero cargo takeoff weight, 2 pilots and very light fuel load will allow this...
if you have enough thrust. this is possible with any thing.
Yes, but also the most powerful turboprops ever made.

At about 18,000ft they howl, sounds awesome
bowser515 Is it even in production already?!
The A-400m? Yeah, we've had them a few years now.
Anything but sporting 😆
I would have shit if I was in that thing I don't like the thought of being on a very large stalling aircraft .
What the bollocks
Light on fuel, and no cargo. It better be able to do that.
Jay Trock No American or Russia cargo plane can do that.

You are a moron for comparing that crash with this.
What a beautiful but useless machine.
Gabriel Concha, useless?? Get some info plz
its not useless, but it is of very little use. Compared to almost any other use of resources, this is probably at the most inefficient.
ridiculous: the french army use it far the most intensive of all users, main to Africa and it is very efficient...
I cannot imagine a plane of this prowess with those specs being anywhere NEAR useless. I don't get it.
