      Im actually a big kramnik hater, but in this case, people are being so dumb? What wouldve people said if hans had a whole set up prepared to be able to copy a game into an engine DURING a game? This is by definition cheating. And ofc danya can defend himself saying it is for educational purposes but we have no way of knowing whether he uses it on competitive games or not. We have the right to say he should not have this kind of set up and him having it is 'weird', if not more.
      Now I wont defend some of kramnik's arguments which are stupid as always. But im just surprised at how much people dont care about the fact that danya basically cheated in a game and admitted it live (which was on purpose according to him, but how can we know for sure? )
      People have to let go off their biases "danya is a good guy or a class act". It doenst matter, when it comes to cheating, we should set up clear boundaries, meaning rules that by definition should apply to everyone regardless of who they are or what their reputation is
      And btw, personnally I dont think danya is a cheater.

    • @milesreynolds4943
      @milesreynolds4943 2 месяца назад +5

      @@kurokjo9107 This isn't an example of cheating though.
      First, there is an important distinction between any competition; paid or unpaid, and free play.
      Secondly, This is for educational purposes instead of "farming".
      Thirdly, The engine wasn't open alongside game play. The moves up until this point were genuine I.e not all main line/book/engine moves.
      Finally, the game annotation was copied across to an engine once a winning/resignable position had been established
      However, should this have been done after the match ended. Of course. Was it nefarious though I don't believe so. He thought the opponent would resign. Because he films his content live its important to be able to go straight from the game to the analysis because its meant to both be educational and a speedrun. I feel he was just trying to be quick and 99/100 the opponents at that level also knowing who they are playing against do historically resign. He was unlucky all be it a little stupid too...
      He should definitely have done this after the game and I think there is an argument to be made that all speedruns should be completed on alt accounts with elo reimbursement

      @kurokjo9107 2 месяца назад

      @@ghostwitch644 bro i dont care about tilted tuesdays, its besides the point. Why does danya have a set up that allows him to cheat? Does it make it okay if he only uses it in games that are not important? Should we trust him to use it only if its educational?

    • @linconmende
      @linconmende 2 месяца назад +4

      @@kurokjo9107 To be clear, he wasn't copying the game to the engine, he opened a smurf account to follow the game in the live mode, and then checked the opening part, where the engine was suggesting moves about that opening.. also, he was not looking during the game, only after his opponent was stalling after his blunders and not resigning. Sure, it was wrong, he admitted, Hikaru also admitted, but it is not as bad as you pointed out. Plus, in competitive games, players have to film their settings during games, so the second monitor with an engine would be caught.

      Idk about all that. He's definitely top 10 of all time and revolutionized chess in the 2000s, particularly with the Ruy Lopez. While he has taken a sad path recently, I don't see the point of undermining his objective significance historically.

    • @axel_r_
      @axel_r_ 2 месяца назад +7

      @@steve83669 Let me give you the point, since you cannot see it.
      Kramnik is 💩 That is not undermining, but perhaps even an overstatement.
      When he became WC it was when Kasparov was at his weakest and the chess community was on a "stand off" and boring.
      Before Kasparov, we had other legendary players like Karpov, Fischer, Spassky, Petrosian, Tal. Since Kramnik we got Anand who made chess interesting again, until Carlsen came and made chess what it is today.
      Kramnik is what Ding is today. All respect to Ding, but everyone knows Ding is not a real WC. This does not sound good, but with all due respect: Ding is a placeholder. WC has lost its meaning atm. Ding's achievement might be the first WC to perhaps drop out of the 2700+ club. He is 29 points from falling under 2700 at the time of writing this.
      Sorry, but not sorry. This is not about undermining Kramnik. It is stating the obvious about the chessplayer Kramnik.

    • @sansthedrummer
      @sansthedrummer 2 месяца назад +5

      @axel_r_ it's not out of pocket to say that Ding is a placeholder (but still a hell of a player). We all know that he only won cause Carlsen didn't compete.
      As for Kramnik, I also find it rich that he keeps calling cheating since he had his own controversy by having a few too many bathroom breaks in a tournament.

He is young (only 26) that's why I didn't guess him first but he fits the bill. Also bcz others in Gashimov 2024 were Nepo who was included already, Mamedyrov,Nodirbek who are 2700 players & we would have known the name if they said it , Mamedov, Suleymnali are another Azarbaijan player but in 2600 & all Azerbaijani players are chill, last one was Aravindh and he was close to 2700 but still not 2700 and also that was his first tournament on invite so he is too young & also Indians too don't get involved in controversy.@@BongelaMnguni

    Kramnik's modus operandi is that he finds himself new victims to harass by threatening to tediously harm their reputation and expects it to be normalized that the eventual cleaning up of the messes he made for those people will be left to them and the communities supporting them, which then has to be done by publically defending against his claim and in result talking about him, fulfilling his desire for attention and renewed relevance.
