- The Beatles were way ahead of their time. Songs like “Because” “Oh Darling” “Maxwells Silver Hammer” really stood out for me. I still can’t believe after all these years The Beatles made “Here Comes the Sun” it’s such an iconic song. Hope you guys enjoyed the video. I have no idea what’s next but he sure to leave a comment if you have any suggestions. Like and subscribe if you enjoyed.

What’s your favorite Beatles album ?
When I was growing up it was Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. That album always brings a smile to my face. Lately, I have been on a Revolver kick, but I think Abbey Road is coming up on the outside! If you catch me on a certain day, it could very well be Rubber Soul, which is another John dominated album with some amazing lyrics by Lennon.
My two favorite Beatle albums are their very first ("Please Please Me") and their very last ("Abbey Road"). Or maybe "A Hard Day's Night." I really can't decide.
Gun to my head I'm going to always pick Abbey Road, but honestly any of them Rubber Soul or later are my favorite albums. They're all my favorite.

It used to be Yellow Submarine, when I was obsessed with the Beatles as a teenager in the early 2000s, followed by Sgt. Pepper's.
But I think, now Abbey Road beats it. I just really love the songs on this one, and how they fit together to form a greater whole.
Fun Fact - Oh! Darling was written by Paul, followed by Octopus's Garden which was written by Ringo, followed by I Want You which was written by John, followed by Here Comes the Sun written by George. The only time in their career this kind of thing happened.
I knew that all 4 beatles had at least 1 song on this album, but I did not know that. That is really cool though
I love how accurately each song represents them. Paul: romantic, John: heavy and cynical sounding, George: whimsical and hoping for the best, Ringo: having a good time and enjoying the music
that is interesting. kind of the opposite of "hard days night" where all 13 songs were written by lennon/mccartney. that's the only time that happened too.

@@platinummouse60 ... i don't think i ever noticed that before. it wasn't long before mccartney was as prolific a songwriter as john. as beatles i always credited lennon with writing better rockers and mccartney writing better ballads. but in their solo careers it became the opposite. lennon seemed to lose interest in writing r&r songs while mccartney really rocked out. most mccartney solo ballads i can't stand while lennon's ballads were just beautiful and even haunting. but in actuality both of them, as beatles, wrote real good rockers and ballads.
never a big a ballad fan. with a few exceptions beatles' ballads are about the only ballads i like on a consistent basis. i just love talking about the beatles. i never tire of it. in 10 short years they created a varied history, musical catalogue and a mystique that will never be equaled in music history.

Because is actually Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata played backwards! John Lennon asked his wife, who was a classical pianist, to play it that way and he came up with the lyrics.

I once thought I knew everything there was to know about the Beatles. I even wrote an enormous research paper about them as my project in HS junior English. Basically I went against instructions and discussed, and "analyzed" to some amateurish extent,, all of their studio albums as a sort of chronogy of their career. This I exactly the kind of thing I tried to include, but if I had that one I lost it!
It's funny how most people overlook "Because", but what a great song!

5 of their albums are considered classic masterpieces and some of the greatest albums of all time. Between Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Peppers, The White Album and Abbey Road. And all of their other albums are considered fantastic albums too.
Because it is. Abbey Road and Sgt Pepper are tied I think. Nobody has ever topped The Beatles.

You're the one reactor who gives himself the full pleasure of listening to entire albums. You have blessed yourself with an experience tens, hundreds of millions of fans gave themselves in years before. Congrats - it seems like a small thing to most of us Beatles fans but, seeing so many others cherry-pick a song here or there, I can't help but applaud your willingness.
Uh... the lyrics were often on the liner-notes inside album covers, or on the back. And when they weren't (like ABBEY ROAD), this is why we 'studied' the albums over and over.

I agree with you about 'Because'. It's an oustandingly beautiful well constructed song with amazing harmonies.
I love Maxwell's Silver Hammer just because it feels like someone dared Paul to make a song about a mass murderer that sounds like the intro to a children's cartoon. And he nailed it....so to speak. :)
Some people literally only dislike it because John disliked it. It’s actually really fun to play and sing, I’m sure recording it wasn’t as fun LOL.

I love Maxwell's silver hammer , such a jaunty melody with a dark side yet it makes you laugh.
Your joy singing along with Here Comes The Sun is why the Beatles impacted us all so much.
Those songs were the "medley" that you read about at the beginning of the reaction. Also, in case you didn't realize it, on the song The End, Ringo had his only drum solo ever on an album. Plus, that prolonged guitar is all three, John, George and Paul trading off guitar riffs!

This was the last album they made as a group… “And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love… you make.” That’s how they went out. It was a contentious split so that ending gives me chills then makes me cry. Every time (and I wasn’t even alive at the time.) 💙 BTW, I hope you’re well!
Great observation from someone who was born AFTER the Beatles broke up. BUT, on the bright side, U just made my ( and other Boomers ) day, reminding us that each generation is a continuum of those that come before -- and come after.

It was great being able to grow up with this kind of music as a kid when it was brand new. Beatlemania was literally an addiction and I always craved the next fix.

Half the 2nd side was the medley. A collection of partial songs strung together into one. They were the first band to do that.

It’s the last album they worked together as The Beatles and ‘The End’ was the perfect way to end their careers, specially with that final sentence. And those transitions were obviously on purpose, it was a medley!

I love the immediate contrast in Paul’s voice from “Maxwell” to “Oh Darling,” and yes, “Because” is an underrated song, but it’s also one of my absolute favorites. Glad you enjoyed the album!
Don't really have a favorite; they're all great. Jony, I LOVE how you appreciate The Beatles; you notice how their main message is LOVE. Abbey Road came out in '69 btw. I would recommend you listen to George Harrison's album "All Things Must Pass." It's absolutely beautiful. It could have been "The Parent Trap" where you heard "Here Comes the Sun."

Last album, Ringo 29, John 29, Paul 27 and George 26 and the end of their Beatles career. What have the rest of done in eight years before our 30's? "Her Majesty" is the same "Her Majesty" 52 years later!
George Harrison's guitar work on this album is a revelation. It's so perfect. John said that the song Something is the best song on the entire album! It was the only time George had the A side of the 45 RPM single and John's Come Together was the B side.
Slight correction: it was a double A sided single, so both were the A Side, George’s first!
I can’t think of one Beatles’ era George song that isn’t “Perfect “.
Everybody shined so brightly in this Album. George with the guitar. Paul with the bass and Ringo with the drum. Unbelievable.

"Something " was written for his wife Pattie B. who later became Mrs. Eric Claton, which wrote a few songs about her. "You look Wonderful Tonight ",Layla ,Bulebottom jeans" and a few more. I think George wrote a few more about her also.
Her Majesty means Her Majesty: the Queen. Perfect little joke song to end with (after the end). The Beatles were always jokesters.

When this album came out me and my friends were probbably got the biggest kick out of Maxwell's Silver Hammer, the goofiest song on the album along with Octopus Garden. Oh Darlin' is oneof my all-time Beatles faves. Maybe my fave Beatles album.

Great reaction young man. I heard you say seventies vibe, it's 1969 when this album was recorded and there last as a band, quite the way to go out. In 1970 Frank Sinatra declared that Something was the most beautiful love song written in the last 50 years, when big Frank speaks, you listen. Octopus's Garden is one of those rare occasions where we get to hear John, Paul and George harmonizing together in their career, listen again, it's wonderful and a catchy tune with great little guitar solo by George. George's Here Comes The Sun is absolutely beautiful, this song always makes me feel it's good to be alive. I feel bad for anyone that gets nothing from this song, they're emotionally dead. Because is again all three singing, it's beautiful. I loved your face on this one, it was like a stone, I couldn't read you. Sun King all three again, three songs on one Lp, wow ! The language at the end is Lennon's brilliance, it's a combination of what Is.called cod - Spanish, Italian, some Portuguese nonsense and with the odd English phrase thrown in. The medley is crazy and then on Carry That Weight how they went back to You Never Give Me Your Money, it's brilliant. We hear Ringo's little drum solo , the only one as a Beatle and finally The End, what a beautiful little thought to leave the world 🌎 🌍 to finish their career. Side two of this album started with Here Comes The Sun 😎 and thru the rest easily makes this the greatest side two in history. Maybe the greatest side of any side in history. Take care you man.☮️
Hey Jony! Haven't seen your vids in a while. This popped up and so glad you are doing the whole album here mainly because of its famous Side 2 medley you read about, those transitions. You know it now! 😁 And just so you know, Side 2 starts with Here Comes The Sun as it is on the original LP released in 1969. Back in the day, occasionally a radio DJ would put on Side 2 to play the whole thing uninterrupted while he and a few others would take an extra long cigarette break, if you know what I mean! 😁 Abbey Road is considered an excellent album, like all of theirs really. What makes this one so special is it's the last album they produced mostly together while as The Beatles. They broke up shortly after, and although the 'Let It Be' album was the last album released and after Abbey Road, AR was their last awesome jam session together. It's pretty cool you recognized Here Comes The Sun. Seen other reactors say the same that they heard it a movie or TV show, not sure which one but many say The Bee movie. “Because” is so SO lovely!!!! “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer” is the happiest murder song ever! It’s meant to be cheeky, some people think it’s in “poor taste” but it’s harmless and just makes me laugh 🤷🏻♀️ I absolutely ADORE the entire side 2 of Abbey Road, which begins with “Here Comes the Sun”, I can’t even pick a favorite song.
“Because” is indeed a beautiful song. The Beatles have so many, it’s easy for some of them to be forgotten or slip into obscurity.
I agree with you about “Within You Without You” which is amazing. You should check out some of the cover versions of it, especially one recorded by singer Patti Smith on her album “twelve”. It is a gorgeous cover of a gorgeous song.

So many hallmarks of 1970s music (soft rock love ballad, 1950s music revival, drum solos, guitar solos, synthesizer use, multi-song suites, etc.) are present on “Abbey Road”.
Well interesting, seems like you've listened to the 2019 mixes, which are much better than the 2009 remasters, even though it has less views than the older ones (yt comes with them first when you search for the title). That may explain why the few views. But yeah 'Because' is certainly the most underrated track on the album. Great reaction ;)

The songs in the medley on side 2 were all fragments of different things they were working on so they just strung them together. It's so refreshing to see this music still has IMPACT on new listeners. It was great to have been around when this stuff was new.
I really enjoy hearing people's thoughts on this album. There's something on there for everyone and it touches everyone in a different way.
Abbey Road is my second all-time fave Fab album.....right under Revolver. A very strong first side.....yes, Ringo's Octopus' Garden is adorable......and the side two medley is still mind-blowing. There really isn't a weak spot.

I think I can say you experience the Beatles as they should be heard than most youtubers because you sat there listening to the whole album in one sitting as intended. Unlike most who choose songs in any order.
The medley starts with you never give me your money finished with the end it all played like a rock opera on the abbey road album
I like your review, very genuine. The medley on side two is meant to be listened to as one overarching song. The transitions between the songs were cut to carry into the next, and when you breakdown the structure you can tell they build an upward tempo into the next song. I like to think there are two distinct medley on side two. #1 Sun King - She Came in Through The Bathroom Window, and #2 Golden Slumber - The End ( this one is even more of a fusion that makes it one overall song). Interestingly, in a way to connect the songs, Carry That Weight shares the same middle section as You Never Give me Your Money. The song you really liked, Because, has John, Paul, and George tripled tracked on the vocals to produce the effect of nine voices. I enjoyed your review 👍

Abbey Road: Jazzy, Bluesy, Funky, Brilliant, Majestic, tragically Beautiful. And, oh, those harmonies, George Harrison's fluid, elegant guitar solos, Ringo's funkified rock-steady rock: What a way to say Farewell -- and become a band and social statement For the Ages.
And opening the door to 50 years of mind bending musical exploration!
No mention of Paul's amazing bass lines, especially on Come Together and Something? He took those songs to another level.

This is the best album I've ever heard. Straight up.
The songs that are all together is called a medley. That is the famous "Beatles Medley. Songs were usually separated by a few seconds on vinyl so having a medley was not the normal. This album was huge when it came out. I loved your reaction throughout and after "Because". Your reaction was priceless. Lol.
Hey I know that you haven’t posted in a while, but the band Phideaux (pronounced Fido) is a band very much like Pink Floyd and the album “Infernal” is a double concept album about the biblical end of the world and they touch on a lot of topics that Pink Floyd did and more, and their instrumentals and lyrics are incredible also if you do want to do more albums by them Infernal is 1-3 of an album trilogy about the end of the world and all of them in order are The Great Leep, Doomsday Afternoon, and finally with a killer end is Infernal which I recommend you star with Infernal and work your way backwards, but I thought you would love them because of your reaction to Pink Floyd. Great review, of one of the most iconic albums of all time. Abbey Road...is...a masterpiece. It is simply joyous and fantastic, that the younger generation recognize and respect just how great The Beatles were. It truly is mind boggling...how many today, have, yes...heard of The Beatles...but do not really KNOW their catolog very well. Good on you for listening to the whole thing. By the way...this was the last recordings...The Bearles did together...as The Beatles. What a fitting way for "The End' to be the last track. (And yes...I know, 'Her Majesty', was the last 'sounds' on the album), but that was just a Beatles quirk. The story is Paul said not to add it, and the engineer did anyway. So who knows. The point is...The Beatles had beautiful harmonies, melodies, lyrics...etc. And their catolog was so innovative, it influenced nearly ALL genres of what we hear today.

The word “heavy” in 60’s Hippie terminology means serious; intense..
Since I haven't seen anybody comment this yet, Her Majesty was supposed to be between Mean Mr. Mustard and Polythene Pam, but Paul thought it didn't fit, so he said to scrap it. But the guy he told to scrap it was told to never get rid of anything, so he decided to put it at the end, which Paul thought was good, so he kept it.
This is my favorite. It edges out th white album and Revolver.
Because is also one of my favorite Beatlea songs. "Love is old love is new. Love is all love is you". It makes me go aaawwww too.
Also, you have to hand it to Ringo. Octopus's Garden is a cool ass song and that guitar solo is one of George's best..

I live this album. Been listening to it for 40 years now. The “medley” on the second half was quite radical for its time. I think Golden Slumbers is a gorgeous song.
Also, a lot people would listen to these Beatles records while smoking pot which explains some of the psychedelia and strange lyrics. But you don’t need to be high to enjoy them.

This lp doesn't get old! Got it over 30 yrs ago & still love it. Right off the bat, you have "Come Together." That was covered by both Michael Jackson & Aerosmith. But original still the best. "Something" is beautiful, etc. Not a bad song on it. But highlight is side 2 with all the songs merging together. Just brilliant!
Abbey Road was last album recorded by The Beatles, but Let It Be, which was recorded before Abbey Road, was released after it due to movie production delays. Paul, George and Ringo did get together for one day, a few months after Abbey Road completed, in order to do some last minute work on George's Let It Be song, I Me Mine. The last song all four worked on together was The End.

i haven't seen a comment explaining this yet, so I'll jump in!! the song Her Majesty that was at the very end of the album and only 20 something seconds long was originally intended to go in between Mean Mr Mustard and Polythene Pam in the medley!! (if you look up the originally intended medley on youtube, you can see how well it flows) they took it out last minute and stuck it right on the end. the only thing i dont know is why lol, but i LOVE listening to it in its original state, because The End has a bigger impact in my opinion. absolutely loooove this album 🫶

They went up on top of Abbey Road Studios and did this live just for the passers-by, then he drew a large crowd.

The second side is comprised of a medley. The songs are short and lead into one another because they were songs that were never actually finished.
The Beatles had fragments, bits and snippets of ideas and threw them all together into a side-long compilation of tracks.
It's a very old idea, but they did it better than pretty much anyone else ever has.
This isn't exactly an album recommendation, but I was thinking that you should check out The Beatles' most popular song, "Hey Jude". Absolute anthem of a song, no Beatles reaction series is complete without it.

They'd always give Ringo the cute songs. After they broke up, Ringo hosted a children's show for awhile. He was always "The nice one." "Because" is beautiful with it's harmonies. The adv. Choir choir at SCPA with school band did the whole LP when she was a senior in HS. I loved the Choir singing this song & you could really hear her on the Sopranos high notes.
