well done for explaining everything plain and simple. no need for fancy marble or coloured thread wraps etc.
It’s all about performance
🙌🏾 these are easily the best spj rods i have ever fished! When i foind out they were available in blanks i was all over it! Cant wait to see what JYG Pro has in store next
Perhaps k guides that are made of carbon fiber or titanium with Torzite rod guide inserts to save weight to the SPJ rod's weight?
@@andrewrollins4898 we use Titanium guides to save weight and keep the rod balanced
@@jygprofishing The torzite guide inserts are twice as strong as the sic. They also don't pit causing line issues as sic guide inserts do. The benefits of torzite line guide inserts are worth the extra costs in my opinion.
@@andrewrollins4898 100% agreed!
I have a tribute I really love it. Acid wrapped by me. I build everything acid.
@@henryisherwood2745 it’s a great way as well! Acid wrap has its advantages for sure. What power Tribute do you have?
Great video! I've always wanted to know how these slow pitch rods were built.
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy it, let us know if you have any questions
There's nothing like a spiral wrapped SPJ rod. I don't care how hard one tries not to get a rod tip line wrapped; the wind always seems to find a way to do it.
Spiral wrapped rods definitely get less tip wrapped!
@@jygprofishing it's the only thing that kept me from ordering the tribute
@@southpaw8040 we can make you one spiral wrapped if you want to
Sick rod. Any chance of y’all building a SPJ Rod for bigger tuna on head boats?? Most are shorter speed jigging rods
We are working on it at the moment, I believe we will have something out by the beginning of 2025. Do you fish in CA?
I'm in So Cal and fish the whole lineup 0-10 and have not had any issues with the lengths hands down my favorite spj rod!
Where can we get one of the rods that are in some of your "Technical Slow Pitch Jiggin for Grouper" video?
Also, you need to make a rod specific for kayak fishing as well as micro slow jigging.
@@southpaw8040 These are the same rods as that video, we can make you a power 0 tribute for micro slow jigging
🔥🔥🔥
Two questions…
1. Would you be willing to acid wrap a tribute for a left handed reel?
2. Don’t suppose you would be open to some sort of upgrade deal? I purchased a JYG revolution from an authorized dealer earlier this year, love it…but it’s not a tribute, nor wrapped in the direction I’d like lol.
@@Ggutierrez1936 1. Absolutely, we would love to build you one acid wrap for a left handed.
2. We can work something out where you trade your revolution for an upgrade.
Please email me at jorge@jygprofishing.com
all my rods are acid wrapped to the right
Bad ass rod. Curious looks like you reversed the second and third guide for seat but not the first. And difference in performance between that and traditional double foot layout?
Hey this is Kevin with JYG Pro, the 2nd and 3rd guides are the LRV reverse guides from Fuji, I chose those because they had a smaller footprint than the KW guides. I would’ve gone with the LKW but they don’t make them in Black Titanium/SiC.
must be very expensive
@@tydengr I think they have a very nice price point for the quality
@@jygprofishing I check the website. It is a very nice rod and reasonable price.
what blanks? and you need a full eva or cork grip so the rod holder doesn't fuck it. I get custom made rods with a full eva butt for this reason. don't harp on about lightness and sensitivity as that's all marketing.
Hey this is Kevin with JYG Pro. They’re our Tribute blanks, we sell them through Anglers Resource (Fuji USA). I like adding a small EVA piece in the center of the split grip for rodholder protection, I try not to use full grips because I like how the blank + butt grip fits under my arm. As for the lightness and sensitivity, I will agree that in most scenarios it is a marketing ploy as the difference between most rods is insignificant, and I’ll be the first to call out that f*ckery because it is mostly nonsense, but these did surprise me with how light they are and their dampening abilities. I think you’ll like em.
