The oxygen mask doors are TAPED SHUT! Unbelievably dangerous practices there. Rather than repairing a loose door that’s prone to opening on landing… they have taped them shut. In a decompression this could be fatal.

      @@JasonFlorida I was on a Northwest DC-9-30 in the 90s on a flight from MSP to DFW and being 6'5", I wasn't even able to get my feet on the ground! That was the most horrific experience in now over 45 years of flying all over the world.

    That first flight with the minimal legroom reminded me of my 25 total hours flying from UK to New Zealand. On the return trip I was feeling so rough I asked if I could upgrade to business class for the second leg but they said it was full.

      I know the feeling. Way back in the eighties I travelled on a plane, from U.K to Italy. Cannot remember the model, but I have never seen anything like it. You had to bend down to get into your seat. Three tier seating, and your legs where almost into your chest. I think it was three hours to where I was going, and had to suffer this all the way.

    Your experience with the seat reminds me of a bus trip via Greyhound from Atlanta to San Antonio in 2007 in December. Even with mandatory stops where we had to get off for driver changes and bus servicing. By the time I got to my final destination I couldn't even feel my knees they had actually gone to sleep. You end up with a case of potential DVT whether you want it or not

    Noticed the aircraft skin doublers and window belt modifications around the L1 door as you boarded. Brought me back to doing these huge repairs on SWA classic 737’s until they were all retired around 2016 I think. All high flight cycle classics were very prone to skin cracking.

    No one in that airline naming meeting knew what SCAT meant? No one looked it up on the internet to check if there were any unfortunate meanings? I hope their diligence is better in safety than it was in naming…. On another note, flying scat sounds like another way to say ‘shxx storm’ lol

    • @perberger809
      @perberger809 Год назад

      Yeah, they could have, since the company name is in English and it was founded in 1997. The full name is Special Cargo Air Transport. An international airline might benefit from thinking about it, but you do remember the name so it works both ways. However, you have to realize we can't all be bothered what foreigners like yourself think. There are plenty of words and names in other languages that sound strange to you English speakers.

      I went China in late 1970’s & early 1980’s & they put folding chairs tied to “secured” normal seat next to it in what remember a Chinese version AN-12.
      Also flying into Beijing then people just got out of their seats while landing not think one of reasons they want you in your seats is maintain balance of the plane while landing but most didn’t care as I believe this was first trip in a airplane. Truly crazy then so I assume it much better now.
