Love this movie.... the action was believable and fit the story perfectly. God, I wish there was sequel on the needed mop-up.... they came once: why not twice?
I mean the Copperhead is an artillery shell, not a cruise missile in real life, and both move much faster, but still a fun scene.
As hokey as it is, it's nice to see a war flick where we are the good guys once again. Reminds me of the old WW2 movies. Semper Fi

You are never the good guys . Just slightly less evil . Especially in WW2 where you still treated minorities in your country almost as badly as Nazis
@@amusedmarine7402 those days are slowly ending. When you have half the population that puts political party over country and believes conspiracy theories and the far right, then that's all you need to see.

For a campy movie I really liked it
You know it’s funny. This movie came out of left field. And well yes it is basically just a mindless action movie and it’s also pretty clearly meant to be a bit of a not so subtle recruiting tool for the US marine Corps overall, I actually enjoyed this movie. It’s one of those films where you can just turn your brain off grab some popcorn and a drink and just enjoy some mindless entertainment for a while. I do, however wish that it had gotten a sequel. Because I really wanted to see the humans starting to push back.
Another thing they’ll probably would’ve been interesting is a film that could be a companion to this movie, but maybe it was set in a different country. For instance, maybe the United Kingdom.
It amazes me that Fast and Furious has managed 10 movies, but mindless fun action flicks like this that establish a pretty solid skeleton of story don't even get a sequel.

@@panan7777 Especially with the drones. Or that walking gun turret thing. No obviously the cybernetics would probably need a great deal of work.
But I could definitely see a great wealth of information being gathered following hopeful victory.

They mentioned in the movie that the Alien soldiers had minimal nervous system, no pain receptors per se, just enough to function, sense pressure. Also redundant vital organs and not where you expect them to be. Head shots don't work because the head is just a sensor platform, the brain is in it's right chest.

The technology required to master space travel alone would make these aliens so highly advanced that there would be no resisting anything they wished to do to us. The entire premise of this film is absurd.

@@KC-hg8zz yes. They fly across the galaxy using technology that’s a million years in advance of humanity (or more), and then engage us in 20th century ground combat with what are essentially gunpowder weapons. Makes total sense.
"That hurt." Great scene. Not at all cringe and made me want to smash my computer screen. God the Aliens in this movie look terrible. Why is HR Giger the only artist who can design a good alien?
What I love about these alien invasion movies, is that the aliens are always too stupid to exist.
There is absolutely no way a hostile alien race will fail to destroy humanity.
But the funny thing is that there is no such thing as a hostile alien race.
Earth is entirely worthless to any alien race - and there is nothing on Earth which is attractive to aliens - and everything is at the bottom of a stinking gravity well.
So, we can rest assured that all aliens we meet will be peaceful, and the only thing they will want it is to trade information and ideas.
For example; our game of chess might be worth some serious advanced physics, or materials technology.
Hell, our entire collection of music might be worth more than a fusion reactor and a Faster Than Light drive.
Water. 75% of the earth is water, care to take a guess where else in the solar system there is water?
