Sorry for the butt shots lol. Shot this video to show how the 1022ER would perform for the first significant snowfall of 6-8". Pleasantly surprised it cut through the heavy snow quite quickly, and was capable of chewing up the snowplow banks (note - the banks did not contain heavy chunky ice). This single stage unit probably saved me 45-60 minutes of shovelling.

I like my Ariens Path Pro.21 The gas cap and oil dipstick are under a door that keeps snow away from them which I like. People tell me these newer B&S engines do not hold up like the ones of old.

I have the very same machine since 2014. I just love it as long as its maintained it will work like a boss. Ottawa Ontario Canada

Hey Tom, what do you recommend as top maintenance items?

    • @tomconnors6310

I love my machine. Basic maintenance is all you need. In your jerry can add 2 ounces of gas stabilizer and swish it around, and do so every time you refill the jerry can with Supreme gas. The rubber paddles will need to be changed about every second spring not a difficult job to do. Change oil every spring, and check the spark plug. WD40 lube everything, handles, shoot rotation, every screw head you can see give it them a shot. Keep an eye on your belt and pulleys. Lube the auger and keep and eye on the scraper edge if it gets to chipped easy to replace. I get mine services at SOS Power Supplies Carling and Clyde. With the 30 cm we just got bet your glad you have it. When you store it in the spring empty all the gas as much as you can I use a turkey baster to get most of the gas out from the bottom of the fuel tank, and then let run to burn off the rest. Add stabilizer about 3 ounces then pull the cord as if to start 2-3 times this will cycle the stabilizer to the seals and you are set for the summer months in the fall just add gas. Hope this helps Justin I have been doing this for years and the machine has never let me down.

@@tomconnors6310 thank you, appreciate that information! The 1022ER worked well in this latest storm, even got through the end of the driveway heavy stuff pretty easily.

I finally picked up a single stage EGO like 5 years ago. One of my first thoughts was, I wish i had this dam thing when i was growing up. i could have made a killing doing driveways and walkways. lol I'm a cold weather snow lover for sure but now I REALLY want it to snow even more, gives me an excuse to play outside now lol.
I am gonna brag though, I drive a JA Laure T95 with a blower attachment that removes 3600 tons per hour, SO FUN!!! lol

I just got the Snapper 1022EX snow shredder does a nice job even on the stuff the city plow leaves on the side and end of my driveway, think it is faster than a two stage because you are not shifting between forward and reverse or selecting the speed.

Snowjoe makes a hybrid snowblower that has A/C plug in option when not on battery power

Not sure what’s better: 7min snow removal and getting back to chores, or manual shovelling and taking 3 days on the couch cause you just blew out your back

@@mrbubetube too bad! Usually that's the problem we have lol (can get it in USA but not Canada). I have heard that the battery powered EGO snow blowers are very good.

@@dustinj7650 ya, I've heard the EGO snow blowers are better than most other electric snowblowers, but wow, you gotta pay a lot for the batteries. I think those snowblowers should have an AC plug in option so you can use that power source when you're close enough to plug in, and then only use the battery option when you're too far away from a power source. that way you don't have to have so many batteries.
