I find watching these so interesting, how different families, young people with same or different needs and how it affects them differently!! I live with two special needs brothers which was extremely difficult when I was younger. I now work with disabled and severe special needs children which I wouldn't change for the world. It can be extremely difficult at times when meltdowns happen with lashing out e.g when I had to take myself to A&E but watching how other people live and work around routines etc apart from seeing them at school is such an amazing thing to see. He seems like such an amazing boy with a great character! 😇 What I find when children have a meltdown randomly, is because of their meds been changed, been to hot, change in routine or home, trying to tell you something but can't etc many things that not many people would think of can be the answer it's not always because they don't get their way, it can be something completely different 🤓
Poor Andy ! It’s probably a combination of teenage hormones & the increase in weight meaning his medication probably needs increasing. Just remember your doing a great job no matter how many bad days.

I have watched a lot of your videos now as my son has suspected asd and found them really helpful. Andy is such a sweet kid and you guys are so kind and patient. If he takes his clothes off in the house have you thought about getting mirrored film for his window? It's pretty cheap and easy to put up, might save some awkward views for the neighbours and protect his privacy.
I think the positive thing in terms of the school is they are persevering and not sending him home when he has a meltdown or sleeps so at least he isn't associating doing that with coming home early and not having to stay at school. Glad the second half of the week was better hope the fluoxetine dose increase helps. My 7 year old nephew has just been diagnosed with autism and his older brother who is 12 is awaiting a possible diagnosis. So it's helpful to see how andy copes as he is getting older.
What an exhausting first few days for you and Anna it must have been. Thank God things got better later on. The storm was a severe one, but apart from some material damage no real human casualties, thank God. Just to tell you a little personal decision I have made; Last week I have decided to cancel and to kick out the television and its channels. I got annoyed, for some time allready, for having some 100 channels with only commercials and non interesting crap on TV. It actually became more annoying, knowing I had to pay some €40 to only have that ... Next to that, I barely was watching TV, which made it easy to cancel TV and its belongings. You know, living without a TV is easier then you think, news can be seen everywhere these days. There ofcourse is internet, but think of the radio aswell. It has been a relief so far for me being without a TV to be honest.... Great Vlog, Kev!

During my first year at The Priory School in Spalding, most of the year, I used to have a lot of meltdowns and didn't want to be at school. I remember running out of the classroom and saying "I hate school, I'm getting out of here!" In some cases, I actually ran out of the school literally down Neville Avenue, but if I had brought myself into doing it, I would've ran into town or hide in Springfields, making it harder for Mrs Luckett to find me with her car....
Our son has sleep issues associated with Autism...sometimes he likes to sleep at Dayhab (work daycare for adults with special needs) I'm curious as to what the school does when Andy tries to nap?

I really hope You can get Andy's Medication Dosage Sorted out as Soon as Possible, as these Constant and Consecutive Severe Meltdowns are absolutely Heart-breaking to hear about, I really hope You can get Him sorted out and back to His Usual Happy Self as quickly as You Can. Please try and bring the Appointment forwards if You can, as finding out that Andy is suffering so Terribly due to too low a Dosage of Medicine is Devastating. I am just Glad that Andy has good Teachers who are able to Handle Him at His Worst, Understand, and can get Him calmed back down, Sadly, that was a Privilege I never had the Luxury of Experiencing, most of the Teachers I had, with only Four Exceptions, neither Understood nor Cared, and I was left to Rot :( Yes, I also tend to go into a Meltdown when the Internet goes Down, not to that "Nuclear" Severity , but I do tend to Explode into a "smaller" Meltdown. I do agree that it sounds to Me as well like Andy isn't having enough Medication to keep Him calm :( It is a Fact that a lot of People with Autism, not all, but most, really enjoy Sorting things into Lists and Piles, many of us find such Repetitive actions to be Calming, so something that involves Repetitive Sorting, like that, although a Neurotypical Individuals idea of mind numbing tedium, is hugely enjoyable, and incredibly Calming , to a lot of People with Autism, so that may Explain why Andy Loves the Foodbank Days. I am absolutely Devastated that Andy didn't go to the Food Bank, and I can well and truly Understand why He went into a Meltdown over that, I am not Excusing it, I just understand, as, well, being told I am not going to be able to do something that I have been looking forward to is an absolute *Berserk* Trigger for Me I am afraid, it will, without fail, cause an Instant, Catastrophic, Meltdown (or worse, it can sometimes cause a "Shutdown" which is where I get into such a complete Tizz and a state of complete Mental Overload that I essentially "Bluescreen" and *literally* Pass out) I am not excusing Andy's behaviour here, I am just Sympathising with it, as I would have gone absolutely Nuclear as well In the same Circumstances. Indeed, Three, maybe Four, Meltdowns in a Row is not good at all, this really needs to be Sorted, because it is Awful that Andy is suffering like this. However, one thing I do not Understand, if Andy doesn't want to go to School, if He is suffering so much there, then why Send him? You used to be a Teacher, so surely You could Home-school Him should the absolute worst Happen? Constant Bullying from Teachers and Pupils alike, Permanent Sensory Overload from the Smells and the Noise and the Strip Lighting, never Ending Routine Changes, and the Havoc of a Uniform I couldn't put on Properly, and, in the case of Juniors, led to Me getting Hurt every. Single. Day. School was a Terrible place for Me, and the constant Suffering of having to go, with no Escape, that unending feeling that I was *literally* In the Hell of the Damned absolutely Destroyed Me! I just didn't want to go, because I couldn't cope, at all, yet I was forced to go, and it lead to a State of Sheer Mental Suffering for Me that lead to *two* full blown Nervous Breakdowns and Myriad Mental Health issues that I still suffer from to this Day, over 20 Years after the First breakdown. it is not Nice believe Me. So again, like You, I Really hope Andy doesn't get that "School - the Bad Place" idea, because it could Destroy Him and I Genuinely do not want that Happen to Him, or anyone for that Matter, So, I am sorry to say this, but if Andy does get the "School = the Bad Place" Idea, and I Pray that He doesn't because I don't want anyone, and especially not someone who I have come to actually care about, like Andy, to go through that kind of suffering, that Home-schooling may well be the best Option. So hopefully you can Nip these issues in the Bud before that Idea gets any chance to Fester. I don't want to Scare, Upset or Depress You, I just, as someone who Really *suffered* at School, want to give You some idea of How Destructive that Suffering can be and why its best to Try and avoid it at all costs, even, if Necessary, should the Worst come to pass, Home-schooling.. :( I am Sorry You had an absolutely Terrible Night due to Andy's Recent Extreme Behavioural Issues, again, I genuinely Admire Your and Anna's Patience, You are absolute Saints, because , again, really do not even want to think about how My Parents would have Reacted in that iPad Meltdown Situation :( lets just say My Father would have taken it off My by Force as He will not tolerate any sort of "Defiance" against Him and leave it at that :( so again, I admire Your Patience and Calmness in those sorts of Situations. Andy is very Lucky to have a Daddy (and I use the Term Daddy, as I said, a Father just Supplies the Secret Sauce, a Daddy is the Man who Raises You) who He associates with Love, Fun, and Adventure Saturdays, like You. My Parents, due to the Snoring issue, have Separate Rooms. Stories and Mr Hand? and then a School Refusal? Oh No, it sounds like Andy might be suffering a Regression, this is absolutely Awful to Hear :( Poor Guy, I really hope You can get this Medication Issue sorted out as soon as Possible before it all goes back 3 Years and Your back to Square 1, as I really do not want that to happen to You all. I am glad You still managed to get Him to go to School, that couldn't have been Easy, but I am glad You managed to Get Him to Go with the Tesco Deal. Sometimes Bribery and Corruption is the only thing that Works. In the End, Years 10 and 11, the only way My Parents got Me to go to and Stay in School was to *literally* Buy Me a New Game every Weekend, it must have cost them an abject utter Fortune, but it was the only way to stop Me bolting right back out of the Gates after Mum had driven away and fleeing to the Church or the Library or the Hospital, or somewhere else where I felt "Safe" instead, Bribery was the only way to get Me to actually Stay at School at that Point. I am afraid to say that if I ever go to London again it will be too Soon, I went once, with Year 6, and hated every. Single. Second. of it. I Never want to go there again. Ever. Not even the Promise of the IWM will lure Me down there again I am afraid. That was some Stupidly Overpriced food though! I have not heard of the Writer You mentioned Either, I do not Read the Guardian as it absolutely Infuriates Me into a full blown Raging Fury with its SJW leanings, and the only Comics I read these Days, *if* I can get My Hands on them, are "Deadpool" and "The Punisher" , I am glad You had a Fantastic Time at that Workshop however Mr Chapman. I am glad Andy finally had some good Days at School starting with Thursday, at the end of the Week and He Started to Cheer Up again! that is Great News :) I am glad He had a good time at Tesco, and I hope that He is Finally on the Mend and will be getting back to the "Happy" Andy that I love to see :) My Money is on the Wobble being Caused by His Medication Dose being too Low given His recent Growth Spurt and the fact He now Eats Properly and is of a Healthy Weight, and, of Course, Teenage Hormones, Teenagers are somewhat "Crazy" and completely Unpredictable and prone to massive and Extreme Mood Swings due to all the Hormonal Chaos inside their Heads... combine that with Autism which tends to make Us completely Unpredictable, somewhat "Crazy", and Prone to massive and Extreme Mood Swings... and You basically have a Double Whammy. That is what My Money, as someone who is on the Spectrum and has been through this Personally, is on. Hey Andy :) good to see and hear Him Happy and more back to His Usual Self again both before and after School :) and its Great to know He had good Days at School at the end of the Week. Yeah, due to Storm Ciara, I can see why Adventure Saturday was Off, as Storm Ciara with all that Noise and Wind and Rain, was Pretty flaming Scary! Especially as it bought some Walls and Trees crashing down :( I am really glad that Andy still had a Good Day at that Adventure Saturday being cancelled wasn't an issue. About the Gaming Channel: any chance of some Boomer Shooters on "Lolujo 2"? There is a chance, an off Chance, as this happened to a Friend of Mine, that Andy might have Fallen over in School (due to falling over His own Feet, or Tripping over His Shoelaces, as I notice they are very Long! or some other such reason) and came, for a Short While, to Associate School with Falling over, causing a lot of Unease and leaving Him prone to Meltdowns, until He Forgot about the Fall. I hope I am dead wrong on that as I don't want Him to have Fallen over at all, but it is a Possible Reason for the Issues as that is exactly what did happen to a Friend of Mine once. Indeed, here is hoping the Series of Unfortunate Events is over! Maybe you need to increase the meds because of the weight gain. Dosing is usually done by weight.

School was a Terrible place for Me, and the constant Suffering of having to go, with no Escape, that unending feeling that I was *literally* In the Hell of the Damned absolutely Destroyed Me! I just didn't want to go, because I couldn't cope, at all, yet I was forced to go, and it lead to a State of Sheer Mental Suffering for Me that lead to *two* full blown Nervous Breakdowns and Myriad Mental Health issues that I still suffer from to this Day, over 20 Years after the First breakdown. it is not Nice believe Me.
So again, like You, I Really hope Andy doesn't get that "School - the Bad Place" idea, because it could Destroy Him and I Genuinely do not want that Happen to Him, or anyone for that Matter, So, I am sorry to say this, but if Andy does get the "School = the Bad Place" Idea, and I Pray that He doesn't because I don't want anyone, and especially not someone who I have come to actually care about, like Andy, to go through that kind of suffering, that Home-schooling may well be the best Option. So hopefully you can Nip these issues in the Bud before that Idea gets any chance to Fester. I don't want to Scare, Upset or Depress You, I just, as someone who Really *suffered* at School, want to give You some idea of How Destructive that Suffering can be and why its best to Try and avoid it at all costs, even, if Necessary, should the Worst come to pass, Home-schooling.. :(
I am Sorry You had an absolutely Terrible Night due to Andy's Recent Extreme Behavioural Issues, again, I genuinely Admire Your and Anna's Patience, You are absolute Saints, because , again, really do not even want to think about how My Parents would have Reacted in that iPad Meltdown Situation :( lets just say My Father would have taken it off My by Force as He will not tolerate any sort of "Defiance" against Him and leave it at that :( so again, I admire Your Patience and Calmness in those sorts of Situations. Andy is very Lucky to have a Daddy (and I use the Term Daddy, as I said, a Father just Supplies the Secret Sauce, a Daddy is the Man who Raises You) who He associates with Love, Fun, and Adventure Saturdays, like You.

Oh No, it sounds like Andy might be suffering a Regression, this is absolutely Awful to Hear :( Poor Guy, I really hope You can get this Medication Issue sorted out as soon as Possible before it all goes back 3 Years and Your back to Square 1, as I really do not want that to happen to You all. I am glad You still managed to get Him to go to School, that couldn't have been Easy, but I am glad You managed to Get Him to Go with the Tesco Deal. Sometimes Bribery and Corruption is the only thing that Works. In the End, Years 10 and 11, the only way My Parents got Me to go to and Stay in School was to *literally* Buy Me a New Game every Weekend, it must have cost them an abject utter Fortune, but it was the only way to stop Me bolting right back out of the Gates after Mum had driven away and fleeing to the Church or the Library or the Hospital, or somewhere else where I felt "Safe" instead, Bribery was the only way to get Me to actually Stay at School at that Point.
I am afraid to say that if I ever go to London again it will be too Soon, I went once, with Year 6, and hated every. Single. Second. of it. I Never want to go there again. Ever. Not even the Promise of the IWM will lure Me down there again I am afraid. That was some Stupidly Overpriced food though! I have not heard of the Writer You mentioned Either, I do not Read the Guardian as it absolutely Infuriates Me into a full blown Raging Fury with its SJW leanings, and the only Comics I read these Days, *if* I can get My Hands on them, are "Deadpool" and "The Punisher" , I am glad You had a Fantastic Time at that Workshop however Mr Chapman.
I have to be Knocked out to have Blood Tests, as I am Terrified of Needles and go absolutely *Frantic* if I see one, I will Literally Smash the Surgery Up in a Frenzied attempt to Escape, so its best to put Me on the "Hippie Gas" before coming near Me with a Needle, as I am so Spaced out on that Stuff I just don't care!

I am glad Andy finally had some good Days at School starting with Thursday, at the end of the Week and He Started to Cheer Up again! that is Great News :) I am glad He had a good time at Tesco, and I hope that He is Finally on the Mend and will be getting back to the "Happy" Andy that I love to see :)
My Money is on the Wobble being Caused by His Medication Dose being too Low given His recent Growth Spurt and the fact He now Eats Properly and is of a Healthy Weight, and, of Course, Teenage Hormones, Teenagers are somewhat "Crazy" and completely Unpredictable and prone to massive and Extreme Mood Swings due to all the Hormonal Chaos inside their Heads... combine that with Autism which tends to make Us completely Unpredictable, somewhat "Crazy", and Prone to massive and Extreme Mood Swings... and You basically have a Double Whammy. That is what My Money, as someone who is on the Spectrum and has been through this Personally, is on.

Yeah, due to Storm Ciara, I can see why Adventure Saturday was Off, as Storm Ciara with all that Noise and Wind and Rain, was Pretty flaming Scary! Especially as it bought some Walls and Trees crashing down :( I am really glad that Andy still had a Good Day at that Adventure Saturday being cancelled wasn't an issue.

There is a chance, an off Chance, as this happened to a Friend of Mine, that Andy might have Fallen over in School (due to falling over His own Feet, or Tripping over His Shoelaces, as I notice they are very Long! or some other such reason) and came, for a Short While, to Associate School with Falling over, causing a lot of Unease and leaving Him prone to Meltdowns, until He Forgot about the Fall. I hope I am dead wrong on that as I don't want Him to have Fallen over at all, but it is a Possible Reason for the Issues as that is exactly what did happen to a Friend of Mine once.
Indeed, here is hoping the Series of Unfortunate Events is over! I also Hope that Andy has a Great Half Term full of Adventure Days at both Respite and in London, and I am glad You got a Good Deal on that House for Vidcon for You and the Family :)
