Great story and some nice shots of POV driving and sounds of the Eclipse. Love your content. I always wanted a GSX, they are really rare here, but finding a decent one and get it shipped to The Netherlands is madness. Hence I am going for an Evo hopefully soon! You probably won't read this but I've always wanted to have a 2g eclipse for my first car and I'm currently saving for one. But I just wanted to say that I look up to you build highly and get so much motivation to do right and not rice it out. You inspire me to want to have a clean eclipse. Just bought a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS this past friday. Bought it for $350 because the person selling it thought the motor was blown. It wasnt. It just needed a starter😂 im the second owner of it. Super clean just needs a paint job BAD. Super stoked to be in the DSM scene officially.

I own a European market 2ga Eclipse GS (4G63 NT) and done a 2gb facelift on it (changed the bumper & spoiler for the same ones you have on your car)
tuning is very much regulated here so can't do much with the car, currently in some legal trouble with a replacement exhaust.
but I'm loving this car, I've wanted one ever since I first saw it in early 2000's.
never regretted buying mine, even after spending thousands on rust repair and body work.
yours is really inspirational and I hope mine can one day be just as breathtaking as yours :)
Seeing your videos made me want this car that much more, then I did, I got my hands on a 97 gs spyder, It wasnt exactly what I was looking for but I couldn't be happier, even tho it's a convertible I have big plans for the car itself, thanks for bringing much needed love to this community. Gotta start somewhere.
So I’ve been in the same boat as you once were. My first car was a 1997 eclipse gs in 2017. I still have the car and it’s got so much sentimental value to me that I haven’t let it go even though it hasn’t ran in a year and it’s not in the best shape either. I’ve since gotten a 99 gst that was super clean but had a blown engine, I never have gotten to that project and then now have a 13 mini coop s.
One day I hope to do something with my gs, only reason I haven’t gone out to fix it is because I’m constantly battling the thought that realistically it’s not worth the time or money like most people would say, but sentimentally it’s worth every penny to me.

You ever thought about finding someone who could replicate that lip for you? Might be a good investment alongside grabbing another bumper and having it color matched so you're not worried about destroying the original.

I currently have a 1ga(1990) talon, and previous car was a 1gb(1992), I love these DSMs, keep getting stuck on stuff when it's not working right, but MAN I love seeing your DSM, new subscriber for sure, keep it up man!!

I'm new to DSM, I saved a beautiful white gsx from partout. Your car is amazing man, the POV was excellent the mic picks up your exhaust nicely.
Your throttle response and shifting is so crispy, I could watch that for an hour. My Honda is like that but my gsx is not at all, I guess I have some work to do.

Awesome journey man. Much like 9630, eh? Started as a 1.3 and then went 1800 SOHC... riced the shit out of it...then went 1800 DOHC turbo and evo 123 body parts. Still get hate that the car's not an evo and still FWD. And that's fine. I've been building since 2001 and will continue to.

Love this video man, you wouldn't believe how many similarities my story has. You got into the game at the same age and year as me. Let me ask you a question, i think I remember you from 2011-12. Were you part of the group buy for that "Prototype Rear diffuser" on DSMTUNERS ? It was me, and like 15-20 other people. I swear I remember your car and it looks almost exactly like the one I got.

Miguel Dsm That’s pretty cool man. 8+ years ago. Your car was like a urban legend at the time, people thought it was photoshopped, edited, it didn’t run only looked cool, etc. It definitely sent a ripple in the community I will never forget that era.

@@MiguelDsm just sucks how haters hate. Im a nissan guy but always loved the 99 dsm's such nice looking cars. I had a 91 sentra se-r turbo swaped back in 2004. I had so many jdm parts. People would hate why a sentra cause back then was all hondas. But after i kicked there ass they stayed quiet. Im not to far from redlands too lol

love the POV on the car and yeah i know about the hate of the 420a's and mainly its because its not the 4G63 which was a purpose built factory race engine that was detuned for the street ,but 8 years isn't to bad time frame wise its been ten years of gathering parts for my talon so i can just build none stop till its finished.and i have the Evo 3 engine in mine which i get grief about why did i do that i just say one simple thing higher compression is why the Japaneses run 9.5 to 1 compression in the engine over there so allot more power on their engines.

I used to have that same lip (in urethane) back in 2001 when I had an Eclipse GST that is the same body style. That thing CAUGHT ON EVERYTHING. However, because it was made of thick plastic it was super strong and never broke. Unfortunately, it eventually caught on a tank lid at a gas station and it tore my bumper cover. So yeah, that lip is NOT SAFE to drive around with. Though I do believe a CF version of the lip would crack or break before it tore a bumper off.

I love this car it’s so clean. I’m thinking about getting a 2g eclipse and hopefully being able to evo swap it. Do u think I should get gs model or a turbo model if I plan to evo swap it?
Idk much about the 6 bolt engines but I would say that if you're planning on keeping the car for more than 5 years then get a gs and do the evo swap eventually, but if you want to have fun just for a couple years than get the gst bro, either way both cost crap ton of money to maintain.
