@@Neo_AIOnot only NVIDIA, but AMD too. IDR who said it from EVGA, but basically implied they explored AMD, and it was also no good. So basically the problem is how they had 2 options. I doubt things will improve as Intel gets more competitive, since we already saw what they did while AMD was not competitive.

As all the voltages are present (especially the core and memory), that means the core is fried. Which also means the owner has a very slow short-circuit-response PSU. It goes to show why it is necessary to get a good PSU. I had a similar issue where one of my drmos was fired during a gaming session. But Alhumdulillah, thanks to my PSU's fast SC protection, the 12V could never reach the core, and I was able to save the GPU just by replacing the drmos.

Yea that power stage died and probably took the GPU core and memory along with it. Another reason not to push cards too hard, keep the power delivery system running in a more comfortable range for durability. If you want to overclock like crazy you really need to buy the very high end boards that go out of their way and use overkill power stages (like those on the Strix) which are much more able to handle the high power requirements when overclocking, and they don't run as hot.

Higher resolutions, better graphics features, higher frame rates. Basically the top end of gaming, PS5 is fine and all but it doesn't come close to what a high end current gen PC gaming card can do.
It has always been an expensive way to play games. Some people will also use cards like this for work, 24GB cards like are quite capable as workstation cards... but obviously not this one which is just for running the latest and greatest games well.
