    JP 151 also come out near the end of the waifu bubble (Erika SAR was around $300 (usd) around release now dropped to $100-90 now). So the set definitely got the waifu hype boost to maintain the crazy prices for this long and held it as soon as people slowly shifted to Master Balls.

    My personal distributor told me about the price drop almost 2 weeks ago and I grabbed some myself. Now is the time to buy jp 151, prices will go right back up after the reprint.

      Not really because LGS, Investors, Purchased 151 Top Dollars, over 200 dollars, so now they are stuck with a lot of inventory, and if sold now LGS, Investors will. Take a Big loss. It will take time, but not at the same level,

      No not really. Pokémon ended 1st editions for English sets a long time ago, and they ended in 2016 for Japanese.

    Here is the difference...it's cheaper to buy japanese singles than the english version. I couldn't get a decently priced full art Blastoise and Venusaur english version...so, I took a short cut in my 151 Master Set by getting the Japanese full art Blastoise and Venusaur (all the rest are English).
    Don't misconstrue my comment. It is what it is. Generally, the English 151 singles are more expensive than the Japanese cards. Nothing wrong with collecting either sets. I just originally wanted to collect my set from the same series. But the English singles are really cost prohibitive now, so I took a short cut in my 151 master set. Doing the same thing now for my latest project (collecting the 1st 45 (yeah, not 48, just 1 per character) holos (base/fossil/jungle), and I am combining english and japanese cards. I just want the art.

    • @phillips.collectibles

      That’s unfortunate. I have noticed some JPN sets reduce quality to meet demand with the new JPN interest.

  • @samersalama6275

    I regretted not investing in this set. Also the English version is difficult to invest in when your options are booster bundles, upc and ETBs. I am going to try to pick some of these up during the reprint but I want to see if I can purchase through the Pokémon center in Japan rather than go through a third party. Not sure if it’s possible though.

    • @phillips.collectibles
      @phillips.collectibles  7 месяцев назад

    • @samersalama6275
      @samersalama6275 7 месяцев назад

      @@phillips.collectibles yep and they are difficult to ship. I keep looking at the Charizard UPC and I know the 151 is in a different bracket because it’s the best way to get the most packs, but it’s hard to invest when the Charizard box hasn’t moved much in 2 years.

    For the first time I saw 151 ETB at target and there was 4 of em. Took 2. Went back to leave a morpeko CZ box and the other 2 got picked up leaving none. Those 151 etbs are pancakes just get em. There was plenty of paradox rift and temporal forces etbs but again 151 they go fast. My son pulled a blastiose man we were happy.
