The lip, to me, looks like a slightly warm neutral peach! I think it's super, super flattering on you. It looks just grey enough to not be too vibrant, but just slightly too warm to call it your perfect nude.
The lip color absolutely reads (to me) as a warm nude on you! Yes, “peach” is applicable, but in a very neutral way, I think. It doesn’t read particularly pink. Despite the disconnect from what you were expecting, I could totally see it becoming a staple in rotation once you get it all settled into your makeup mind palace.
It may not be what you were expecting, but that lipstick is truly phenomenal on you. Plus that palette is so flattering. I usually don’t pine after luxury makeup, but these are standouts!

I have the Les Filles en Rouje palette and use the three cheek colours on my lips as well. The highlighters can also be used on the eyes (they work best on a base). Enjoy! Xx
I have a La Bouche Rouge lipstick - was ridiculously expensive. However, when the magnet dislodged itself from the lipstick tube attached to the leather case (making the whole thing unusable), the company sent me a brand new lipstick. They were great to deal with and did the right thing.

It's kind of a common thing to call a matt or satin eyeshadow with micro glitter a sequin texture. I've seen that with tati beauty (she even called herself an inventor of the sequin shadows inspite of it being around for ages 😬) and some smashbox shadows (i've had their mini pallet with some smoky shades and one was very deep black with a bunch of colourful micro glitter that made it look like starry night filled with fireworks).
Btw my fav technique to use that kind of product is to blend it into the crease and then press on the lid with fingers. that way you get soft edges without loosing all of the sparkle, bc brush bristles or even swiping with a finger can just kick off all the micro glitter or it wouldnt stick
Oh I love the lipstick in the cardboard tube! It looks elegant! I appreciate brand like Axiology and Ethique for making lipsticka/multi-use balms in cardboard packaging, but both brand lean into “fun” packaging, so I’m excited to see a more refined and simple cardboard tube!
The lipstick looks beautiful on you. It's not quite neutral, it's more of a slightly burnt peach that brightens your complexion. The tortoiseshell packaging of the Rouge palette is stunning - I always pick tortoiseshell eyeglass frames because there's something so appealing about it!
I honestly think that lip color looks extremely natural on you! Maybe not for people who are used to seeing you sans makeup, but I think if someone saw you out and about in that lipstick, they might just think it's your normal lip color
Oh god.. There was an absolutely iconic YSL campaign about a decade ago with Jessica Chastain for their Manifesto fragrance. In the campaign images, Jessica is shown with her hands covered in purple paint (for some reason..) in front of a maniacally painted white wall. Hearing you say the words YSL explosive brown threw my imagination right back to it, but uh.. in a completely new light. What a weird mix of chuckle and cringe. Mistakes were made, YSL! Mistakes were made.
I think with the lipsticks, I LOVE that the fancy component is separate. I can see wanting a stable, sturdy, more water tight component for traveling and being able to have the same component for multiple lipsticks. It feels a lot like the Hourglass Slim lipsticks. And oh my gosh! I haven't bought lip products in years because I have an overabundance I'm working through... but that Ami Cole looks gorgeous! I think I actually have an LTD elf gloss in a similar color but it doesn't sheer out as well. When that one dies, this one is on my radar. Its lovely. Good price point too.
My heart leapt when I saw la bouche rogue in the title. I've been wanting to see you review this brand for months. My ultimate dream would be ~An Insanely Thorough~ HLP review of all lbr reds, with swatches, like the Merit video. No one does color analysis like you. I would cry.
That lip color is GORGEOUS on you and a great nude for you. I think its your ideal springtime nude. I also think its particularly lovely with a subtle eye look with dewy fresh skin like you have here. I think you feel like it isn't as neutral as you would like because the eyes are so paired back. If you paired this with a bright eye, it would look painfully neutral. But this way, it feels like its showcasing your lips without screaming "look at my mouth".
Ami Colé as a brand intrigues me even though I am very fair, just because I am so happy to see a brand for melanin rich skin in the clean beauty sphere as so much that exists now is not inclusive of those skin tones. I feel like it really as a brand doesn't feel like its repetitive & actually was something new for the makeup world because so much seems like it is in excess of what is "needed" in the beauty community

I bought the les filles en rouje palette when it was released and omg it's been one of my favorite things I own ever since. They're lovely on the lips and I love using the highlighters on my eyes and using them to blend the blushes into my base.
I find it weird that the "refill" part of the lipstick is made of metal, while the outer packaging is recyclable. That just seems kind of backwards when the outside is the bit that could be reused.
I wish you had tried the lip oil over the lipstick. I don't think it's too coral for you at all, it actually looks great on you! But I think the lip oil would make it more of a color you would reach for more based on your style.
That rouje palette is stunning 🤩 Would love for you to revisit your skin spark blushes and tell your favorite colors! Now that they have the toasty ones it’s so hard to choose.
I really love this look on you. It looks very polished. The lip color “isn’t Hannah,” but I think it looks good. On my television set the lip color looked very light. I think I would add a lipliner into the mix. 😊
I think la bouge is targeting the buyer that has one or two favourite lipsticks that you use until empty and then refill. I have become that type of makeup buyer, I used to want everything now I only want 1 or 2 perfect items. And for that I would love amazing metal/heavy refillable compacts and holders.

I have the same situation with Matt Revolution Pillow Talk original. I was expecting something more rose/pink but on me it looks exactly like that lipstick on you. Ok, but not spectacular. And I wore it just once. Luckily for me, my younger sister found it - fell in love, and now it is her favorite lipstick. And on her, it really looks like I imagined it would be on me.

I have loved moisturizing face masks for years, but always forgot to use them regularly until you began waxing poetic about them and now it's a part of my regular routine! I'd definitely not name that lipstick nude brown ... more of a nude peach. I also have the issue of such colors translating to a withered carrot on me but this one turned out quite pretty, actually!
I would describe the le bouche rouge as subdued coral on you. I think it looks nice but it seems like it would work just for specific outfits. It's interesting, on their website, it definitely looks orange/corally, but they describe it as a 'cold brown'. As a neutral/warm redhead, I know that coral, even salmon-leaning (barf) lippies can look 'pretty' on me, I just personally hate them. Give me merit l'avenue any day...

I've heard of "sequin" formulas before that refer to a matte/velvet with micro glitters. Maybe thats what the YSL shadow was going for? I usually end up using sequin shadows like mattes too, and accept the ✨️micro glitter fallout✨️ that will surely follow. Thanks for the great content as always!
The lipstick is a desaturated peach on you BUT with the hint of orange pull it comes off as a delightfully fall vibe - maybe desaturated pumpkin?? OMG it's PUMPKIN SPICE LIPS!! Perhaps the suuuuuper neutral brown on the eye is pulling the lipstick that way, but to me the final over-all look is an unexpected but weird subtle-bright fall lip focused look - PSL lips!! Bwahahahaa!

I recently got la rogue bouche lipstick during the credo sale (set of one matte on satin for me and bestie) and shockingly i prefer the matte and its an orangey tone that i actually dont hate?!? I know that lip colour ends up being quite personal, however I think it really suits you - i could see it being especially handy if you wore a very cream/ecru outfit and wanted some colour but without the major pop. :)
My tortie kitty is beautiful 😍. She's a sphinx Persian mix and has the funniest big eyes that make her look always surprised with the small head and big body of a sphinx and a very stubby round tail and she's a split face tortie. I love tortie too clearly lol.

I really love that eyeshadow color too! Very similar skin tone and saturation to you, perhaps a tiny touch less olive, and its very hard to find brow eyeshadows that pull neutral. Not coming in here to encourage more acquisitiveness because I'm sure you already have these types of shades many times over in your collection! But. When I finally purchased the Melt Cosmetics Mary Jane palette after wanting it for over a year, I went back and searched your channel to see if you had ever talked about it, and I was shocked to discover you' dismissed it as a boring like a Naked palette in a Hot Takes. I mean, I get it, it looks like a neutral brown palette. But the entire thing is like this shadow, at least in color (much better in texture) and it is fast becoming the most useful palette I own. The colors that look more olive or grey pull as a very neutral brown or bronze on someone as olive and pale as myself, and the neutral-looking browns pull as warm browns, but in that lovely way where they are just slightly warm on olive skin, the way warm browns look on non-olive people, rather than the normal oompa loompa orange. Have you tried looking at the lipstick color in outdoor natural light? From my end the lipstick doesn't appear straight up orange. It has browns and a little bit of pink. Because of the pink it works well with your skin tone. In lipstick speak it does lean "warm neutral".
I love La bouche Rouge lipsticks . They have amazing selection of colors with differ tones that are varied enough that I have a few lipsticks and it’s worth switching & using the lux sturdy leather case. Also their new blushes fit in the same case. A negative with them is their description and web images are not great. I emailed and request a arm swatch so I could tell which was a bluer red. Ami Cole will be my next purchase ❤
I think that lip colour is STUNNING on you. I think maybe you wee put off by the colour’s lack of neutrality because “explosive brown” is so cool/neutral on your eyes that it contrasted. I wonder if there was a more coral base to your eyeshadow that the lip would look more neutral

The eye color, though not what you expected, worked out fine, the face palette is lovely *(and I must have it!),* and the lip is pretty -- not quite a nude brown, but not as peachy as you're seeing. I like it on you. BTW -- if you love tortoiseshell -- go to Casetify and look at their tortoiseshell phone case. I just got it and it looks like the Les Filles en Rouge compact -- it's FAB!

My skin is a few shades darker than yours and I have dark hair so I love a nice neutral mid toned brown. I think you’d really like the shade Ninetease from Vieve. It’s a tiny bit too pale on me, but I think would look great on you.

I find it weird that the "refill" part of the lipstick is made of metal, while the outer packaging is recyclable. That just seems kind of backwards when the outside is the bit that could be reused.

I wish you had tried the lip oil over the lipstick. I don't think it's too coral for you at all, it actually looks great on you! But I think the lip oil would make it more of a color you would reach for more based on your style.

I think la bouge is targeting the buyer that has one or two favourite lipsticks that you use until empty and then refill. I have become that type of makeup buyer, I used to want everything now I only want 1 or 2 perfect items. And for that I would love amazing metal/heavy refillable compacts and holders.

I have the same situation with Matt Revolution Pillow Talk original. I was expecting something more rose/pink but on me it looks exactly like that lipstick on you. Ok, but not spectacular. And I wore it just once. Luckily for me, my younger sister found it - fell in love, and now it is her favorite lipstick. And on her, it really looks like I imagined it would be on me.

I'd definitely not name that lipstick nude brown ... more of a nude peach. I also have the issue of such colors translating to a withered carrot on me but this one turned out quite pretty, actually!

I would describe the le bouche rouge as subdued coral on you. I think it looks nice but it seems like it would work just for specific outfits. It's interesting, on their website, it definitely looks orange/corally, but they describe it as a 'cold brown'. As a neutral/warm redhead, I know that coral, even salmon-leaning (barf) lippies can look 'pretty' on me, I just personally hate them. Give me merit l'avenue any day...

I've heard of "sequin" formulas before that refer to a matte/velvet with micro glitters. Maybe thats what the YSL shadow was going for? I usually end up using sequin shadows like mattes too, and accept the ✨️micro glitter fallout✨️ that will surely follow. Thanks for the great content as always!

The lipstick is a desaturated peach on you BUT with the hint of orange pull it comes off as a delightfully fall vibe - maybe desaturated pumpkin?? OMG it's PUMPKIN SPICE LIPS!! Perhaps the suuuuuper neutral brown on the eye is pulling the lipstick that way, but to me the final over-all look is an unexpected but weird subtle-bright fall lip focused look - PSL lips!! Bwahahahaa!
Yay I'm so glad you loved the Ami Colé gloss! I think I commented ages ago (though I might have only thought-commented which I'm in the terrible habit of doing) when you were enjoying the Trixie cosmetics taupe gloss that you should try the Ami Colé... Funny that you said you wanted to get it for people in your life because I ended up giving mine away to a friend who liked it, and I'm only partly glad that I was generous in that moment because I've missed it ever since!

i've been eying the rouje face palette - would love your updates on it! and i personally love the la bouche rouge lipsticks (i have two) - the cases are definitely the $$ aspect of the set. i love the lipstick color on you, but yes definitely on the peach/coral side - a nuder/brown liner could bring it to the color you want it to be?
I know that lip colour ends up being quite personal, however I think it really suits you - i could see it being especially handy if you wore a very cream/ecru outfit and wanted some colour but without the major pop. :)
My tortie kitty is beautiful 😍. She's a sphinx Persian mix and has the funniest big eyes that make her look always surprised with the small head and big body of a sphinx and a very stubby round tail and she's a split face tortie. I love tortie too clearly lol.

I really love that eyeshadow color too! Very similar skin tone and saturation to you, perhaps a tiny touch less olive, and its very hard to find brow eyeshadows that pull neutral.
Not coming in here to encourage more acquisitiveness because I'm sure you already have these types of shades many times over in your collection! But. When I finally purchased the Melt Cosmetics Mary Jane palette after wanting it for over a year, I went back and searched your channel to see if you had ever talked about it, and I was shocked to discover you' dismissed it as a boring like a Naked palette in a Hot Takes. I mean, I get it, it looks like a neutral brown palette. But the entire thing is like this shadow, at least in color (much better in texture) and it is fast becoming the most useful palette I own. The colors that look more olive or grey pull as a very neutral brown or bronze on someone as olive and pale as myself, and the neutral-looking browns pull as warm browns, but in that lovely way where they are just slightly warm on olive skin, the way warm browns look on non-olive people, rather than the normal oompa loompa orange.

Have you tried looking at the lipstick color in outdoor natural light? From my end the lipstick doesn't appear straight up orange. It has browns and a little bit of pink. Because of the pink it works well with your skin tone. In lipstick speak it does lean "warm neutral".
I love La bouche Rouge lipsticks . They have amazing selection of colors with differ tones that are varied enough that I have a few lipsticks and it’s worth switching & using the lux sturdy leather case. Also their new blushes fit in the same case. A negative with them is their description and web images are not great. I emailed and request a arm swatch so I could tell which was a bluer red.

I think that lip colour is STUNNING on you. I think maybe you wee put off by the colour’s lack of neutrality because “explosive brown” is so cool/neutral on your eyes that it contrasted. I wonder if there was a more coral base to your eyeshadow that the lip would look more neutral

The eye color, though not what you expected, worked out fine, the face palette is lovely *(and I must have it!),* and the lip is pretty -- not quite a nude brown, but not as peachy as you're seeing. I like it on you.
BTW -- if you love tortoiseshell -- go to Casetify and look at their tortoiseshell phone case. I just got it and it looks like the Les Filles en Rouge compact -- it's FAB!

Yeah I think that lipstick looks peach. And I completely understand your struggles because lipsticks always either pull too orange or too pink on me. My skin is a few shades darker than yours and I have dark hair so I love a nice neutral mid toned brown. I think you’d really like the shade Ninetease from Vieve. It’s a tiny bit too pale on me, but I think would look great on you.
