Today I bought a tripod of the same company as you) weight is one kilogram with a little. this is my first tripod of such good quality) carbon tripod is a dream) Greetings from Russia)
2009 I got a Benro TRA268 from Amazon for just under $200 because I needed something to fit in a motorcycle saddlebag. Four leg sections, under four pounds, 60 inch height, about 16 inches folded. Much like a Gitzo, much cheaper. I believe the company that made the Benro made Gitzos for a while. At first, it wasn’t the weight - I preferred using my 40 year-old customized Star-D/Tiltall, but now at age 70, I reach for the Benro unless I have to have something bigger. There’s a room in my house we call the Tripod Room. At least a couple dozen tripods in there. I don’t know why. Some of the are just cool, some I got cheap - yeah, that don’t explain it. There’s a binocular room too.
I just got back from 9500 ft of elevation, 15 hours of hiking trip in 27 hours. I had the large Benro Carbon Tripod which I believe it weights about 6 pounds. As soon as I got home, first I'm doing is searching for an ultra light tripod 😆 Thank you for this comprehensive review
I love my big tripods too but yeah, they are killers on long hikes. I'm still liking the Benro Slim. You'd probably need to hang a counter weight on it at that elevation and winds 👍
@@GreggMcLachlan Thank you for a quick reply. I'm trying to figure out if I can only buy the tripod legs. Because I need the panorama capability for sure. The Benro Slim's ballhead looks like one knob does it all which will not correctly work for panorama shots. What do you think?
Thanks for this extensive explanation! I'm currently looking for a super lightweight and portable but durable tripod, I keep ending up on BENRO tripods ahaha - I believe I'll get a benro, now I just need to know which model, probably the one you're showcasing!
quick question for you, do you know which series this tripod belongs to, i want to get one and a short column as an accessory and they identify them with the series number ie 0. 1, 2, 3, 4, etc
I contacted Benro and was told there is no short column for the Slim. That's a shame. It's the one big flaw with this otherwise great lightweight tripod, having no optional short column
That is a light tripod. I also not a big fan of twist locks either but that’s a nice little hiking backpack. Thank you for this Gregg
Thx Michael. It is crazy light. Really happy I got this one. The pack is the Lowepro 450 Pro Tactic, it's a very nice and light pack too

Awesome! You'll love the light weight and carbon fibre!

Almost violently Canadian, love it.

I'm really happy with my Benro tripods. I have two and both still going strong 💪
I bought two just for holding my LED lights really good quality. They look like nothing to carry.
Awesome. Super light tripod!

@@GreggMcLachlan ok thanks, what i might do is order a standard column as a spare part then cut it down to small.
thanks for asking though x x
I'd be interested in hearing how that works out. Let me know. I might try that
THANK YOU!
Cuál es la serie de trípode?
The Slim is not one of Benro's Series tripods
