I made this the other day and put it on a mexican chicken and rice dish. Oh my word it was fantastic. Thank you Heather and Linda for sharing your videos
Hello. What kind of pot are you using, and the size, brand and where did you buy? Also, where did you purchase your purple canning tools from ( the dipper, tongs and funnel). Thanks.
I am a long time canner and I like to watch your videos - it reminds me to follow the canning guidelines and not take shortcuts. I will be trying this one. Glad to see you back making videos despite being a busy mom with two beautiful babies.
I made this today super yummy .For those whom dont have access to liquid pectin I used powdered pectin 12 Tbsp(and a bit ) , and changed method to the same as what you do for pineapple jam , worked out just fine and tastes great so I thought I would share my results :-)
When you remove pepper seeds you should use plastic gloves. That's what my aunt does when she makes salsa. 13:54 extra lighting lamp? Wouldn't a 1/4" be up to the first ring groove on the outside of the jar?
I made this jelly yesterday and I'm a newbie and I have to say it was easy and it was awesome the video was easy to follow and easy to understand thank you so much for sharing your god-given talent
To clean rust off the rings of the jar, get some CLR and pour some into a flat bottomed container and allow the jars to sit until the rust is gone. Propably about 5 minutes.
Looks great I did pear preserves and made jelly as well, a neighbor gave me a big batch of pears from her tree not one but twice so I had to do something with them lol
i really enjoyed this vlog. You are an inspiration. I used to can every year and it was such a feeling of accomplishment to my pantry at the end of canning season filled with jars of produce from my garden and fruits from the farmer stand. Your instructions on how to can are excellent. Wish I could have had a Kneady Homesteader to watch and learn from when I was younger. I no longer have the oomph to can. But I enjoy it vicariously through you. Love to your wonderful hubbie and family.
absolutely!!!!!! its so easy and so much fun!!! you can use any bottled juice or frozen....as long as its no sugar added.....juicy juice is my favorite!
+Simply Sara Kitchen I want to make some of the jelly from juice too. So far, I've made Heather's Apple Pie Jam and Noreen's Pineapple Jam, but no jelly yet. When looking for more recipes a few months ago, I ran across these. Haven't tried them but they sounded interesting. Apparently you can make jelly from a bottle of pop, any flavor. The recipe is from 1935 for Root Beer Jelly. Hi Heather. I am planning on making this weekend, it looks just SO good. Can you tell me exactly how and what you use this on? You said Linda put it over pork roast. How have you used this now? Do you just pour a jar over a roast and cook? I've looked for other videos on how it was used but couldn't find any. I'm excited to make this. It looks so good. Thank you!
The Kneady Homesteader great thank you so much for the reply! I plan to make this weekend while we are snowed in! I follow you on Instagram so I will be sure to post a pic and tag you! Thanks again. 😁
This is awesome jelly to try on my next day off!! Being from South Texas, we love our peppers 😁. Thank you, your videos make it easy for me to follow; not only the visual part, but also the explanation/process of making these jellies.
+jeanne miller no i haven't but if you give it a try let me know! i didnt even know you could buy nectar in a can! hahaha i just learned something new today so thanks, Jeanne!
I love Linda's channel and videos. This jelly is so pretty. I think I have decided to start with jams and jellies when I get the nerve to start canning. It looks fun.
Hey Heather...Awesome job on re-creating Linda's jam, looks just like hers. Where did you find those little squat jars, they are so stinkin' cute...What are they, like only an inch or so tall...I love them... Blessed Be and Smooches...
+The Kneady Homesteader Thank you Heather...We have a Wally world just down the road, I'm gonna' have to go and look for them myself...LOL Blessed Be and Smooches...
I made salsa with habaneros once. I didn't have gloves. My fingers burned for hours after I was done. It wasn't nearly as bad as eating one, but it wasn't pleasant either. Did you save some seeds? I bet you could grow habaneros without attracting any animals :)
+Tammz K i googled and found a few different answers. i would look around the internet to find a good source you trust! i did find this: Certo pectin typically comes in a 6 fluid ounce pouch. 1 oz = 2 Tbsp = 4 tsp powdered. But that seems like a LOT of powdered pectin to me!
Awesome Mama you did a great tutorial!!! This is a no fail recipe and I am so happy you did this and I love when someone trys one of my recipes :) xoxox
awwwww poor Matt! Tell him next time to freeze the habanero peppers first! Then it's so super easy to de-seed those bad boys . . . it's easy breezy baby! And please, please wear disposable gloves when handling these peppers! Also I wanted your other viewers who may be interested in making this wonderful jelly they can find the recipe on Pg #73 in the new Ball Canning Cookbook. Keep the videos coming . . . you are a canning angel on RUclips here, & I do love it! This is a must make recipe for sure, anyone watching trust me when I say you must try this! Thank you Heather.
Wonderful recipe and thanks for sharing your tutorial! One thing that I would like to add - it would be much safer to use another method to remove the rust stains on the jars if they are bothersome. Using anything abrasive on glass canning jars isn't safe because it can lead to the jars breaking when putting through the canning process. But your canning is spot on, and if we only had smell-cameras we'd be in heaven!
Hey Heather - Great vid! This jelly is great mixed with mayo or miracle whip - equal parts - then spread on a chicken or turkey sandwich. Just something a little different and very tasty! Take care ~kendra
I have always wanted to do this but I get so intimidated by the process. I always knew that I would probably end up killing my family with botulism ...go to prison...and I look like hell in stripes!! Bottom half WAY too big! Ha Ha This is beautiful...I bet it tastes wonderful! You do everything so good!!
+Cinda Kellogg hahahaha YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!! o many feel the same way, I did too when I started! As long as you follow the protocol and a good recipe, all is perfect. It really is a lot of fun. I think you should give it a go! :D
Continuing to watch your playlist.
Prayers for you and your family🙏🙏🌸🌸❤️
I'm excited to can this recipe today with my mom. It's our first time canning.
I made this the other day and put it on a mexican chicken and rice dish. Oh my word it was fantastic. Thank you Heather and Linda for sharing your videos

Whink rust remover will take it right off with minimal scrubbing !
When you remove pepper seeds you should use plastic gloves. That's what my aunt does when she makes salsa.
13:54 extra lighting lamp?
Wouldn't a 1/4" be up to the first ring groove on the outside of the jar?
+GodlessManitoban yup! matt wore gloves, its in the picture at the end of the video! and yes to extra lighting and the 1st ring be 1/4"! :D

+Celine Mckie yay!!!!!! This made my day!!!!
I'll bet this is so good, You make it look so easy.
+debora mitchell it was easy, minus the de-seedig of those habanero's! hahaha
To clean rust off the rings of the jar, get some CLR and pour some into a flat bottomed container and allow the jars to sit until the rust is gone. Propably about 5 minutes.
So pretty!!!
+Melissa Gingerich they are! they glow in the light! :D
You might try soaking in white vinegar to help remove the rust. Looking forward to trying this as my 1st attempt at canning.
Looks great I did pear preserves and made jelly as well, a neighbor gave me a big batch of pears from her tree not one but twice so I had to do something with them lol

Looks wonderful! I'm going to have to try this one too! Usually I just make plain apricot when my brother brings me bags of apricots from his trees.
the spice definitely takes it to another level!
I made salsa with habaneros once. I didn't have gloves. My fingers burned for hours after I was done. It wasn't nearly as bad as eating one, but it wasn't pleasant either. Did you save some seeds? I bet you could grow habaneros without attracting any animals :)

thanks for putting up some epic ones.... this one and sweet onion jam have changed our lives! haha
If you want to use less sugar, would you used less Pectin, or does this matter?
you will have to find a low sugar recipe because it will vary depending on what you are making.
This sounds yummy. Please do a video when you taste it and let us know how it is.
+MGABBYB will do!
Can l use dry pectin in bulk for this instead of the 3 pkgs of the liquid pectin. If so, how much dry do l use I'm place of liquid
you can use powdered pectin. run a google search for a conversion from liquid to powder.
Cranberry relish
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
awwwww poor Matt! Tell him next time to freeze the habanero peppers first! Then it's so super easy to de-seed those bad boys . . . it's easy breezy baby! A little spritz of bleach helps get off the rust.
