My Aunt Kathy and I use to make "cinnamon rolls" with pineapple preserves. You should try it! You roll out the "dough", brush on the butter, sprinkle on the cinnamon and sugar, cover with "preserves", or this jam, roll and slice. Bake. I don't remember the temp. When done... drizzle on the same glaze you do on your regular cinnamon rolls and.... OMGosh! It is the best thing ever. Haven't had one in over 20 years but... I still remember how AWESOME it was!!!!

Heather, you're awesome! I've been on a Linda, Heather and Noreen kick for about two years and today decided to tackle making pineapple jam, white grape jelly, cherry jelly and white grape peach jelly. It all came out AMAZING. It couldn't be easier, but only because of the excellent instructions from you and the girls. You're all so inspirational. Keep up the amazing work!

I watched this a few hours ago and HAD to try making it. I've never made Jams or Jellies but you made it look sooo easy. The verdict is in......it is WONDERFUL!!! I substituted 1/2 of the sugar with brown sugar and put a splash of vanilla so it tastes like pineapple upside down cake! Thank you so much!!!

This sounds great!! For those of us who make more than 1 batch of the same jam-jelly to try this variation of the pineapple jam, after they make the plain one the original recipe. The one that tastes like pineapple upside/down cake 🤗😍😁!

Is it ok to add the vanilla at the end of cooking, like right after it stops boiling? Or does it need to boil with the rest of it?

I'm getting ready to gear up for a canning session to make jams and jellies for Christmas gifts. I'm also out of the pineapple jam which my husband has reminded me over and over again. My grandson reminded me we're running low on orange marmalade. I have one jar left of my apple pie jam that my daughter has laced claim to and I want to try your carrot cake jam. I've been digging out the jelly jars and getting them ready. You were talking about making whole cranberry sauce. Noreen has a good recipe as well as imstillworkin. She doesn't post much anymore but she has lots of good canning videos. I learned to pressure can by watching her and Mrs. V, Linda, Noreen and Katzcradle along with things other than canning.I just love to can see others stuff they can and watch canning videos. I'm hooked!!! God bless!

I know you likely won't see this, since this is an older video of your, but I saw this and tried it and it tasted great when I did a taste test!! I followed this recipe exactly like in this video except I used 2 boxes of suregel as thats what I had on hand. I like my jelly / jams in pint jars, I only do the half pints as gifts. I was expecting maybe 4 pints and 1 half pint since you said normally it gives you 9 half pints. OMG I got 5 pints and 1 half pint!! NOT sure how or why, but I'm happy!!

    • @TheKneadyHomesteader

always so tricky when it comes to jelly because sugar is the preservative! once you start messing with that, it' always lesser quality. no pectin works better in jams than it does for jelly in my experience. I would look into some canning books, google online and fine a recipe that has worked and been tested using no/low sugar.

Hello.... I just made the jam yesterday night...so dissapointed... (12-26-23) i used two packs of pectine, fresh pineaple that i crushed in a food processor and instead of water i use pinneaple juice...6 cups of sugar...and follow your instructions...however turned out too watery or running...it was so no setting that i use a powder made of root to thicken it...but did not work either...i canned it anyway expecting that this moring the jam will be thicker...but no...so what are my options to fix the issue...i can open all the cans and cooked again.,,,very slow to let it thicken a bit...and recan all the whole enchilada again...would that work? thanks...may blessings to you and yours.

Someone bought some tinned pineapple today.......! :-D (previously named 'Seven Little Australian's'). This recipe looks really interesting.....I would never have thought of pineapple jam, but it looks like the perfect jam for summer.....I am making some preserves for home-made Christmas hampers this year, and I think this will be included!

You can store them for at least a year or longer. I do know that if you store your jarred food away from heat, jars of food can be stored for almost forever. It depends on the climate, storage, and remember it also depends on the seal. Most important always check your jars seals often after canning. Usually every 2 weeks I check mine. So far I have never lost a jar of food.

Could you use 4 cups sugar? Seems like so much sugar, or is it a vital part for processing? Does it change the recipe if i use certo pectin? I made cherry jam tonight :) tomorrow doing pineapple and mango with light syrup and mango jam and pineapple jam. Im new at canning, i have been binge watching so many videos now going hard lol love it!! Did peaches in jars with light syrup few days ago aswell. Good job !

you can cut the sugar but that requires a low sugar/no sugar pectin that you will need to purchase to make it set right.

Thank you so much for all the wonderful videos. After spending a month watching you Mandy and Leisa I ordered my canner, books, and utensils. I decided to make this and a jelly recipe from Leisa. All the jars from both sealed but 1.(Happy Dance) The Jelly fabulous tasting. but was way too runny, and I threw it all out. The Jam fabulous tasting as well but it too was a little runny but still useable as a topping over ice cream, pound cake, etc. We even went ahead and had it on biscuits this morning. When hubby went to the store for the Ball Pectin they were out so he came home with Sure Jel. After my, not thicking issues I did a little research and found that Sure Jel only has 5 tbsp and 1 tsp. per box. I used 2 boxes in the jam but that did not equal 12 tbsp that you had used. Could this have been my issues with it not getting as thick as yours? Also, when you were heating up the jam for the first and second boil was you using high, medium or low heat. I was using high maybe that was my problem it boiling to fast. I don't know. I so want to try more but I do not want any more thicking issues. I did bring to boil that could not be stirred down both times and second time timed the 1 minutes. I made sure I measured everything. Any advise you could offer is greatly appreciated. Have a great day.

Is there a way that you can make the fruit equally distribute inside the jar and not float to the top all together? If so, how do you do that?

cooking it in the jam, also you can let it cool slightly, then stir with your debubbler, and the fruit will settle a bit more as the jam thickens.
