For shotguns the real questions are: How may darts can it fire at once? How is the spread on 10 meters? Ammo kap? Potential firerate? Is it short enough for hallway action?
Spring Thunder BUT only if you have a 3D printer. You need a LOT of shells to feed it, and they break easily so you have to make more.
You can buy them
But printing is a lot cheaper than buying if you already have a printer or if you plan on using the Spring Thunder for an extended period time.

The Liberator can hold 13 rounds when following a 11 +2 loading condition. The empty space that leads to the chamber is long enough to hold 2 darts. Load the 2 darts, close the door to push them past the white load hinge and then open the door again to load the 11 darts. When finished, send the whole assembly into fire position and you're ready to go. Also you can reload on the fly. The trick is to use the unjamming button and push the dart back. This allows more to be loaded. 👌

@@alot9917 if you keep the blaster unloaded during storage it won't wear out the magazine spring. I can understand the thought process, but the tube spring is such a loose and lightweight spring it would be very unlikely to compressed it to irreversible tension.

Rough cut is the best imo.
It's also one of the best backups due to its small size.
Front loader, Slamfire, selective double or single shot, 8 rounds and very large... Just great
I actually agree with u, although I love modding and making blasters more powerful.. the roughcut is still one of my favourite blasters of all time and actually feels like a shot gun, easy to load and u can shoot a spread of darts. Top marks in my opinion
I LOOOOOOVE the Liberator. It can manage to fit 11 rounds in the internal magazine pretty comfortably so you can do 11 plus one in the chamber.
I really wish it had slam-fire, but the fact that it doesn't means you can pump it once while holding the trigger to load one around and then again without holding the trigger to load a second to be able to fire 2 at once. Hurts the FPS a little of course but it's still usable.

They recently came out with a Rival equivalent to the dart zone shotgun.
I have one, they're quite nice.

I think I'd go for the trilogy if only being sub 100 bucks and for the hope I could get third party shells that let me use alternative ammo like boomco rounds.
What I really want is something of a rough cut inspired shotgun design. Two barrels each with their own internal magazine and spring behind it, and a half trigger pull to fire one or full trigger pull for both barrels.
I have a sledgefire and rough cut. They are both pretty cool, but the rough cut is the best! It has front loading, slam fire, select fire and is used for close quarters integration builds!
The ammo holder falling off of the spring thunder gives me “whoops my anarchy symbol” vibes
The spring thunder is an amazing blaster but it's literally 10 liberators in cost.

I definitely would have to pick the Liberator out of the three. I love it! So much fun to shoot and very accurate! I'm all about function on the playing field. With that said, now that Dollar General is selling Powerball's with a 25 round hopper for $20, it should be considered also. The hopper actually holds 30 rounds. So, basically you have the capacity of an Artemis in a lighter, more accurate, more powerful blaster at half the cost!

Get the scravenger, it has more space in the lever than the slingfire and you can use it ”sawed off” unlike the slingfire
Liberator all the waaaaaaay been a huge proponent of this blaster since I got my hands on it. Literally has been in my luggage for the past 3 weeks so I can just roll it in a war if I have to
I picked one up the other day, and I like it a lot...... Buuuuut. The Adventure Force roundsare slightly smaller than the nerf rival rounds. I can't ise actual nerf rounds in mine because they get stuck in the magazine..... Does this happen with yours?
@@henrydreier6933 No this doesn't happen at all for mine. I haven't managed to actually jam mine unless the Rival HIRs weren't properly pushed all the way into the magazine through the mossberg mechanism. I have used all 3rd party and Hasbro official Rival types in my Liberator and have yet to have a single issue.
Personally I'd like the Mega Megalodon with the 3D printed 3x elite drum!

Roughcuts are the ol' reliable of nerf. There's a reason they've been used since when they were first made. A roughcut on slamfire is truly a force to be reckoned with.
Twinshock and Roughcut are my tops. Twinshock is the most badass, but the Roughcut is easier to reload in combat.

I agree with you 100%...between those three...BUT somewhere in the middle there’s the 3-shot elite drum mod for the Nerf Mega Megalodon which I would say is pretty war practical and kinda cool and I think that would be my pick. Keep up the great work sir and I appreciate what you do for the hobby.

Sledgefire still king of shotguns. Liberator is about as shotgun as the fortnite ts, cool blaster, but not a shotgun. Twinshock and roughcut share second place. Spring thunder is superawesome, but pretty damn expensive if you're just a kid

Shells are fun to use but super slow to reload. + you can mod the rough cut easily to make it from a 4x2 into a 2x4
What do you mean by "Mossberg style loading?" In general most pump shotguns load from a gate on the bottom of the weapon.
and...mossberg usually always uses that system..

My choice is the shellstrike. With the rules and conditions of my nerf wars, it can ourgun, for example, the rapidstrike. And of course, it is small and you can maneuver all over the house easily with it

one benefit of the trilogy not ejecting shells if you angle it slightly away from the ejection port is that you can quite easily pick the shell out of the chamber and put it back into the butt holder. Saves you the hassle of having to bend down to pick up your shells or losing them entirely.

GUYS! Get the nerf Trilogy, I have it and trust me it’s fantastic, fun af, cool, and I used it in a war with my whole neighborhood and damn was it fun, worked 100% of the time and the range and spread for a shotgun is great! Yes it’s 35$ but that’s the only downside honestly. I got mine for 30$ since I work there.

I think I would prefer the trilogy because of the fact that it sometimes jams. The fact that the gun can jam and require some human interaction to free the empty shell kind of gives it some more character than nerf guns that don't jam often
I think the best shotgun you can get nowadays is probably just a MEGA Megalodon with a 3-dart conversion kit. 20 shots+slam fire=floam flying everywhere.

For me a shotgun needs to shoot more than one projectile per shot, and all projectiles in that shot leaving the barrel at the same time. So even the Liberator falls short. Sorry I dont agree. The only real choice of these is the Trilogy as a true shotgun. But my actual choice is the Roughcut. Multi projectiles per shot, pump action and great performance!
This kinda confuses me because real shotguns shoot one projectile, unless you use buckshot or something of the such. However, buckshot and the things like it are really only used for hunting.
@@sol4r3clips38 Well it shouldn't confuse you. The idea of choosing a shotgun is to clear an area or mutilple targets in close proximity. There is no advantage in carrying a single projectile 'shotty' which is so large and only carries so little ammo. You might as well carry a Retalitor, put a large capacity magazine in it, carry it upside down and call it a shotgun. Large ammo capacity, pump action and it's a 'single' projectile shotgun. If you are going to carry such a large blaster, with such a low ammo capacity, it needs to have another advantage, like multi projectile. Or you might as well use another blaster. Only thing is has they have going for them is the coolness factor of the look and the pump.
I want a trilogy personally. I dont have a shotgun shotgun, and the shell gimmick is neat; and improved on since the sledgefire. The 3d printed one is extremely pricey for a blaster that has certain issues. Nothing against the liberator and i wouldnt mind owning one; the relatively high on board capacity is neat. Its just not a shotgun in function; only form.

I don't mean to offend you drac but here's a mod guide for you on the trilogy
1 remove loading door
2 get a pvc pipe or anything that can hold the shells
3 put the right spring in said tube or pipe
4 mount the tube mag on the side or over the nerf gun
5 test and improve
Best shotgun is a caliburn using a full length mag loaded with 2 half darts in place of each regular dart. Cycloneshock shotgun conversion if you must shoot 3 at a time.
Love my liberator. Theres 3 of us at the club that love them. We rescently rented a school and split into squads we all ran around with our liberators and one the day lol.

I had a sledgefire, and it was my most reliable blaster. I wanted to attemtp my first mod, which was a very dumb idea to try on my favorite blaster, and one that's a bit complicated. I was having trouble putting it together, so I took a break.
then my dad took the tray OFF OF THE TABLE, AND ONTO A CHAIR. in PERFECT REACH of one of my dogs, who likes chewing on things. I found the mangled part later, and put it along in the garage for about a week, then thought "wait, if it doesnt work I could probably melt the plastic enough for it to work again"
turns out my dad threw out the parts.
IF the spring thunder had a mag attachment like a remington that worked it would be cool as heck and worth it.

I’d say the trilogy I can’t afford to buy a spring thunder and (it might just be mine) the liberator has the weird safety(which the easiest thing to remove but still) the mechanism is really sloppy and it doesn’t hit that hard. (Mine hit 65fps avg compared to the 55 FPS on the trilogy might seem like it is better but the trilogy shoot 3 at once while the liberator shoots one) And the fact that the liberator is single shot and rival is accurate after about 30ft but the liberator doesn’t even get that far.
My favorite shotgun is the over under config buzzbee one i no its bad but i just love the shells

Well your world is different to our cause last time i checked some of use are on budgets and can't all afford the luxury like you can of buying whatever Blaster you want, so hands down its the Trilogy DS-15 for me

As much as I enjoy 3d printed and community based projects, the California summer heat begins in spring and lasts thru fall and winter and is just as unforgiving to 3d printed components as the Georgia heat. Because of that and my budget I think the liberator will be my choice.

Alright. Since you specified blasters in production, I can't fault you for not having the sledgefire on the list. For me, it's between the spring thunder or the sledgefire. The sledgefire is a strictly better trilogy. Better stock performance. No gears. More modability. More plunger volume. You can use more shells than either the spring thunder or the trilogy. I know because I made 80% of them. Also beats out both of them in single shot performance. I get 180fps on a c836 spring. The trilogy doesn't even have enough plunger volume to push the darts through the entire shell... at 18kg. Let alone stock performance. The optimal barrel length for 3 darts is 72mm at 18kg. The shell is 80mm long. Ridiculous. Now, I'm sure if you were to somehow cram an 18kg spring in there, and somehow make a long brass barrel fit, you could achieve 200fps. For 18kg in a sledgefire, I'm pushing 260. Literally the only thing the trilogy has over the sledgefire is the capacity in the stock, and the stock ejection, which doesn't even work correctly! That's the entire gimmick, and they couldn't even make it work correctly! Also, sledgefire never misfeeds. Just saying.
I also like the up and coming Sobek shotgun, which is a better spring thunder made in Europe
Rough cut or barrel break or slingfire atlas is decent!!!! Slingfire is literally the chaperone from destiny or the pk from apex!
