- This recipe is made with aloe butter, mango butter, and squalane oil. It's scented with Greenhouse Fragrance Oil, which is sophisticated and complex. A touch of mica gives the butter a light green color and subtle sparkle.

To whip the butters, we recommend a stand or hand mixer. The squalane oil helps soften the butters and creates a smoother product. Feel free to add more squalane oil to the recipe if you don't want it as thick. Other lightweight liquid oils like avocado oil or sweet almond oil work great as well.
Because this is a heavier moisturizer, it can feel greasy on the skin when it's first applied. To help, we added arrowroot powder. It helps absorb some of the greasy feeling, but is an optional ingredient.
🌿 Whipped Aloe Body Butter:
About Five 4 oz. Bail Jars
12 oz. Aloe Butter
3 oz. Mango Butter
0.8 oz. Squalane Oil
5 mL Greenhouse Fragrance Oil
1 Tbsp. Arrowroot Powder
1/2 tsp. Snowflake Sparkle Mica
1/8th tsp. Kelly Green Mica

I love your videos and recipes. I really love the outtakes at the end of each video you seam like a lot of fun to work with...😊😊
I'm getting excited. Your videos are coming more and more as they have in the past. I'm hopeful one day you'll have one or two videos a week, and a Q&A monthly. Can we work in that again? I can't wait for the next video! I miss them!
Just love all the great ideas your company shows. Love it.
wonderful!
Already planning on making this for Christmas presents. Sounds and looks wonderful.🎄🎄
Absolutely love this recipe and I love the snippets at the end of the video lol ❤️

Awesome body cream
Awesome I'm very much into body butter this year. ❤️
Great video 👍
I love this 😍
Your videos are very nice to watch and the whipped body butters look great!
I would like to request you to share recipes for whipped body butters and lotions with only ingredients of comedogenic rating 0, for very oily, acne prone, sensitive skin.
And could you please indicate if they can be used for face and body as well as scalp and hair (I have seen some videos where they say the whipped butters are good to use for hair too).
This would be a huge help.
Thank you so much!
Just purchased some aloe butter today for my second try at body butter. I am in love. I'm wondering if the coconut oil will end up making the body butter melt a bit in the warmer months. ?
Very nice. 💚
I love
I love it. I can't wait to try. Mmmm what if I want to make twice the amount that you just make? I will double every thing?
Can u use colloidal oat powder instead of arrowroot powder?

Hi AM. Doyou have a video showing a light facial moisturiser that will hold make up in place?. Both the ones I have tested are too heavy to put make up on and are fairly greasy so makeup would disappear
Hi can we add vanilla oil for better fragrance
Can I use a natural green color like spirulina?
Can I soften the aloe and mango butters a bit before I try to mix them? Right now they're hard as rocks and I'm afraid my hand mixer won't handle it as is.
Hi I have a question, How long can last body butters?
I like to make emulsified body butter leaves the body less greasy. These butters always leave a greasiness behind always even when using arrowroot powder.
Would this work well on sensitive skin?
can you do beeswax instead of mango butter?
Beeswax is quite hard and brittle, and may be a little tricky to incorporate into this recipe. We would recommend using avocado butter or shea butter instead.
Hello,
Where can I find these cute containers?
are fragrance oils safe for hair butter recipes?
Could you do this in a stand mixer?
You can, but once you've used a tool or container for bath and body products, they can only be used for bath and body products afterwards.
@@bramble-berry ahh okay good to know!
How do your figure out the %?
I love this recipe, but I'd like to know, how long does it last? its life span I mean
The oils and butters in this recipe have a shelf life of about a year. The fresher your oils and butters are the longer it will last, but no more than that 1 year.

Is food coloring okay?🤔
Any subs for arrowroot powder?
Tapioca starch would also work well!
@@bramble-berry Is corn starch ok as well? IM from Australia so different products in different countries.
If I don't have aloe butter...🤓🤓🤓I can use something else
I NEED HELP. I made a large batch of body butter with a lot of expensive ingredients and accidentally put water into my body butter recipe and I don't know what I can do to make it not mold. Can I save the batch by using a preservative? And how long will it last before it goes bad?
how much water did you add? was it distilled? and how much overall product is there now? and what preservative(s) do you have?
I think it was half a cup of water and it was sink water. I made about a little over 2 pounds of body butter. I've never used preservatives before so I don't have any at all.
@@jocelyn6247 ok. always use distilled water in a formulation. cheap at any grocery store, and easy to have on hand. tap water contains for more microbials so your body body will spoil with that amount of water added to it. hard to say when but bacteria begins to flourish generally within 30 minutes of adding water.
Unless you add a preservative, this will spoil - within a week or two. It won't look obviously bad at first either, but will contain varying type of bacteriea, yeast, and mold. so i'd just get rid of it. It's unfortunate but at least now you know. it's not that big of a loss - I have had some things go wrong when i first started making skincare products, it happens to us all. This is how we learn.
It sounds to me like you want to make a less greasy product - an emulsion. Where are you located, Canada or US? If Canada I can make suggestions, if the US just order some preservative and emulsifying wax from Bramble and you can get started on making your first lotion.
I can help you with any questions you might have. And there's lots of demos on youtube as well!
That thumbnail almost made me not clicking on this video.
Is squaline oil the stuff that comes from whales??
it's squalane. and no, it's derived from olives.
@@Izzazzo I wish she were clear on this, it sounds VERY similar and its misleading. I was totally upset lol then I read this. Thank you.. However I just read that its hard to find a trusted source of the olive oil one. Some suppliers lie and say its olive oil derived because its cheaper getting it with sharks :(
mango butter is somewhat mealy and is not recommended to be added to a cold process formulation. the mango butter should have been melted along with the aloe butter, then oils should be added, the entire mixture cooled to firmness, then whipped. the mica combined with the arrowroot powder will leave a powdery uncomfortable finish. for so many reasons, this is just not a good example of how to make a body butter. and this is somewhat surprising coming from someone with your experience and exposure to ingredients and methods.
Hi Sir, I believe I need your help with a body butter. I want to do a light non greasy product for summer using fresh aloe Vera and how to incorporate it into the mixture .How fo I know the ph level and what preservative to use? I want to do this body butter as gifts for my friends who helped me before and after my surgery. Looking forward for your advice, thank you.
@@lisadeyang3291 body butter doesn't typically have water or water based ingredients like aloe. once you introduce water based ingredients, it is classified as an emulsion. a body butter is classified as anhydrous, meaning no water present.
so first, you have to decide which product do you want to make, body butter? or a lotion with aloe vera? a lotion would be much lighter and more appropriate for summer months in my opinion. let me know and i'll see what i can do to help you out.
Thank you so much for sharing this information , very helpful indeed. I'll go with your recommendation to do a body lotion instead. Many thanks, to you, I truly appreciate your help.
@@lisadeyang3291 Great, you are in luck. I just freshly formulated and tested a light and summery lotion. It's my Brazilian Tangerine Lotion with aloe vera juice. I highly recommend getting some tangerine oil if you don't have any. it's non photo-toxic since it's cold pressed. If you don't have any, you can replace it with any great smelling essential oil. I also provided INCI names.
If you prefer not to use silicones, feel free to omit the dimethicone or replace it with a natural alternative like the LexFeel series.
Be sure to preserve your lotion according to your supplier's usage rates.
TIP: Pre-mix your glycerin and xanthan gum prior to adding to water phase. This will ensure a smoother incorporation and will prevent what is known as "fish eyes". Good luck Lisa!
The emulsifying wax may seem very low but it is co-emulsified with the cetyl alchol and further stabilized with the dimethicone. This achieves a light, pourable lotion that is non-pore clogging. Enjoy!
Brazilian Tangerine Lotion
WATER PHASE:
60% distilled water
20% Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract
3.8% glycerin
0.2% xanthan gum
OIL PHASE:
10% Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil
2% emulsifying wax (Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60)
1% cetyl alcohol
1% dimethicone
COOLDOWN PHASE:
1% phenoxyethanol and ethylhexylglycerin
0.5% Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract
0.5% Citrus reticulata (Tangerine) Leaf Oil
