I love these Disney park documentaries. A lot more interesting than the boring animal documentaries that put you to sleep.
I used to watch this all the time on TV when it came on Travel Channel!

Imagineers are geniuses I have been on every ride at Disneyland theme parks and at walt disney world theme parks from 1987-2016 and they are totally awesome. I can't wait to go back.

Never set foot in Disney World in my life, and I still miss Alien Encounter.
The re bar bending machine was also used for the tree of life to make each cage for the tree
I studied the Valleyfair rides but wow this is SUPER AWESOME! I never got to go to Disneyworld though so that sucks but thanks to this video BOOM! I get to learn everything!
I never got to experience Alien Encounter. Now Stitch took over and its less terrifying.
It is amazing seeing the work that was put into the rides. Now can see them as works of art. I was told my grandfather designed the People Mover that used to be in Tomorrowland, gonna look into that some more. After watching the Imagineer series I thought of a massive three part ride version of Journey to the Center of the Earth. Since it will never be done imho and this is a just for fun comment, the journey would start with a Matterhorn ride that would start at the ground level tunneling down at high speeds. At the end would be the ride experience conversion where the ride slows down and exposes the wonders of the center of the earth. Giant and flying/swimming dinosaurs. massive waterfalls, lush forest and cave scenery. After the adventure tour, would be the escape, the third and final portion of the ride. The ride encounters an earthquake and the room rumbles. Using digital screens, the ground falls out from under the tracks. The rider now wants to leave because now the earth is rumbling, lava is erupting, and the ground is falling out from under the tracks. The ride then takes the rider to what looks like a lava vent, but it turns out to be a hot spring fountain. At first the ride drops a short amount 5 to 10ft as a false drop then The ride then suddenly sends the riders 2 stories up from underground and 1 more story above ground using a hydraulic/ pneumatic/ mechanical lifted platform the coaster locks into. This would be one of two that would rotate duties, riders should feel weightless near the apex. They would then coast round to the exit zone. Set narratives connected to the story, maybe Brendon Frasier w/ narratives?. I love what Disney and Starwars has done for the people. Hats off to the Imagineers.

i have never seen this special... although they use alot of the footage and dialogue used in the annual Walt Disney World specials

Ever since i was twelve i have wanted to be an imagineer. Now 16, A+ junior in high school, with my college picked out it seems like i can really do it!!! If any imagineers read this, please tell me what i should do to get picked/hired asap when i am done with college or what i should major in for college. I will base my learning career around this, and i will continue trying until i am hired!

At this magic kingdom ._. Scientists who work at this military complex are called imagineers._.
I commented on the Space Mountain ride 10 months ago, and the video got deleted. It was about how a Star Wars overlay and soundtrack would be an improvement over what was already there. It was done and I think it works great. Would be great to be able to give it a go. After seeing that it was done and it is now Hypersplacemountain, I think like Star Tours that it would be good to have more than one overlay. Each overlay could rotate every 4th or 5th ride into a new overlay/soundtrack like Hoth, Mustafar, Endor, the Last Jedi salt plains battle. or the Death Star Battle, where a massive Death Star is projected or the center that used to be the sun was made into a Death Star with led's and fiber optics that actually fired onto the curved ceiling at a craft freighter or planet It is great the way it is, but if the imagineers can incorporate more narratives would be amazing on top of what is already amazing. I would of commented off of my original post but the video as mentioned earlier was deleted. I haven't been on it yet but I bet the audio is amazing. No one else could do this better than the Imagineers.
I'm into the creative side, and have looked at Full Sail University's degree "Digital Art and Design". I have looked into the ImagiNations, thanks for recommending!

I was more blown away at the fact that Jack Sparrow was no where to be seen in PoTC.
+Jerrad Show Was released before the 2004 revamp of space mountain, therefore it was before that time.

That was an idea considered by imagineers for tower of terror. The plan was to have the ride and a hotel in the same building.

Sadly the days of Theme parks, trade shows, etc. are over as we know them. Even VR is old school now, experiential experiences have to be rethought. Thank you China.
"Imagineers" -- notice the word is spelled with a an "I" at the beginning. Curiously enough you pronounce it as if it were spelled "UH-maginineers" or "Amagineers." I maybe a bit sensitive as I was one, a Disney Imagineer. When you pronounce it "ah", or "uh"-maginer it sounds like you don't know what you're talking about. It's LAZY.
Nowadays they don't create anything, outside companies do!
