Muse set fire to the stage...literally (notice distinct lack of black curtain infront of the stage following the flames)...when they pull out the final song of the Origin of Symmetry half of the set.
Great moment caught after that with Dom and Chris laughing at each other about it and Matt looking out at the crowd while singing, obviously worried about where that burning smell was coming from!!

If you watch the first half, everything below the band's feet is just black (a curtain, tho you can't tell due to the darkness).
After the flames that black space become orange etc as you can see the metal struts and so on underneath the stage. The curtain burned completely away.
I was at the front and I felt like I was melting!
The heat that those flames gave out was huge
it burnt your bloody face! it was awesome! amazing!
When Matthew looks into the crowd it's like he's staring right into your soul, it doesn't even matter if he isn't looking straight into you DD.
FLAMES, Awesomeeee!!!!! Unbelievably great, I'm speechless as usual LOL apparently Muse has that effect on me! ^_^
The fire caught me off guard, even if Matt said before the song something about turning up the heat xD
this was just incredible, everything about this set, just everything. so glad i got a ticket, cos i nearly didn't

@IodineSky17 Judging by the interview at Reading, I'm guessing the second chorus and outro as well as parts of Stockholm Syndrome were also supposed to have flames (at Leeds), but the fire department freaked out after the first chorus and stopped it. For Reading they compromised and had 10 flamethrowers instead of 15 that didn't shoot as high, so they were probably able to do it at all the planned moments. We'll see when Megalomania from Reading surfaces.

middle of the barrier for this, my face nearly fell off from the heat. :'}
I was at the barrier for this and the front curtain on the stage melted/burnt off, it also melted the inside of my camera and broke it, and left me and my friend with red faces for 2 days! the flames had to be shorter and not as hot for Reading!
This would be why Muse is always voted as the best live band they can make the crowd so crazy and wondering wth is going on when the flames burst during matt singing

@DeadStar5 Ah ok sorry, I misunderstood, it's just the only announcement I've seen for a DVD of Leeds/Reading was Liam's. Again, sorry.
Just wondering though, have you managed to get hold of the same HD audio that Liam has? Just I went to Leeds, not Reading, so I'd rather get audio from Leeds. If you do, I'll download yours :)

@IodineSky17 There was flames all the way through at Reading, but there wasn't as many because of health and safety lol. Reading was amazing, if only i could have seen both performances Leeds and Reading.
now we know why the crowd was so far back!
So did they turn off the flames because of the burnt stage then? I thought it was a bit weird how they didn't return again. Someone who went to Reading can probably confirm if there were flames through the entire song. I'm guessing so, seen as though there were even flames during Stockholm on tonight's footage!

I think the lighting guy top left above the stage got slightly cooked by the flames.
@danishrammstein I think we are pretty much saying the same things. Rammstein was my absolute favorite band for like 10 years. I've all dvd's seen them live couple of times and I really Love them. I even have a Ramm tattoo, the burning balke cross. on my arm...
Last summer I went to a giant stadium Muse show. What Muse delivered was from a different planet. Bellamy is so multi talented and genius. Rammstein had to become my #2 band, after Muse !!

@klussixx Well, I prefered the LIFAD Tour (Arena-shows was way better than outdoor-shows).
But yes, we are talking about music, and that's my point. How can dictate what's better? Muse and Rammstein are not alike at all.. I love both bands however. Still, I choose Rammstein's music. Even if they played small clubs with no effects, they would still be my choise. Muse - definitely my sec. choise :)
@dopejoel There will be a DVD made by fans. Poor substitute I kinow but better than nothing. Check musebootlegs etc for details.

Like a Rammstein show, but Muse delivers epic music, not pyro, only..
@klussixx Even though Muse are my sec. favourite band, I do not agree with you at all.. Rammstein incorperate the pyro and effects as parts of the songs, not just eyecandy.
The music of Muse is very different from Rammstein, and even though Matt is amazing singer and guitarist, I personally prefer the style of Rammstein. Im gonna sound like a hater (which I am NOT, I love Muse), the fact is that Rammstein have sold more albums, even though singing in german.

@danishrammstein I've seen the LIFAD Rammstein show, outdoor. Reise Reise show was even better, musically and pyrotechnical. Still Muse delivers music rammstein can dream about... After all, we're talking about music.
Searching for shock rock, see the norwegian black metal bands.. They suck, but overkill the usage of visuals.
@klussixx And the BBC review of Liebe ist für alle da (2009) said that " Liebe Ist Für Alle Da is a beautiful, preposterous, ambitious record that makes the likes of Muse appear as hapless amateurs doodling on school scrapbooks, and the American metal aristocracy, unimaginative boors." I do not agree, since Muse is amazing, but my point is that Rammstein creates something uniqe as well...
