I recently read an interview where Matt said he was so damn nervous throughout this whole gig, Blackout was the only moment where he could relax because the focus shifted to the acrobats. He said he also looked at the acrobats as if he were another spectator (0:51), and momentarily forgot he was the one performing.
That’s what I noticed while watching this. He’s a human like us all, and it honestly makes me feel so bad for him reading about that. Dom said he found him crying on the floor before a gig. He’s just a nervous lil dude.
Hey, thanks for sharing those real life stories about Matt’s humanity - it’s very real…..it pours out through his vocals as much as anyone I’ve ever heard..when Matt sings, you FEEL it!
Matt Bellamy explain that the song is about life being too short, written from the point of view of a lover on their deathbed, looking back at a lifetime of a "love too good to last".
Matt Bellamy is a musical genius and the most gifted modern day performer ever. Muse without a doubt is the most exciting live band ever. And Matt Bellamy will be in the history books as one of the greatest musical performers of all time. He will be like Beethoven in a 100 yrs time. For the rest of human history the world will know who Matt Bellamy is.
"Blackout" Don't kid yourself And don't fool yourself This love's too good to last And I'm too old to dream Don't grow up too fast And don't embrace the past This life's too good to last And i'm too young to care Don't kid yourself And don't fool yourself This life could be the last And we're too young to see
+The Hudless Gamer I wouldn't necessarily say that's true. Most bands who are truly musical are way better live than in the studio - the studio recordings are never the ultimate versions of a song, more of a template to be built upon in the live arena. Any band that just sets out to replicate live what they put to record isn't worth seeing.
When I am no longer in this world, I want this and other great music from Muse played at my Celebration of Life......what magic they have! Just WOW! Penda
I love how at the beginning he holds the mic to his head and almost seems to be saying a little prayer or something, or maybe just getting into the zone by channeling the universe and it's musical brilliance so he can play and sing it as well as he did. All of their music has so much intelligence, emotion and passion its awe-inspiring to watch them.
Muse are outrageously good. I hadn't listen to them for ages and came back to them recently and forgot just how amazing they are. Silly me for forgetting.
This is... No existing words (in any taken vocabulary, or any existing for that matter) could possibly describe how this makes me feel... Every note, every strum, every reverb, every Fuzz Factory shenanigan, every breath he takes in between those little supernovas we call lyrics, every ... I am left speechless
This is pure magic. From 2:20 on... I can't name another guitarist in our generation that can single handedly captivate an entire stadium audience the way Bellamy does. This is truly legendary of a Hendrix capacity.
Esta canción es una de mis favoritas de Muse ,me hace sentir un mar de emociones, me da alegría y tristeza al mismo tiempo, hace sentir mi corazón en paz
Hi from 2023 and i fucked up then i moved to here and i'm listening this masterpiece show over and over, i wish i could be in there. Please make the absolution tour and come turkey we need Muse.
this makes me cry like a baby 1st this is the most beautiful and touching song ever 2nd this was the most wonderful concert ever and i wasn't there 3rd matt's voice is so sweet it would make my dog cry
The very sense of music is that have no rules, no ages, no bounderys, nothing can stop music, is above all our senses and with music u can even make a god dance!
The atmosphere in the stadium.... It's quite romantic....Lovely as always... The first time i saw matt's jacket my mouth popped open because my bro has one that is really like his jacket and since then i am begging him to give this to me.... Love you matt chris and dom....
It was 03'-04' somewhere in there. Absolution had just come out, i got tickets to see them in a club in Tucson, Arizona with 200 other fortunate souls. Matt's guitar was on his back while playing piano, switching back and forth. It was magnificent.🤘
I almost forgot how beautiful is LIFE ,LOVE, LAUGH , AND MUSIC ! and at the end of all i wrote here, i can't find materialism don't forget to know yourself and love all love all !!! Thank you Muse!!!
Having been an insomniac for the past 3 years, I then found Muse, and this song and it somehow puts my mind and body at complete rest. Listen to it every night to send me to sleep. (In a good way, it's not a boring song or anything)
This to me is such a deeply personal song because Bellamy is singing about the question which goes through everyone's mind at some point in their lives - "Don't kid yourselves, this life could be the last." I get goosebumps every time I hear it and I do think it is their best song.
This just solidifies the fact that these guys are masters. They can blow you away with speed and complexity or with slow and simple. Favorite moment 3:39, I die every time.
Today I decided that I should start listening to muse’s discography. NME said that absolution was their best album, so I startled listening to it. Found this gem. Just wow.
People bang on about Queen and the music they made and draw comparisons between Bellamy and Mercury but, truth is, Queen weren't capable of this kind of genius. This is next level stuff. It's just too weird and different for main stream. That, and the fact that Bellamy's voice touches you in ways no other can makes, for me at least, muse the better of the two bands. And by some considerable margin.
3:37 Everytime I hear the song and I sing along, I try to hit those notes. Every time. I never do it, but that's how the song sounds to me. Because of THIS recording.
That guitar solo is out of this world. Bellamy describes this as a perfect performance..... can’t argue with that. Hands down the best live music experience of my life.
Oh que oui👍...tout simplement les 5 minutes les plus émouvantes de l'histoire de la musique tout groupes et concerts confondus.. tout y est chanson sublime, interprétation divine,et le cadre magique de Wembley... complètement irréel ❤️❤️😛
How is it possible that their album versions are great, but the live versions are soooooooo much better????? Best band ever!
Very few artists are better live like The Cure and A Perfect Circle!
because musicians do that
Radiohead in basement
this is one of the best things that ever happened to humanity
How right you are . x
I've seen them live over 6 times now, really wish I was at this gig though!
Sliced breads got a slight edge

Thousands of people just stood still admiring Matts guitar solo. Quality. Wish I'd been there
2011jakew They were musemerized.
Without bragging, I was lucky enough to be one of those people. A large amount of us were reduced to tears
GOING TO LEEDS FESTIVAL!!! They wont play this most likely but at least im finally ticking something off the bucket list :)
2011jakew I've had to sell two sets of tickets to Muse due to health problems. LEEDS, wow. You got it going on. I see eargasmsin your future.

Thunder- Suckle Fuzz Canyon why do u say gold ? that saying is from like the stone age u must. be ancient lol
Only Matt Bellamy can silence the Wembley to play Blackout... They have magic in their music.
'the wembley'
Pretty sure they just removed the audio from the audience is all

@@danrawlings504 - No, they were hypnotized by the beauty of this music.
Not magic,,, muse's sound penetrated their brain,,,

Axiomatic truth there.
They are for the Ages.
Agree! He is already in my books!
"Blackout"
Don't kid yourself
And don't fool yourself

And I'm too old to dream

2:30 is the best guitar effect, and best guitar solo ever
Then you have not heard Invincible :P
Haha that's amazing as well! Just this song connects with me more! It's more a personal reason for liking the solo not just the fact it is AMAZING!
2011jakew It's a built in Fuzz Factory like what uses in a lot of solos and riffs
2011jakew Check out the Glastonbury version of this song :D
Manson Mirrror guitars 😊
After this I think I can confirm that muse performs the best lives on earth
goosebumps every single time i watch this.
yeah
Juventud
More goosebumps if you watch blackout live Glastonbury 2004
Yuup
That ending to the song just sounds completely perfect. The length the notes are held, the pitch of the notes, everything.
Good God... 7 years later and it still makes me tear up every time. So perfect up til that beautiful fade out riff at the end. Never, ever gets old.
After life. Eternal and timeless. He always defines life and death.
JESUS FUCK, and I thought the studio version was already perfect. This is more than flawless.
+Kari Paez Only group to ever perform consistently better live than in studio.
to be honest. Muse in concert is just majestic.
+The Hudless Gamer I wouldn't necessarily say that's true. +Adam you must be a lot of fun at parties
bruno gonzalez Apparently you're new to the concept of conversation.
My childhood was all muse. All my obsessive daydreaming was me closing my eyes and listening to Muse. Nostalgia hits hard 🖤
Still here in 2024 watching this for a pick me up. That guitar solo is the best thing that's happened to Wembley since Freddie at live aid ❤
I don't know why but the extra notes from 3:17 to 3:23 makes me feel so emotional, sad and happy at the same time, Muse songs are magic :)
I know man I get so emmotional when I hear this song!!!!!
kylee lines me too, but this version is more emotional because the extra notes :D
+Enrique Shrinking That part gets me emotional... makes me shed a tear every time.
Daniel Aldana Me too, I love the HAARP because they played this song and well, the setlist is amazing
IlIIIlllIlII Well, that's a point, guy, it would be incredible if the extra notes were in the cd version too.
Not gonna lie, I cried when they played this.
Gets one in the core every time. Peerless.
glad im not the only one
this does make one cry...
When I am no longer in this world, I want this and other great music from Muse played at my Celebration of Life......what magic they have! Just WOW!

Imagined exactly the same thing....
Do u still alive, mam?
I love his face when he puts up the guitar. Like he almost has to cry. I just don't have words for it. I just love it. Can't say anything more.

This song was way beyond it's time.

When he does that slow slide at beginning of solo I had an eargasm and had an out of body experience. Could this version be any more perfect?
Best song ever... I hope they will played this song at STADE DE FRANCE in July of 8th 2023 !!!
I dont think so Bro 😟, maybe de voice Is the problem, he doesnt have the same range
