    Essentially this is a 40W input module with an output somewhere around 10 to 15 W. Really it is all about the quality of the lens. Your air assist set up is great, that is the key to clean cuts. The mesh at the bottom is a great trick to allow the air to circulate. Well done! Thanks for sharing.

      I am cutting 12mm plywood easily with this module, 90% power and 8 passes at 380mm/min...
      More passes making it cleaner cuts, and with air assist better.
      MDF boards are 9mm mainly for 6 passes 380mm/min but I did try 18mm once and that was 14 passes 100% and 240mm/min.
      Keep my power lower and extra passes for better cleaner cuts, less burn marks and lighter black edges

    i just received mine 2 days ago and setup would have been easy enough except the yellow/black paired wire for the pwm was wired backwards at one side. i was going through every setting thinking i did something wrong and then on a close inspection i noticed the ground side was perfect at the control board and when it got to the adapter board the poles were reversed. just got that figured out last night and ran a test engraving. today i run speed and feed tests tor dial in but it cuts through 1/8" cedar single pass 50% duty cycle at 500mm. today i will also setup the air assist as i already have everything for it just never attached it to the machine. now that ive commented on this cool laser ill watch your vid.:)

    A tip for cutting thick material. Do not focus your laser on the surface. If cutting 18mm plywood focus it around 4mm below the surface. If it begins to stop cutting then stop & adjust focus further into the material say 8mm.

  • @ogmaker
    @ogmaker 3 года назад +1

    When cutting thick material, consider setting focus to center of material, not top surface. This will give you more cutting range with some degrade of top cutting line.

    • @TinC33
      @TinC33  3 года назад

      It seem logic theoreticaly but practical i got better result if set focus by top surface doesn't metter the thickness of cutting materiall.

    • @philbrandon0532

      Using air assist removes that theory..

    I had a quick question. I have the same neje master as you. I was wanting to know if you had to use the included power supply that came with the module or was the original power supply that came with the machine enough to power the new laser?

    • @TinC33
      @TinC33  3 года назад

      For 40w modul i use adapter wich come with it 12v 4A and this adapter is good for all kind of laser, if you buy 20w machine you'll got 2A adapter with it, with 30w machine comes 3A adapter and with 40w come 4A wich is good also for a 2.5w modul... You can try but i think 2 or 3A will be too weak to power the 40w modul.

    Hi there - purchased a NEJE 3max with this module a few days aho. So far, so good! Quick question: do you wear the safety goggles also when the laser is on standby / when you are framing the object or only when it's engraving/cutting?

    • @TinC33
      @TinC33  2 года назад +1

      hello, great to hear, it's the best modul, better than E40, i never use googles while framing, i put them on befor hit play button, but also that's not so dangerous if you cut some wood, biggest problem is while engrave something like inox steel, where the laser reflected and entire room become blue, so if that reflect to your eye it be very dangerous

      That's not about settings, it's about colour of anodising, black colour doesn't exist, so there are lot of mixed colours to get black anodising.
      You can check my last video where i anodised my homemade lathe tool holders wich i anodised in different colous, when engraving one colour engrave become white, on other toolholder engrave begome black and on third engrave become grey, so it's all about material, if you want to get white engrave try to get some different anodised plate, i bougt some anodised aluminium plate for laser engraving for some button tags and so on and it's quite good tough anodised surface and engrave is gray if i go more passes ut become light gray, good lock

    Hi, I decided to buy a Neje max with 30W laser module around 3 months ago related to your videos and tests. I can cut 3mm plywood with your settings(5mm/s 100% 5 passes) at the beginning, but now I can cut with 4mm/s 100% 8 passes even if I try to recalibrate focus, clean the module...etc. Do you think that the laser module lifetime is that short? I uses for hobby purposes, cut board game inserts for myself and so on...
    Another question is that I check the 40W module, and noticed that they advertise a new 30W module as well, is it really better than the old one?
    Can I replace my 30W with the new 30W or the 40W without any problem?

      check with J-TECH Photonics. I have a beta of his motorized Z-axis. works flawlessly and I would suspect he will be releasing very soon to public.

      100% laser power 5mm/s and passs until it cut, dont remeber exactly how many, but the air assist make biggest effect

    Dear Friend, is this laser compatible with arduino+cnc shield?, Is it easy to plug it in and configure it?. What would happen if I don´t have the air compressor to adapt it to it?
    Thanks for your answers

    • @TinC33
      @TinC33  3 года назад

      Sure you can use offline control board, and use different signals, so you can control with a cnc shield or 3d printer... If you don't get air assist you can't cut that much, maybe about 3-5mm max so if you want to use without air assist there's no sense to take 40w laser, engraver will work just fine without air but 3.5w laser modul wich is 10x cheaper than 40w will engrave just fine if not better than 40w

      Yes you but need to replace the x carriage if you got now 20w laser, or make a 3d printed adapter like i do.

      @@GuruVlk yes it is also big step from 30w i could say it got double cutting capacity as 30w and about 3-4x more power as 20w, mostly because of awesome focus, but for cutting air assist is must.

    Hola, yo tengo ese módulo, pero me resulta muy difícil creer que pueda cortar 7mm. He cortado solo 3mm y a veces tengo que hacer 2 vueltas para que haga corte perfecto. Por lo que hay un problema con el láser o la configuración del software, pero ya he probado muchas veces con diferentes enfoques, y sigo teniendo el mismo problema. Cuál podrá ser el error? Saludos!

      Hola... me pasa exactamente lo mismo, tengo el mismo modelo y no puedo cortar mdf de 3mm en una pasada, sobre todo en el eje x, uso asistencia de aire y lightburn, también lasergrbl y sin resultados, vos encontraste una solución? saludos...

      @@cristiantrucco3203 Hola amigo. Tengo el mismo problema con el Eje X, no tiene la misma potencia, y la diferencia si se nota mucho. Un colaborador de Neje me comentó que es normal, pero que no se debería de notar mucho, en mi caso si se nota la diferencia de ambos ejes. Me recomendó ajustar la potencia a 90%, por lo que no se me hizo lógico ya que lo que queremos es potencia para cortar. Al final después de tanta prueba y error, pude notar un pequeño detalle. Resulta que las ruedas que llevan el eje X están muy apretadas, yo creí que era la banda pero no, así es que aflojé un poco las tuercas de las ruedas y sí mejoró mi corte en el X, no mucho, pero si noté la diferencia, pero hay que estar haciendo pruebas, ya que si aflojas demasiado las ruedas, el motor no va a mover el láser y tendrás que volver a apretar. Por otro lado el corte cambia demasiado cuando limpias el láser. Yo lo limpio con bastonsillos de algodón, en México les decimos cotonetes, son para limpiar los oídos, y con esta limpieza si se nota la diferencia. Por otro lado, yo uso el lasergrbl, y para mdf de 3mm, yo uso 240mm/m de velocidad y 100% potencia y si corta con una pasada. Pero también puedes hacer 2 pasadas a 300, te ahorras unos segundos y corta perfecto. El módulo (acrílico rojo como referencia) lo tengo a 12mm de distancia del mdf, pero esta distancia va a depender del enfoque de tu láser, recuerda esto y espero poder explicarme: 1.quita el acrílico rojo del laser para acceder al enfoque, 2. con tu herrramienta, da vueltas a la rosca dorada de modo que separes esa rosca del módulo a unos 2.5mm. 3. haz una prueba de calibración con la tabla inclinada, ve algunos tutoriales,, con una tabla inclinada el laser va a marcar una línea, y en el punto mas delgado que tu consideres, ahí mide esa línea hacia tu láser, y esa siempre será tu medida mas óptima para cortar, y sobre todo que la superficie esté totalmente nivelada. A veces por 1mm el láser ya no corta igual. Espero te haya ayudado un poco.

    Hallo sir,
    I want to ask where is the difference between the CO2 vs NEJE engine?
    Which recommendation, before we buy,
    Because NEJE's price is much more efficient and its Work Area is 810 x 460mm, this product from China.
    Thanks in advance if you can answer.

      Neje is diode laser, i don't own a co2 laser, but they are much more expencive, i think more powerfull but got limited working hours, than need to replace expencive co2 tube, check yt for differences, but if neje got enough power for you than deffinitely diode laser, wich is cheaper all the way.
