Start at 600mm/min with 40% power and adjust according to the results. You need some testing to make it right for each materials.
Hi I have picked up a lot of interest in this as a hobby but mostly as a business opportunity. And I would love some guidance. I have followed a lot of tutorials but I would love to know those lazer machines capable of cutting metals
@@mcphilipesla2346 lasers for cutting metal are much more expensive
Where is the link to the box generator software?
Check the link to the website article which describes these projects.
Hello, can I spray it with other colors other than black when I engrave on the glass?
You can, but darker the color, better the result will be.
Thank you very much and sorry for my many questions
Hello nice video
do you cut mdf? how much deep you can cut? In this S9
Haven't tried mdf yet but I think 5mm should be no problem.
Can this machine cut white acrylic?
None of the diode lasers can cut white acrylic.
Thanks
can u show me the tutorial to setting for cutting the board using laserrgbl
Cutting parameters are the same.
i have a sculpfun s9 machine why in white acrylic I have difficulty cutting it speed 50 pass 8x power 100, the result is cut but the edges are messy and slightly blackened, I use air conditioning, please help?thanks
White and transparent acrylic is basically impossible to cut with diode lasers of any power. The light reflects off and it does not absorb into the material.
@@JTMakesIt thank you for your answer, but your video shows yellow acrylic, is there any special acrylic for this machine??
@@ismailkhayla1549 black, green, red and yellow work well. Blue(because it is the same color as laser beam) and white(because it reflects everything off) and transparent (because the beam goes through) don't work. But the lighter the color the worse it cuts. The yellow one needs twice as many passes as black.
@@JTMakesIt thank you very much, the answer really satisfied me, good luck always
Hi i need your help i have this sculfun laser s9 & s10 kits yet cant cut i have tried all settings please
What do you want to cut?
Hello, can I engrave on clear acrylic or not?
You can. You just need to paint the surface black first (spray paint or water colors)
Thank you
Hey JT, I might be blind but I don't see the link to the free online generator for boxes. Can you post the link please? Thanks so much.
In the video description is alink to my website hobbylaseecutters.com where these 10 projects are described in detail one by one. Next to a box peoject there is a link to the generator.
What kind of wood do you use for project number 10, and what is the best thickness for this project
3mm thick poplar plywood. Poplar is soft and cheap wood which cuts very well. You can use 4mm or 6mm for a more durable toy.
Which is better? Ortur Aufero LU2-10A or this?
Ortus is 10W, S9 is 5W
Which type of wood do u use?
Poplar plywood from hardware store
Another question, in LaserGbrl software where set the deep of laser to cut, bend and engrave?
You adjust the height of the laser by moving the module physically up or down. By adjusting the height you set the height at which the laser will be in focus.
Halo... can i ask, what software u using? Thank u :)
Lightburn
@@JTMakesIt thank you🤝
It depends on the type of wood. Here I was cutting a very soft and light wood. Harder and denser woods are much harder to cut and take much more power.
Great review, and one of the few I can find. Do you recommend this laser over the Ortur Master 2 Pro?
If you want more cutting power then choose S9. Ortur has better mechanics, but weaker laser.
What do you recommend the sculpfun s9 or the ortur pro LF laser or the atomstack A5 pro plus the new one
Thank you
For me personally the S9, because it is the best at cutting
Did you test the atomstack A5 pro plus the new one ?
@@karimmradradwan4449 No, I haven't. There are too many new lasers, I can't keep up with all of them and test them all :) maybe I will soon be able to test it
is this laser machine good for cutting on vinyl record? want make some design on vinyl record.
You can cut vinyl, but cutting vinyl produces toxic gasses which can harm your health and make the machine rust if you do it a lot.
👏🏾👏🏾Congratulations, perfect job, I'm setting up a craft shop, this machine will help us a lot.
Gained one more subscriber.🤝🏾🇧🇷
Awesome thanks!
Have you tried cutting clear acrylics? Or the colored transparent ones?
How can i cut gold mirror acrylic 1mm ? What is the power and the speed and nombre of cycle?
I never tried it. Try full power and 300mm/min. Test how many passes you will need
hello
What are the settings for cutting MDF wood 3 mm on the Lightburn program
Haven't tried it yet, but you should start with 600mm/min and full power set enough passes until it cuts through.
I need it to cut out foam boards for my craftsman tools, will it do yhis
It can cut black EVA foam. You can check my other videos, I have tested a lot of lasers
Would this engrave on brass or other metals other than steel? I'm looking to engrave a brass padlock
I still need to try brass
hi... what is the parameters that you used to cut the paper with lightburn? thanks
Check the video description for a link to my website. You should find all the information there
Qual aplicativo Você usou para testar a Sculpfun S9 ? Obrigado e excelente vídeo.
I used Lightburn software
How cut it veneer about 0,5 mm tick. Most the problem that happend the edge are black and buring by light color wood?
It can cut 5mm veneer. But every laser will leave black edges.
Is it possible to make stamps from a sponge? For water-based paints.
I think it could work with dense sponge
@@JTMakesIt Can you do such a test?
@@Przylga I would need to know the type of your sponge
Will the S9 module work as a replacement for the Atomstack A5 20w which only has 4.5 optical power? Even though the 4.5 optical power is great for detail it takes several passes to cut leaving my edges way too charred.
S9 module is an amazing upgrade to the A5 20w. The difference is like night and day!

What about air assist? Can you have that??
Did you try the Masking tape on the top and then cut?

How to remove burn mark in MDF board?
Sanding
I would love to purchase this but have some questions: Where would I find patterns? Also how do you transfer patterns to the machine? Would I need a metal surface to make patterns?
check the video description. There is a lot more information on my website hobbylasercutters.com
What’s the better machine ? The S6 Pro or the new S9 ? Thanks
The S9 is more capable for cutting, although they are both very good machines.
Hi Is It compatible to a PC Win* and CAD Dxf dwg softwares? Thanks
Yes. It supports all these formats.
Can you send me power speed for cut and engraving for all materials
Check the link in the description. I have all settings on my website
Hi JT,
I am considering buying this. Can I also make rubber templates with this sculpfun S9 that I can use to apply structures, mandalas, etc. in clay?
Yes you can
what settings do you use for the wooden puzzle?
Check the video description
Nice video. I just bought last week the neje Master 2S Plus with N40630 Laser. Did you compare this laser with s9? Neje claims 7.5W optical power :-D
No I haven't gotten my hands on Neje yet., Maybe sometime I will
it kinda of looks like the master 2s uses a very similar style laser, just ordered a s9 we will see :p
Will this cut 1/2” birch plywood?
It should be on a thick side. Max I tried 10mm poplar. It probably can cut it but quite slowly with some charring.
