    Fesenjan is a Persian chicken stew made with chicken breasts or drumsticks slow-cooked with ground toasted walnuts and pomegranate molasses. Here's a fall stew! This recipe for chicken stew with walnut and pomegranate sauce is a Persian classic: fesenjan. Chicken pieces are first browned and then slowly cooked in a sauce with ground toasted walnuts and pomegranate molasses. They don't usually think of making a sauce with walnuts and pomegranates, but it's a perfect combination!
    Ingredients:
    2 medium sized onions
    Chicken drumsticks or chicken thighs
    300 g roasted walnuts
    3 to 4 tablespoons pomegranate syrup
    1/2 pomegranate seeds
    5 large dates
    chopped parsley
    3 tbsp oil
    Spices: Salt and Turmeric as needed, Chili or Pepper Optional
