By using a combination of stat boosting gear with the right weapon, you can minimize the chance of getting one-shotted while maintaining a decent amount of DPS.
All the routes are designed to be least resistant while benefiting the player with just the right gear for the hardships to come.

I can tell you from my own experience that I spent almost all my embers fighting that bastard at lvl1. In fact for the last boss I had to farm some embers because I ran out of them.
well, I actually win against him using the raw broadsword +10 and some buffs, the prisioner ring (it gives you +5life, stamina and vitality), ring of steel protection, estus ring and the lightning defense ring, also the plus of life of being human.
It was a test of patience since I didn't do much damage against the nameless king in its 2º form. But at least I could resist 2 attacks (except for the one that makes a lightning fall from the sky)

Mattman I am using prisoners chain, Lloyd's and the second Lloyd's and knights ring to one hand Millwood axe. Good setup for nameless? Can survive a hit.

This is the video that made me honestly enjoy my victory at ds3 again because after some runs you do not have the pleasure that the game is built around. But after 3,5 hours with sl1 on dancer it was like when i first played dark souls when the game had me sweating like a horse because i killed a boss.

Just beat champ gundyr on ng+4 naked with fists only by parrying him repeatedly. Dude is parry bait to the max.
Tbh he's pretty easy to parry with small shields, his every attack is well telegraphed so you know exactly when to parry

Edit 7: Now that’s a lot of edits after a week of not playing ds3 and only bloodborne and nioh I killed nameless with my broadsword probs not gonna do dlc

Edit 9: Wooo I did it all bosses in the game sl1 including dlc only took me 83 hours of in game

How were the demon princes I found them harder than Gael and midir
Creighton's Dragonslayer Axe is one of the best weapons at low level imo. It has good base damage, lighting damage aswell AND you can still buff it or even infuse it (without losing the lighting damage)
Really cool!
Its also just a functional looking weapon, and its great stamina usage too. One of my favorite weapons.
That first 30 seconds made me realize the Bosses in Darks souls 3 are way Crazier than in other games.
Oh yeah, compared to the first two the bosses move a lot more and are livelier in general.
DS3 definitely took a few pages put of bloodborne's play-book

Dark Souls censors names it deems inappropriate or offensive in online play. So a lot of “knights” turned into “k***hts”.

For clarity, I started it like two weeks ago, not three years
Possible optimization :
Farm for warden twinblades. You can use them from the same point onwarda as the dragonslayer axe(which you really only need for NK phase 1 and Midir).
Infuse with sharp, buff with carthus rouge. L1 spam your way to victory. The winblades with this setup stack over 100 bleed per L1 (only around 90 with blood infusion + less physical damage and no resin)
It makes a lot of the endgame bosses bearable or even a joke.
Oceiros, demon prince, NK phase 2, Friede Phase 2, the gravetender wolf and twin princes all get mushed to absolute bits.
They even make SoC somewhat bearable which for me still is tied with Midir for the hardest fight in a SL1 run.
Your DPS goes through the roof.
AND on top of all that you can buff them with poison for Gael which is a godsent.
Only problem left to solve is Midir. He's immune to bleed, which sucks.
All in all they are making your late game life so much easier, it's a crime not to spend the 5 minutes to farm them in the cathedral.
What's the the point of sharp infusion at SL1 bruh? It's not gonna scale that well anyway. Did you mean 'raw' infusion?
Edit: Wait, the twinblades require 18 dex, how do you do that at SL1?
@@saiko-no-kami you get the 18 base dex you need with the carthus milk ring and the dex ring. 3 + 5 +10 base.
With 18 dex sharp infusion already outscales raw for damage at +10 upgrade level. And since the dex ring is past the archives anyway you can't use them earlier and can get a +10 weapon easily

I was struggling with Gravetender Wolf and just beat him first try after swapping my Warden Twinblades from Blood -> Sharp and committing one of my last Slabs to make it +10.
Also Tears of Denial having an infinite duration is amazing.
If you get stuck in any of the chapters, remember that you can just do a different one.
Should be fine as long as you meet the 'requirements'.

I get the Fap+3 at 23:48. Can be used in various bosses that require max stamina.

Do some coop at friede. You can learn to backstab cuz you are protected by friends and it helps you not get rusty at the fight(like playing the entire game to get to her again)

If you can!t beat the wolf, I’ve found a workaround. Killing the drake in High Wall and the two giants in Cathedral will net you those last three Large Shards.

I beat the main game except for Nameless Meme (who I fucking suck at), but I'm not going anywhere near the DLC. The HPs are too large and I don't wanna have to pay for the chemo that cancer will give me.
The DLC bosses have very telegraphed attacks except for Spear of the Church(you can cheese em tho). You'll be surprised at how easy these bosses are compared to SoC.
TBH, It took me a long, long, long time to beat Friede. And one time to beat the SoC. Honestly, the DLC bosses are way harder, especially if you have a slow weapon.

I'm with ymfah on the bosses. SoC took me the longest to beat with my SL1. EASILY longer than NK, and Friede. Those variable delayed attacks and 5 different move sets is just hell. (Miracle+Spear phase is LIQUID RAGE!)
Nameless King is a decent fight, but all the hype surrounding his difficulty is overblown. He's not _that_ hard. He lives up to the title of "Fume Knight 2.0", because he doesn't variable delay his attacks, or change up his move sets on the fly, he just hits REALLY hard!
Oh yeah, i forgot about the best item in the game, Crippling Depression.

Great video. What I would add from my SL1 run:
In the painted world, also loot:
- Millwood Battle Axe - does good damage when infused with Heavy gem, and two-handed with Knight's Ring (if you like the moveset)
- Ethereal Oak Shield, for the early health regen, especially good with Lloyd's Shield Ring
Don't forget another Undead Bone Shard in the Demon Ruins.
Get 100% physical block shield for Oceiros, not the grass one, Ethereal Oak Shield is an option, you just need to run for the Knight's Ring to wield it.
On Champion Gundyr, you can do 2 regular hits before the riposte.
Get the Firelink Greatsword and beat Nameless King with it :)

Protip: If you're struggling with Oceiros, and you don't want to waste embers fighting him repeatedly, you can combine Lloyd's shield ring and the life ring to tank almost all of his attacks. The only one that can one-shot you is his high-jump attack in phase 2, while his various charges and sweeps will leave you with a sliver of health.
No matter how many times I've seen this vid the intro is still amazing. Also thank you ymfah, cause of you I found powerwolf and have wondered how have i lived my life without there music.

In my own run I have found that it can be better to use the spirit tree shield for passive healing instead of stamina regeneration. the healing will prevent you from having to use an estus on small amounts of damage like getting clipped through a shield. the 100% physical reduction is also a bonus.

That Gundyr fight reminds me of my Chained Ogre fight in Sekiro in my second play through. I came from playing Bloodborne a bunch and started a new game after stalling right before Genichiro. I blazed through the first part of the game, and Chained Ogre was the 3rd boss I killed, but the first two don't really count because they were just the dipshit mini boss generals. I died on my first attempt to a gank by all four of the enemies in the arena, but on the second attempt I cleared out the first two enemies (but forgot the spear guy lol) and then fought the big oaf. Step dodged every single one of his attacks and didn't get hit in the entire fight. I was so proud of my self. I'm not the one to normally do that type of stuff too. I'm just really glad I recorded it.

For those struggling with the Great Wolf fight for 3 Large shards, the alternative (and probably easier imo) way is to kill the 1st giant in the Cathedral and the Lizard (drops 2 shards) on the wall at the back of Corvian Settlement bonfire).
Or just kill the two giants in the cathedral and chase away the dragon in lothric wall
