@@blueflame7000 It’s one of the things that sets RTW apart from anything else. The theme and background music just makes it seem that much more professional.
It really says something when "Little Naitch" Charles Robinson, a literal referee, can legitimately claim that he actually once outperformed "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair live on PPV... and Flair had Roddy Piper as his opponent!
I swear hearing that main event music play every time is like comfort food at this point. Been hearing it for years now and it's just a nice reminder of the hours of entertainment Bios has provided for years now, especially for people who need a break from reality every so often.
Years ago, I posted a gif on Twitter of Kidman being powerbombed and tagged him asking for an explination. He actually replied saying he had to have been sick that day.
Did you notice the Slamboree logo, some WCW genius of design separated it so the word Bore....e was nice and noticable, and in bright red. I really don't understand why they lost... oh yeh it's FREAKIN UNDERLINED too...
I just remember being floored at seeing Roddy Piper show up so regularly on WCW. I know my impression of his age was skewed due to my youth, but god it felt like he was a million years old.
17000 views and only 1.7k likes, c'mon people this guy presents the best wrestling timeline on RUclips. If you watch the video like it first, you know that it is going to be good. Wrestling Bios is the best there is and the best there ever will be. Help him help us, Like the video then watch it so you can keep him in the game.
I don’t know who the guy is that made this channel, but my nephew said “you will love this channel” and all I’ve been doing is watching it all week. The guy who made this channel loves wrestling, and it really shows.
At the beginning of the Knobbs-Bigelow match, Knobbs hits Bigelow with a WICKED unprotected shot to the head with a heavy waiter's tray. It always makes me wince and it wouldn't surprise me if it concussed Bigelow.
Yeah i didn't know that about Charles Robinson until i saw Season 1 Episode 9 of WWE's Most Wanted Treasures which was about finding that iconic Butterfly Robe that Flair wore to the ring at Royal Rumble 1992 and Flair had no idea where it was but it turned out that he had given it to Charles Robinson decades prior and they wanted him to give it to the WWE to put in their fan museum but it would still belong to Charles Robinson and it broke my heart to watch him cry when giving it up because of just how much Robinson really admired and looked-up to Flair. Its a great episode and one you really should watch if you have the time because it really shows you a bond that Flair and Robinson had and still have to this very day.
Thanks for the Sunday upload. I Always thought Slamboree was a good name for an event and if WWE still has the copyright, they should bring it back. Even if its for NXT like they've done with Halloween Havoc and the Great American Bash.
I like your videos and your comments, especially at 14:55 "It's going to be interesting to seeing the Steiner Brothers together again if WCW doesn't **** can the reunion just after a few weeks." Man, isn't that some foreshadowing?
How many turns did Kevin Nash do in WCW? I assume he turned face for the first time in 98, heel again after the Jan. 4th 1999 episode of Nitro, here he's a face again, then he turns back heel to align himself with Sid and Macho...? Has anyone kept up with this?
And to think one of the more entertaining matches on this night was an intergender match between Little Naitch the referee vs Gorgeous George the gorgeous valet. Didn't see this coming ALSO, no Norman Smiley? No Slamboree wiggle? Damn.
To me the best match was the opening triple treat tag team match. I also do like the Gorgeous George Robinson because even thought its meh they tired and they did good. Everything else is skipable
Looking back at Brian Knobbs wrestling in the hardcore division of WCW, and also remembering the Nasty Boys vs. Cactus Jack and Maxx Payne at Spring Stampede 1994, I'm kind of shocked Knobbs and Saggs never wrestled for ECW, be it in a cup of coffee one off appearance, or in between stints in WCW or WWF. The Nastys could wrestle a good, entertaining brawling match, and I feel like the ECW crowd would have popped big for them.
Part of what I’ve enjoyed the most about this series is getting to see the sides of things when I was more paying attention to the competition. I watched more wcw in 96 than Shawn Michaels run, and I had all but abandoned the wcw by this point. It’s so genuinely bizzare seeing this company in 1999. WCW had major problems going into the begining of the year, but the steep decline is kind of shocking. Reforming the NWO in January to ……..the most entertaining match in an entire ppv 5 months later being a ref vs a woman? It’s like they’re not even trying
Im impressed with Charles Robinson's performance, he did a hell of a job i think, its pretty cool he got too be his favorite wrestler in front of his favorite wrestler.. I mean that's pretty huge, especially when you are the Flair..
Concerning when the next good WCW PPV is, there’s a relatively good one in 2001, but… you probably hope there’s a good one before then. If there is, I can’t recall it.
Nothing against the Robinson and Gorgeous George match but when that’s the highlight of the show it’s rather damning of the rest of it.
Lil Natch was amazing though. Charles and Rick went all in and had great energy.
That chinlock sequence by Booker T and Steiner would like to have a word with you.
@gp.5989 don't matter, that's Thursday night match. Not a ppv match. I could name 10 names wcw had that would of made a amazing match
@@BigkillawardIt’s not about the wrestlers it’s about the booking. Also, nobody cared about “5 star matches” back then.
@@Ian-Omega and nobody cared about this dumb match. It's part of the reason this ppv ducked weinnies
WrestlingBios on Eric Bischoff: “this makes no sense.” Me: “Sounds like we’re watching everything until WCW folded.”
Major props to Charles Robinson for the one of the best Flair impersonations I've ever seen.
That bump into the ringpost over the ropes (11:50) was spot on!
@@exilhamburger4802 no kidding. After how many times I've seen that botched, pretty impressive he nailed it when the pressure is on.
@@exilhamburger4802 even Flair himself was impressed lol
Second only to Jay Lethal.
Whoever mixed DMX with the Filthy Animals theme song is a genius!
I know right 👍
That would be Ryan (Mr Wrestling Bios) himself. I believe he’s done all the custom music mixes on the channel.

Billy Kidman getting powerbombed.....that is the sort of storytelling you save for a PPV.
The PPVs may not be very good, but your coverage of them sure is. Good stuff from Wrestling Bios!

Dave Meltzer has yet to give Wrestling Bios a 5-Star Rating, but I'm still a fan of Wrestling Bios.
The remix of DMX at the opening was fire!
Ddp really should have had a longer run with the world title. It was stupid to have him drop it so quick
And he should have stayed face for this run, too.
If you think this run is short wait until we hit 2000.
@@jackcarraway4707Abeyance reigns supreme!
WCW doing something stupid? I am in shock...
Welcome to WCW in 1999
I love that the logo for this event has "BOREE" in big red letters. You can't say they didn't warn you.

Loving the DMX intro mix. Great stuff from Wrestling Bios as usual.
The Billy Kidman belly to belly over the top rope looked like a hard painful ass bump I hope he atleast got paid good for it lol
Years ago, I posted a gif on Twitter of Kidman being powerbombed and tagged him asking for an explination. He actually replied saying he had to have been sick that day.
He got powerbombed by one of the most boring and generic wrestlers to ever exist too, yikers
I was in the military and couldn't see this PPV, but my late brother was there live in the Dome watching. I was jealous for little bit afterward.
Me too. I was nearing the end of my first deployment
Sorry for your loss
For a simple referee Charles Robinson took some good bumps. Respect for him.
“DDP does the J.O.B. At the PPV Name Slamboree!” What a Spectacular line 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The music used in the intro and outro was unreal. Who'd have thought we needed some DMX with the Filthy Animals theme JamUp mix
REST IN PEACE DMX 🙏🏾🕊️
Second that. The definition of a tortured soul, but still one of the best to ever lay down a verse.
It's amazing how quickly WCW fell off a cliff in 99 & 2000 - even more amazing that they were still pulling in the big attendances in 99.
True its still better then what wrestling is today

Ah yes WCW started to be on life support.
Vince Russo did a three hour podcast on RUclips. Talking about his time in WCW.
I went to Nitro there in December of 98. There were like 15,000 more people in attendance for that NITRO than for this PPV. Not a good sign for WCW.
Slamboree were 20,516 people.
The nitro you're talking about were just under 30,000.
The difference sure isn't 15,000. I'm just saying

20,000 is still a pretty good crowd for PPV for WCW in 1999 considering the quality of the product at this time.
